I like to do a few small tasks each day rather than spending hours on a weekend doing a full house clean. It took a long time to come to this realization but it really works for me.
This is fast becoming one of my favorite homemaking channels. No needlessly long cinematic segments or advertisements, just endlessly helpful advice and wisdom. I love the homey, personable vibes - reminds me of the comforting feeling of old vintage instructionals. Keep up the great work!
I used to clean through my house everyday now in my 70's , I have reduced mobility and now have to plan each day what I can do. I try to get through the whole house in a week. Today I changed the bed, vacuumed the carpets in bedroom and dressing room, dusted and then cleaned the bathroom. I was feeling energetic today, so I cleaned the microwave and washed kitchen, utility and hall floors. I do all my jobs sitting down or crawling on the floor. The high jobs are harder and I usually do feather dusting to get the cobwebs every now and again as cant stand long.😄💛
You are right to just do what you can, Myrtle...no one’s home is ever going to be perfect and it’s completely unrealistic to have that expectation ...we tidy things up so our home functions well for us with the ability we have...you are doing wonderfully well 😊
Love you're ideas. Putting plastic wrap on refrigerator shelves is brilliant. Also , the newspaper on bottom of trash cans and dryer sheet over shower drain are excellent time savers. Thanks for your awesome videos.
I use cheap plastic place mats or cutting boards in my fridge to keep it clean longer. I like the idea of newspaper in bottom of trash can. I also keep my trash bags in the bottom of the trashcan.
Agree with the other ladies. Great ideas. J have been cleaning a lot of years and you are never too old to learn. I especially loved the drop cloth for the floors and the tip for the used lids. Thanks for another great video
So many great tips! I put waxed paper on the top of my cupboards because they don't go all the way to the ceiling. It's a great place for grease and dust to hide. It makes it so much easier to clean there when the time comes to do it. I asked you at one time where you buy your dresses. You always look so beautiful. You graciously answered me but I did not write it down. I have been trying to look at old videos to find the answer you gave me, but haven't been able to find your answer. Thank you in advance.
New machines use the wash water as the rinse water. I got myself an old school washer so my laundry actually gets clean. Saving up for a nice wringer washer 😊
I actually don't mind cleaning out the fridge. For laundry I don't sort unless its something new with a bright or dark color so there is no color transfer. I do wash in tap water. I live in the desert so during our hot months the water is naturally very warm. During our cooler months the water is room temp. I wouldn't put flip flops in my dishwasher. Our shoes pick up some of the nastiest bacteria. So that's a big no for me. I make my bed while the shower is warming up. When cooking or baking I clean up as I go. While the stand mixer is doing its job, I wash the dishes and wipe the counters and fridge. My favorite cleaning tool is my cordless electric floor sweeper. It takes so little time to keep the floor swept up. Wonderful little investment. I have one made by Shark. Have a lovely day ! 🥰🌱🍀🌷💐💗✝
I love your practical tips On the trash can, I also put a second bag as a barrier and a top bag for the trash and once it's full I just pull the top bag and replace it unless it has leaked and in that case I pull both. And replace both. That way I almost never have a mess in the trash can bottom.
You are sooo beautiful inside and out! My Mom passed early 2024 and finding your videos has given me so much in terms of the love for homemaking that she used to pass on to us. Thank you for your beautiful authenticity, your love for your family visible in everything you show!❤
I love your ideas to save a days worth of cleaning . My mother always taught me to take a day at a time for each room of the house. Monday kitchen, and laundry, Tuesday ironing and bedrooms, etc. Daily washrooms. I also learned the grouping rule, in kitchen, fridge and bathroom. Put items in containers to easily gather items up to clean under. Especially in fridge, and the clear plastic or glass container prevents spills on fridge shelves. Lining ovens always! I quickly wipe or washout stove rings after every use. This prevents burnt on stains, and how often do you clean out your toaster!! People forget that one often! Lol! ❤
I get those papers in the mail, but now instead of recycling them I’m going to line my trash can. You’ve also given me an idea to line my kitty boxes with them, thanks! 😊
Yes! That is fabulous! I've seen vids where people were using Dollar Tree placemats, which made no sense to me! The fridge light cannot go through the placemats, so the lower shelves would be darker, and, how is using placemats save on cleaning the fridge, cuz now you have to clean the placemats??!! I LOVE the cling wrap idea. I honestly do not know how these shelves get dirty! I understand what you mentioned, it's just sometimes there is no rhyme or reason!!
