What about using a volume pedal for swells? I used one for electric guitar but not tried on a bass .
Good call and it would work really well. For me personally I like the idea of being able to pull this technique out at any time (ie. not needing to have the volume pedal with me) but more to the point (and more honestly lol) I could never seem to get the coordination together with a pedal. 😂 To be fair I didn't really practice using one very much, but even so - definitely not something I had a natural aptitude for. :)
