First of all, great video as usual! Really appreciate you taking the time to make this stuff man it's awesome. Admittedly the stuff you talk about in this one is exactly like you said, just deep down the rabbit hole LMAO but it's interesting and a lot of it does connect. I think if they remaster this game, it would be interesting to see if they add lore surrounding Gallica, maybe around her experience in the World Before or the War of Destruction, assuming that she was alive around that timeframe. Or even if they add a new fairy character to the party, who was alive during that timeframe who can give you cool lore / insights. This character could be Gallica's mom or older sister or something, who knows! I think that all this lore is a testament to an exceptional job of world building though, Atlus really outdid themselves with the world of Metaphor.

the thing i love so much about metaphor is that it doesn’t resort to the cliche and shallow “racism is bad” message as the main theme of the narrative, but instead uses the injustice rife kingdom of euchronia as a vehicle for the ramifications of fear and anxiety and how they are the root cause of conflict and separation. it’s very impressive.
You'd be surprised at how many people find the idea "racism is bad" to be a complicated concept 💀 jokes aside, I do love the idea of anxiety being connected to magic, because irl if you can conquer your anxiety then that is basically magic in itself. It's one of life's biggest hurdles. Based off your comment, I think you might like a few of the other videos I did on this game. If you haven't yet, definitely check them out!
Thanks for the story about the invention of Esperanto, it fits perfectly with the idea of Metaphor. I have always enjoyed reading Memorandum and I believe that such a well-thought-out world building is not an accident and there is great potential to explore the history of this world further in the next games.

Great video, as usual ! I think there might also be a thing with the name of the fairies. Gallica sounded familiar to me until I remembered it was the name of the online services of the French national library, made in 1997, with the hope of being "the virtual library of the honest man" (in french this is an expression that means someone with a humanist philosophy and way of life). The aim of this institution is to give free access to as most of humanity's creation as possible (scientific litterature, pictures, ancient maps, audio and video recording, testimonies...). Today it gives free access to more than 10 millions documents. I don't know more about the etymology of Gallica and Agrica, and I think Gallica the fairy isn't probably named about this french institution but I guess there might be a meaning to the name giving an explanation to why it was chosen.

I think fairies in a way definitely do reflect the idea of an honest library, considering they appear to be unashamedly honest, and a bit aloof to the happenings of man since they live indefinitely and draw life from magic. We can see these personality quirks pretty consistently amongst all the fairies we speak to in the game, and while it reflects in different ways, the core traits are pretty similar. And of course given their longevity, they’ve definitely witnessed history first hand, and what’s a more more honest accounting of knowledge than firsthand experience? Lastly, fairies of course (especially Agrica) literally serve in game as an access point to all kinds of knowledge. So I definitely see the parallels… I’ll research more and think up some more stuff for when I do a character analysis video on Gallica! Fairies are definitely one of the most intriguing lore points in Metaphor’s world imo, thanks so much for sharing your insights! I learned a lot and it gave me a ton of inspo