Listing my home for sale has brought me to a higher state of clean and decluttered to be ready for showings. I realized just how much easier this home is to take care of just by having less in each area.
I love these tips! Let me share one of my favorite ways to deal with that greasy dust that settles on top of the fridge. Cover it with cellophane after a good cleaning. Much easier to change the cellophane from time to time than scrubbing the top of the fridge. It’s clear so it’s easy to conceal❤
Good idea to use old items as a drop cloth in Kitchen. I have green marble linoleum and I'm always getting flying bits of lettuce, parsley, string beans. All the green stuff so I have to go searching the floor, lol.
I line my fridge shelves with tea towels and wash once a week and also I line my waste bins with papertowels soaked in floral disinfectant before placing the bin liner in
Great Video. I use the colored flyers (not glossy) to clean my windows. After I wash them down with a scrubby brush, warm soap and water, I dry them with the flyers. I keep wiping till I hear the paper squeak against the glass. That squeaking means no streaks. Those flyers are free too.
Thank you Lisa for another helpful video. I have fur babies and this is shedding time. I get my dog groomed professionally a few times a year and try to do some brushing between. To remove pet hair from furniture I found that a dollar store squeegee work great. It gathers the hairs usually in one pass and they are easier to grab.
Great tips. I actually do most of these. Anything to save time. I use to sort all my laundy, I rarely sort now. I am a bit mindful of weight. I wash blue jeans with light weight items and towels with light weight, that kind of thing. I put boiling water down my pvc pipes. No problem, been doing it for years. Thank you for your videos.
First of all, I have to start off with how beautiful you look. Your skin is just glowing, and your smile just brightens my day! Your content continues to be so inspirational. As my health has continued to deteriorate, I am not able to clean on a regular basis like I used to. My husband tries to help out, but he is busy with work..... so I have had to lower my standards. Anytime I have a short spurt of energy, I clean!! And you are so right in saying that spending 15 minutes cleaning here and there makes a huge difference. There are so many great tips in this video which I will be adopting. Thank you, Lisa!! Patti ❤🩹❤🩹
Such great ideas, Lisa! Invariably when I am chopping vegetables, or peeling potatoes, something is going to end up on the floor. What a great idea to put down an old tablecloth or drop cloth. If you haven’t heard of Shout Color Catchers, they are a great way to wash colors together and the colors won’t bleed onto whites or lighter fabrics. They work in warm water, as well as cold. Thanks for such great tips!
I have found color catcher sheets that you throw in the washer. By using this I can wash with any other clothes it picks up the dye. I can tell they work because I have seen the sheets come out gray or even pink. I think Tide makes them. I tear them in half per load and the box goes further.
Thanks Lisa! Love the idea of using the news paper at the bottom of the trash can. A sure time saver there and putting boiling hot water down the drain too! I used to do this in years gone by but have forgotten recently.
Inspiring video,as usual! My sister, who cleans for a living, turned us on to the Green Gobbler; a brand of drain cleaner that works but isn’t too harsh. I’ll also be using up some old dryer sheets to see if I can catch the hair before it goes down the drain! Great advice with bleaching jar lids!
Loves the newspaper at the bottom of the bin. Love love. Just found your channel and I'm enjoying it. I find if I put things away properly as I use things then there's not much left to do and less clutter about the home.
Another hack similar to the lint roller idea is put your rubber dish gloves on, run them under the tap, and then brush the dog hair off the blanket or sofa. It even works on my long winter wool coat and is amasingly effective! Great video, Lisa. ❤💯
This is wonderful thank you sooo much! I also have a lot of junk mail that I had been shredding and started lining the bottom of my trash can with this and it also has helped me clean up leaks and dirt from the bottom. Thank you so much for your wonderful channel!❤
..I like her Channel, the tip about the lids is correct,...I've done that for years, ..I first soak them in a mon metal container in Baking soda and then I use the Bleach method. I cannot agree with " not sorting your Laundry " ....it is damaging to your clothing, your tablevloths , and not extremely Hygenic. ...since your undergarments ( as well as yous socks ) need to be washed by themselves and I learned that from my Grandmother. I seldom wear flip flops ( I buy ones with support) but PLEASE dont put those in the Dishwasher! Full of bacteria from walking around. Shes correct, however , about the plastic toys, and other things you can use your Dishwasher for. I line my rubbish bin with the newspaper ads. ...done that for Decades. ... I also place one trash bag on top of the newspaper,as an " extra : . As a former Professional Organizer / Housekeeper... i always lined the top of any Refrigerator with a layer of Cling Film, cut just a bit larger ,to hang a smidge over the two sides. ...you'll never see it, and when it is time to clean. ...replace it with a new sheet of Cling Film. Easy . :).
