In case you haven't made a decision on the vanity yet, if you went with the double sink vanity, you could push it to one side and fill the gap with little 4-5 inch shelves.

Vanity thoughts: In smaller bathrooms where you don't have much space for shelves or don't have a closet, I feel like double sinks might be a waste, more counter space is always a plus - it gives room to set down clothes when showering / getting ready in the morning, room to set makeup or other products / things you normally like to keep in reaching distance etc
    * signed someone who's had WAY too much experience with bathrooms lacking counter space lol

On the bathroom vanity you can use spacer boards on each side and paint them the same color as your bathroom. You can attach the spacers with "L" brackets.

On the vanity, if the space is 52” and the standard cabinet is 48”, you could set the vanity to one side and add 4” shelves on the other which would be perfect for rolled up extra towels or extra rolls of TP. Just an idea.

If I had matching tile I would complete the floor, leave an even gap on each side and hang some towel bars on each wall if it was a double sink. Use thicker base board to make the bottom gap look smaller. Having space between the counter and the walls is kind of a look right now anyway. Love to Mose!

If you get double sinks you have to pay for the plumbing for 2 sinks, faucets and so on.The blue one does cost more but plumbing cost may make it cheaper in the long run. Adding a wood moulding on the ends of the sink will fill in your space run it down the sides as well. No extra space.

I've been looking at cabinets lately. You can use a bottom cabinet, then get spacer sections that match the cabinet, and cut one to fit on each side. You can then cut a separate vanity top the right length to fit, drop in a sink or two, and then you're good.

Hello Josh and Hailey! My husband and I recently renovated my parents home here in So. Cal. Like you are doing, we completely renovate every room in the house due to the fact that it is my inheritance. Our goal was to make the house appear as if Joanna Gaines entered the home and waved her magic wand, lol 😂. We succeeded and thank God above we received a bidding war within 4 days of listing it. We got $50,000.00 over asking price ($845,000.00). We purchased bathroom cabinets similar to the ones you are looking at in this video. To remedy the gaps, we installed an 8" high backsplash that surrounded each cabinet (the 2 corner connected wall areas). We then finished the edges of the tile backsplash with tile trim pieces that matched our white subway tile. The edge trimming pieces were placed the tops, bottoms and sides of the backsplash areas (2 bathrooms). This completely concealed the gaps and looked amazing. I personally love, love, love the navy blue cabinet, yet all three look awesome. Best of luck! 😃

24:32 - Remember that the width of those vanities are at their widest (top granite/marble slab) the base is smaller so you'd have much larger gaps on each side then 0.6" or whatever it is.

We use a kitchen cabinet store for our rentals. They can get vanities and have fillers that match. Some people dont realize most of the "custom" cabinet dealers have products for all budgets. They may not come in all the colors, but enough to pick from and it will fit perfect.

Hey guys! I flipped houses for over 10 years and I feel your pain. My recommendation is to get a linen tower to go beside a vanity. I did this in several homes and it looks fantastic and provides more storage. It also looks like a custom built-in. All you would have to do is move the electrical for the vanity light. Easy peazy

I was thinking about the gap issue in your bathroom. What about putting wainscoting on the wall behind the sink, so that if there is a gap it won't matter because it will look pretty ? It doesn't cost a ton and looks nice. Also I wanted to mention that I really enjoy the things Haley( so sorry if I spelled it wrong) picks up to sell. I think you have a very good eye and the contribution you make should not be underestimated. You and Josh make a great team.

Hey Josh, I’m not a GC or plumber but if you put in a double sink, I think you’re going to have to redo the plumbing because what is there now only services one sink. You’ll need two faucets and two drains. Maybe you can find some type of dresser or table in your thrifting ventures and put a vessel sink on it. Or have one of your woodworking viewers build you a simple vanity to fit the space. If you haven’t already, check out Southeastern Salvage on Garners Ferry, they might have something that works. Good luck!

Then you could pit a piece of trim to cover up the wood . If you feel industrious you could make your own cement counter top. I know that I am not industrious . Thank you for sharing your content. My husband and I have flipped many homes and I'm a real estate broker in San Diego. I'm not a fan of double sinks in such a small vanity because there isn't much counter space and both of them probably won't be used at the same time. You would also have the additional expense of installing two faucets. The shelf idea is good except, the counter top will not span the space. What I've done in the past is purchase base cabinets to fit the space, then purchase a piece of quartz and have it cut to fit the space include a 4"-6" backsplash (it's a rental and without a backsplash your tenants may cause water damage to the walls) and finally a separate sink.

I’d investigate those tall thin spice rack type pull outs you get in fitted kitchens for your ‘gap’ as you could potentially store toiletries in the shelves If you can’t get one that is exactly the right size you can still buy the pull out mechanism and fashion something the right width But definitely the double sink
As for covering the gap at the counter level I’d try and make it a feature - perhaps a little tiled ledge where you could put a vanity tray or small faux plants or toothbrush mug etc

Try looking for a dresser then add the sink. If you put just one sink then maybe you could put something on the side for shelving for towels etc.

You can add some decorative crown moulding around the top of vanity to cover gap

I'd love to see a video from you when it comes to Antique booths and the process of getting one.
What kind of experience you need as a reseller.
What kind of things to buy.
How to start one things like that.
    Purely for research

On the vanity.... You could go with a freestanding one( like a vintage dresser look with a sink in it) and it would be ok to have space on either side then.

Regarding the vanity, how about getting a 36" or 42" single sink one, move it to one side of the opening and install a tower cabinet or shelf in between the vanity and wall to use for sheets, towels and toiletries.

I love your place and how far it’s come! Maybe in between the the sink and toilet you could take the wall down that would definitely help it feel more roomy 🤷🏻‍♀️

Look for a dresser and convert it into a vanity. We've done that at least twice before and they turned out great.

Regarding your vanity dilemma. Get a smaller one. Home Depot/ Floors and Decir sell 8 foot x 1" pieces of polished marbke/ granite . We used one for a threshold . Easy to cut. Put on sink top either side so it is dirt of like a backslash. The vertical sides on either side of walls can be filled in with solid vinyl cove molding (or painted wood)

The silver lining on leaving without buying much it at least means you have the knowledge to not buy things that won't sell well. Still a really good use of your skillset Hayley!

    Vanity issue idea:
Use a pedestal sink or 2 and put floating shelves up on one or both sides of the walls for towels and basket for other storage on the shelves.

Just my opinion, I like the larger single sink with more counter space. .kids don’t need their own private sink. The extra few inches use that on one side of the wall and have a narrow shelf unit going up the wall, to hold small decor- bathroom items….maybe if you go navy. Paint shelf unit navy for a great added color for all white bathroom 😇🥰

Buy the double sink with the wood bottom and paint it the color you want it. Slap a extra piece of drywall in and you will have a almost perfect fit.

Embrace the gap! We have a 2 inch gap between our vanity and wall and it is the perfect place to store the scale:)

I would use wall fillers, standard fare in cabinet installations. It’s a stripe of wood between the wall and vanity.
