      Thanks Amanda and Merdad you made it possible, ultimately PIF had no choice to remove them due to the cases and also the point that PCP were not investing any money post takeover was only PIF and the Reubens.

    Whilst this makes for uncomfortable listening, I believe the report is right on the money regarding Amanda Staveley. She was a great ambassador for our club, but her financial situation could only have led to embarrassment to all concerned. Personally, I’d make her an honorary figure and welcome her to any future match she might want to attend. Do the right thing and be honourable.

    Eddie, this was a real passionate piece of journalism. Amanda Staveley did have a massive role in getting the PIF deal over the line and for that she will be remembered favourably. But there is a massive examination of Football club finances these days and any impropriety such as failing to repay loans was always going to be dealt with severley by a court. I dare say AS had to sell her remaining shares to either pay off her debts or to voluntarily distance herself from the club so as not to bring it into disrepute. Hopefully, the club will move on and concentrate on its objectives of regular top 4 finishes with European Champs league football. Keep up the good work on all things Tyneside.

    A couple of points over the years I have learned in my Business life . 1) Follow the money: A lot of 'wealth' is built on debt and when that debt fails, it collapses like a house of cards. So while your analysis is disappointing, I am not surprised. 2) Ego frequently powers the Boardroom. Expect continuing 'stories' of Directors' fall outs, usually spread by the loser in these battles.

      Those who follow my channel understand my stance on this. You’ve obviously just landed here and it’s quite clear you’re unaware of what she has and hasn’t done in terms of loans. I’ll come back to this.
      AS clearly deserves the accolades for ‘saving’ our club and breathing life into it. She’s gave us hope and put the soul back into it. I’ll forever be grateful for this due to her clear emotional investment in the club.
      On the other hand, I’ve voiced a few times her cavalier style in business terms. I see her as an opportunist, a risk taker and a hustler. In this very video I outlined her propensity to get into business difficulties and I level criticism for this. It’s this side of her that has cost her position with the club, which has temporarily destabilised it. Did you skip past this part?
      In regards her loans, you claim she ‘consistently’ doesn’t pay back business loans and ‘consistently’ loses court cases because of this. This is factually incorrect.
      It is only her latest case with Victor Restis that she hasn’t paid back a loan, but she disputed the terms of that loan with Restis, but of course she lost.
      Mike Ashley took her to court due to her breaching the terms and conditions, not because she wasn’t paying it back. There is no pattern, as you claim.
      I have a short memory over nothing Jim, but I do know I know far more and have a better understanding on this matter than yourself, based on your comment.

    No one, but no one invest money in a big cash cow like NUFC because they 'love' the club. They invest money to make more money and we are irrelevant. Once you accept this simple truth, everything else falls into place.

    Just a quick question from a fellow RUclipsr (and Geordie) - Do you do these videos with an autocue to help? You seem to be able to speak incredibly well to the camera.

    • @TynesideLife
      @TynesideLife  2 месяца назад +2

      Hi mate, thank you and thanks for the question. No I don’t use an autocue.
      I find with my autism that I can’t just talk off the top of my head for minutes on end, my brain freezes quite quickly and I have to take a moment to reset it.
      I do plan and structure my videos and break them up into smaller component parts. I can then (roughly) rehearse the bit I want to say in smaller chunks. Sometimes I make bullet points on my phone, or take a minute between each segment to think about my next part.
      So, almost everything I say has been carefully considered and nuanced to make sure I articulate the point I want to make in as balanced way as I can.
      Hope that makes sense 👍🏻

      All I can say is wow! From experience, having a few practice runs certainly helps, but even so, just wow. I do my videos in German, but even in English I still think I would struggle to keep a flow beyond a couple of sentences.

    Yes, that account looks pretty convincing I have to say. In which case my respect and gratitude to Amanda Staveley is if anything increased. She took what steps she could to avoid dragging Newcastle's name through the mud. (It also avoided dragging PIF into it, too, of course, and she needs to maintain those relationships, but whatever the mix of motivations I wish her well; I hope she moves on from this and thrives (but preferably not with another Premier League club!)

    From what I can remember Newcastle West collapsed financially, East bought them (including St James's, Wests land and their staff). Was a number of club names thought about like City and Rangers as far as I can remember reading, but they just happened to decide on United. As a matter of fact Wests colours have been used as an away kits colours many times (was the 1st kit I owned of the club as well, got both the home and away full kits, the away kits colours I am talking about (Wests) was dark/navy blue and kind of a deep darkened red).

    • @TynesideLife
      @TynesideLife  2 месяца назад

      Partially right Jeremy (Source: Paul Joannou - club historian).
      West End did financially collapse and East End moved to St James’ Park when they vacated in mid 1892. This land belongs to the Freemen of Newcastle and NCC(previously Newcastle Corporation) and still does today.
      East End salvaged some of their staff (about 5). East End already had away colours and that’s the first I’ve read about using West End kit?
      East End eventually decided to change name to United in Dec 1892 in an attempt to appease the West End population of Newcastle. The name wasn’t officially established by the league until 1895.
      So, Newcastle United were formed in 1881 as Stanley FC, who changed their name to Newcastle East End, who then moved to St James Park and then changed their name to United. 1882 is not the clubs foundation year. It’s the year of a name change and second ground change.
      I’ve done a dedicated video about the foundation story and you can find it on my channel 👍🏻

    One more comment from me:
    It’s ironic that a fall out with Darren Eales was one of the reasons Amanda parted ways, especially since herself and Mehrdad were pivotal in getting him to the club in the first place?
    (I’m guessing they played a major role anyway)?

    to me one of the disturbing things I got out this video, Amanda borrowed monies to invest in Newcastle. If you don't have the capital to begin with, maybe find another venture. Everyones sentiments about her love of the club is spot on, especially for the women club.

    Yup, i said from the start that the driving factor behind Staveley leaving was gonna be her financial problems and the court case with Restis. The idea it was anything to do with personal clashes with the board or PSR spending was utterly mental to me.

    • @TynesideLife
      @TynesideLife  2 месяца назад +2

      I’ve got no doubt there have been clashes and she took the blame for the Anderson debacle, but that’s not a reason to leave. They’re just company glitches that get ironed out.
      Definitely her company collapsing caused her to leave 👍🏻