I recently wiped my dashboard and steering wheel with baby wipes. No residue, and clean! I have decided to keep a smaller dollar store package in my glove compartment and use it for my hands also. I want to try using one or two to pump gas so my hand doesn't pick up the gasoline.
I run a pot of vinegar thru my coffeemaker, add a little baking soda to the drains and pour the hot vinegar down. To clean to vinegar out of the coffeemaker, I run water thru twice dumping both of the pots of hot water down the drain. We do this monthly on all our drains.
I love the dishwasher idea. I always scrub my bbq grills down in the spring. Then I put them in the dishwasher. I really is great. I get them sterilized too. I love it. I also do my gas stove top grills the same way. I has turned out so nice. I will remember the flip flops in the dishwasher. Who would have know! hahha I love it!
For the kitchen trash barrel, I put 2 bags in and use one as a safety liner. So, if a bag leaks for whatever reason, it has to go through 2 of them before the barrel itself needs cleaning. It also avoids messy trips to the outside trash bin.
These were so great! Practical suggestions I can use this weekend. Thank you! Subscribed. And also your smile is radiant! Your beauty is truly inside and out. 😊
I like your tips about less cleaning. I also like your smile and your courtesy. You are also very pleasant.Continue to give ideas which will help others. God bless you
I empty the dishwasher while my tea water heats in the microwave for breakfast. Then it is ready to load after breakfast. One rule I made for myself is to leave a room tidied. Then, clutter does not overwhelm me, it is much quicker to do actual cleaning, and drop in company is welcomed, without apology. When my sister remarks on how clean and nice my home looks, I say being decluttered makes a space look cleaner.
I have never sorted my laundry, ever. Never had issues with colors bleeding, etc. The exception is bleaching my cleaning rags (I detail clean homes for a few families).
To keep garbage bags from slipping into the bins, I use long rubber bands (check Walmart office supplies). I just wrap the rubber band around the top, once I put a new bag in.
Thanks Laurieanne, it's actually a cotton kitchen towel and I have a few different ones that I change out seasonally...the company that makes them is called Michel Design Works and the quality of them is lovely amzn.to/49JqoW1 here is an example of another one of their designs
So sorry, my mistake for attaching the incorrect link...the earrings are almost identical in style but the size is much bigger than what I have...the brand is called ear secrets and I haven't been able to find the proper link...my sincere apologies
I use dollar store plastic trays in my refrigerator so when I clean it I just remove the trays. I downsized my clothes so my laundry loads are much smaller and more often.
I keep a dedicated dollar store boom in my bathroom so when I am taking a shower, I can use a little soap and wash the sides and the tile almost every time I take a shower fast easy, no scrubbing
I do sort my laundry. I don't particularly want my husband's undies in with our shirts. blouses, etc. My laundry is very small so I put small containers in the bottom of the closet and use them during the week to sort as we go.
There a many good tips in this video. However there are two things I would NEVER do. 1. Not sort my washing properly, 2. Put flip-flops in the dishwasher with or without dishes. Other than that, I usually enjoy your videos.
No way, you lost me at washing everything together. I always sort my laundry and will continue. I don’t like white nubbies on my darks and dark nubbies on my whites.
I like to do a few small tasks each day rather than spending hours on a weekend doing a full house clean. It took a long time to come to this realization but it really works for me.
Yes, I am the same, Linda...much less daunting for me :)
I agree, although there is just something so nice about having it all clean at once.
Can you please give me ideas on how to clean windows especially if they are huge??
Thank you for your precious tips
I appreciate you. It's so wonderful knowing there's women out there who love homemaking and being feminine! May the Lord bless you and yours.
This is fast becoming one of my favorite homemaking channels. No needlessly long cinematic segments or advertisements, just endlessly helpful advice and wisdom.
I love the homey, personable vibes - reminds me of the comforting feeling of old vintage instructionals. Keep up the great work!
This is my first time visiting this channel. Subscribed for all of the reasons you listed.

