Gah, just realized that I forgot to turn down the volume for the music during the intro. I apologize if it's a bit tough to hear what I'm saying
Kyle Scott It's alright, I can hear fine.
The music I wanted! Looks like you guessed it! Thanks for the video!
No problem! Hope it helps!
Great work, finally its here... now waiting for the part 2 and Breaking Free
Sorry it took so long! Part 2 is uploading now. I tried to record the tutorial for Breaking Free today as well but my camera kept shutting off while I was in the middle of recording, so I wasn't able to finish it
Kyle Scott no problem man, you are an amazing teacher
When you say, "The fifth fret of the A", or "The eighth fret of the B" are you referring to the key that it's in? I can't figure out what you mean when you say that.
+EpicXplosions I'm referring to the root note (lowest note) of the chord (which is always a power chord unless I say otherwise)
Kyle Scott So how do I figure out what this power chord is? (I can play most basic chords and bar chords, but I'm not familiar with power chords.)
+EpicXplosions Power chords are super easy. They're all the same shape, which is just the first two (or three) notes of a bar chord.
So for example: If I say "5th fret of the A" Start by placing your first finger on the 5th fret of the "A" string. Then put another finger one string over and two frets higher, which in this case would be the 7th fret of the "D" string. (If you want you can add the "G" string as well by playing the same fret that you're playing on the "D".)
They get even easier when you're in drop tuning (like this song is) as when the root note is on the low "D" string, all you have to do is lay your finger across the two (or three) lowest strings. So if I say "8th fret of the D" then just lay your finger across the 8th fret of the D, A, and D strings.
Hope this helps!
P.S. Even though I mention it in the video, I should note that this song is tuned to drop B, but I'm referring to each string as if I'm in drop D
Kyle Scott Thanks! Really helped me out
Is it drop d
Drob B
I can play the resistance thanks for the lesson
