the pdf link doesn't work anymore. I know what the major scale is. Is it most helpful to just memorize the numbers for the scale? I know the notes of the fretboard as well. I have been playing reading chord charts for decades, but for some reason I am struggling with switching to nashville numbers charts.
So I get it , cool , I was trying to figure our a Johnny Cash song last night . I know simple stuff but... I used the circle of 5th's . Root note 1 go left 4th go right 5th. Numbers make sense you can make the 1 what ever then the 4 and 5 Cool
Scott, Thank you for the video. Unfortunately you have a couple of things incorrect. The Nashville Number System does not subscribe to the Diatonic Chord System. The scale you are using 1, 2m, 3m, 4, 5, 6m, 7dim is NOT the NNS. In the NNS all the chords are Major unless designated as minor with the use of a suffix, as in 2- or 2m. There is NEVER a time in the NNS when the 2, 3, or 6 will automatically be played as a minor. A number by itself will always be played as a basic Major chord.I realize you are trying to teach others the NNS for which I commend you. May I suggest you research a little deeper and learn the real NNS. Best to You!