I'd love to know about her dresses too! good point.
A few of the long dresses I have are from April Cornell...the website is www.aprilcornell.com/
what a great idea, thank you!
Love your tips! Double rinsing helps get your clothes cleaner too. Especially with these new fangled washers 🙂.

great idea for kitty boxes!
I love that Saran Wrap idea! I’m totally doing that.☺️👍🏼thanks for the great tips Lisa
You're so welcome! I had a sticky jam spill in the fridge just this week so the saran has already saved me lol!

Makes so much sense as we have our own septic tank
I line my fridge shelves with tea towels and wash once a week and also I line my waste bins with papertowels soaked in floral disinfectant before placing the bin liner in
2:29 that’s a good piece of advice not just for tough seasons but to save energy as well

I hear you, Patti... perfect is unattainable so we just go for "Done" as best we can within our abilities :)
My son, a former Marine, has done his laundry that way since he was in the service. 😊 but when he comes for a visit, i do it the "regular" way.❤,

Thanks Lisa! Love the idea of using the news paper at the bottom of the trash can. A sure time saver there and putting boiling hot water down the drain too! I used to do this in years gone by but have forgotten recently.
Glad it was helpful, Angela and thank you for visiting :)
And newspaper absorbs odors, too.
Love the dryer sheet idea for the shower 🚿!
Some great ideas; I was already using a few.
Your a homemaking SUPER GENIUS 💐 🏆.. So much of the wisdom of the old generation is coming back & I know I need it. Tnxs 👍

I came up with the baby wipe idea on my own 12 yrs ago, loved that I can clean quick without a bucket and mop to dry in my apartment!!
love it!
Love your videos and these tips are so good! I just found you yesterday, and I am a fan now.
Yay! Thank you and welcome! :)
I love the idea about hair going clogging the drain. While I wait for the water to heat up I clean the walls of my shower enclosure.
Another hack similar to the lint roller idea is put your rubber dish gloves on, run them under the tap, and then brush the dog hair off the blanket or sofa. It even works on my long winter wool coat and is amasingly effective! Great video, Lisa. ❤💯
That's a great idea!
Thank you for sharing all these ideas in spring cleaning time of the year! Indeed time management can be our best friend, all year! Have a great day!
This is wonderful thank you sooo much!
I also have a lot of junk mail that I had been shredding and started lining the bottom of my trash can with this and it also has helped me clean up leaks and dirt from the bottom. Thank you so much for your wonderful channel!❤

To keep garbage bags from slipping into the bins, I use long rubber bands (check Walmart office supplies). I just wrap the rubber band around the top, once I put a new bag in.
Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you for the great tips
I recently came across your channel and subscribed. Thank you.
thank you for visiting and welcome! :)
If you throw a large clean dry bath towel in the dryer with a load of wet clothes, you’ll save time, and no wrinkles to iron out.
love that idea!
Very practical

So sorry, my mistake for attaching the incorrect link...the earrings are almost identical in style but the size is much bigger than what I have...the brand is called ear secrets and I haven't been able to find the proper link...my sincere apologies
@@asimpleseason2616 Now problem at all gives me some fun looking around for them. The ones from the link were cute too.
I use dollar store plastic trays in my refrigerator so when I clean it I just remove the trays. I downsized my clothes so my laundry loads are much smaller and more often.
Love this
I keep a dedicated dollar store boom in my bathroom so when I am taking a shower, I can use a little soap and wash the sides and the tile almost every time I take a shower fast easy, no scrubbing
Great tip!
I do sort my laundry. I don't particularly want my husband's undies in with our shirts. blouses, etc. My laundry is very small so I put small containers in the bottom of the closet and use them during the week to sort as we go.
Great tips! ❤
Glad you like them!

I keep a roll of papper towels in the bathroom to clean the stool
The spaghetti sauce jar lids: THANK YOU!!!
Smart. And beautiful.❤️
What??? Flip flops inside the dishwasher with your plates in it???😢…
Yuck. I agree
The open dresser which is beautiful is definitely a magnet for dust hence extra cleaning and work 😏
I totally agree!
There a many good tips in this video. However there are two things I would NEVER do. 1. Not sort my washing properly,
2. Put flip-flops in the dishwasher with or without dishes. Other than that, I usually enjoy your videos.
Make sure water is not boiling hot. Could crack the pipes.
No way, you lost me at washing everything together. I always sort my laundry and will continue. I don’t like white nubbies on my darks and dark nubbies on my whites.
