It's amazing how young American singers know and sing old hits from the '30s,' 40s and '50s and how they value their traditional music from their country! This does not happen in Brazil, a country that does not know and despise its old artists. How sad a nation and a people that have neither culture nor memory ... !!!

Even if what you say were true, there are 3 countries in what you call North America (didn't you forget Central America?) and NONE of them can be called America, but the reality is that America is ONE single continent and not a country that can be used to create a nationality that does not exist. If some day the continent becomes one country, then may be the people could be called "americans" like we call the people from Germany "germans" and so on. But that we'll probably not see happening in our lives. It's about time you people found/created a real name for your country (I'm assuming you are from that country sandwiched between Canada and Mexico; if you are not, it still aplies). It can not be "The United States" because that assumes that there is only one in the american continent, whereas there are two (do you know that?) So you see, it's you who should check your facts, my friend. And then you people wonder why so many despise you. Apropriating the name of the continent for your country just shows the rest how ignorant and arrogant you are and that's not a good recipe for good relations between the countries. Time to stop the ego trip.
