Lope Continues To Annoy His Dad The Silverback Gorilla
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 4 окт 2018
- Gorilla Lope and Siverback Oumbi's playful interaction at the wall involves stealing wood wool, leading to a comical showdown as they exchange cheeky glances through the gaps.
Oumbi the silverback gorilla and his son Lope. You can watch the first part here: • Silverback Gorilla Try...
Oumbi starts by banging against the wall, while Lope is having a few seconds' rest. When Lope gets up he goes to the wall, sticks his hand through the gap under the wall and steals some of the wood wool (wood shavings). Again, Again and again. It does look like later Lopes's plan is to actually pinch Oumbi. When Lope and Oumbi stare at each other through the little gaps in the wall it's just hilarious.
Lots of comments on how sad Oumbi is. Did you know that gorillas don't have the same facial muscles as us humans? They can't smile! When a gorilla relaxes, their muscles face droop which makes them look grumpy. This happens in the wild too. This is just one video. Maybe when you see the whole family dynamics, you'll know he's relaxing in one of his favourite spots, but his son ( who is very mischievous anyway) just wants to play. You can't always judge from one video. Of course, I would love to see them in the wild rather than in the zoo, but the world we live in just doesn't make that possible. Let them free you say. Where to? They were born in a Zoo, not in the wild. Only Biddy the oldest gorilla family member was born in the wild, but those were different times. European zoos don't get animals from the wild anymore. They feel safe at Twycross. They have the whole family with them. Dad, mum, grandma, aunt and two boys.

It’s hilarious how Lope knows not to beat his chest in front of his father. It’s like he knows it’s both a challenge and disrespectful to his father. So he does it behind the wall knowing his father can’t see him.
Exactly, gorillas are so interesting

OMG! The close up on dad's face! Those eyes are definitely the look of a dad!!
Yeah a dad in prison
When the camera shows his eyes you know how he really feels about the situation he is in
He's wondering if he can even catch his scallywag of a son not unhappy he is perfectly use to zoo life and he's there for one thing to breed so gorillas don't disappear as in many other zoos around the world

It’s so cute that he feels safe enough to play like that with him😂❣️
To those troubled about these wonderful creatures being in captivity: it troubles me too, but remember that back in "the wild" there are poachers that kill them for "bush meat" and trophies. Dian Fossey's book Gorillas in the Mist gives a picture of the danger. The choices for those wanting to preseve the species are very complicated. We can't control the politics and culture and poverty of the countries that control the "wild" places where they should be. Preserves have been established, so some humans are working to create wild places safe from humans, but there is no guarantee for their ultmate survival there if, for instance, war breaks out in the region. Is it right to keep some gorillas in captivity as a safeguard against their possible extinction in the wild? It is indeed a tragic situation with no easy answers. And this video is priceless! No DNA test needed to show how much like us the gorillas are.
Finally someone who can park their emotions for a moment to speak with reason and common sense. Well said 👍
I can see Oumbi smiling at Lope's antics. Love the way the two look at each other through the opening between the boards.
Lope likes to play rough and tumble. I have a feeling Oumbi knows that with his strength and weight he could easily hurt Lope during play.
I remember that day Oumbi broke up a fight between the ladies, and how easily he tossed Osala about 3-4 feet through the air with one hand. Amazing!
I don’t get tired of watching this video, Lope is so funny ❤❤❤❤❤❤ ❤❤
Lope is such a lil character, he keeps trying to get Dad's attention and Dad just wants him to chill out and sit still for 2 minutes! LOL
I have to say, of all Lope's antics that I've seen, these are my favorite. Peek-a-boo through the slats eye to eye with his dad kept me giggling along with everything else he did to try to get his father to interact with him. Daddy just doesn't seem to have a playful bone in his body.
OMG!! I LOVE Lope! He is so funny and a great source of entertainment! 😂🤣
Peek A Boo!!!! I for sure would not be teasing my dad if he was that huge!! When they are both peeking at one another through the crack is hilarious!!! Beautiful and such intelligent animals!!!
Sitting in the same spot all day long breaks my heart :(
Madison Kukura guess you have never seen one in the wild
Dads always sit in the same spot... Especially when watching the matches on TV... If he moves he jinxs the games... I learnt it from my dad and I intend to pass it on to my son in the future...
Like being in a cubicle 😑
I have been complaining about this place for a couple of years now. Is absolutely pains me to see those wonderful, amazing, beautiful beasts. If there's going to be captivity involved, he should be in a humongous fenced-in area. At a reserve. It kind of actually pisses me off.
When the camera Zooms in oh, you can just see the misery in his eyes. The lack of privacy.
I love when they were looking at each other through the cracks of the wood, little guy, big guy. Thks for another precious video between a father & son :)
When you’re having a bad day but they bother you anyway
The baby gorilla is clearly bored. They should be in the wild.
Why? So they can be hunted by poachers?
@@DarkDoughnutsVids so lock up the real criminials, not the innocent. Instead we put the victims behind bars instead of the perpetrators.
He looks like he’s having a blast to me
They are in zoos to save their species before they all disappear from this earth. Around the world in very well run zoos their gene pool is collected to make sure they survive. Do some research don't make assumptions gorillas live in the Congo there are wars and if the people aren't killing each other they are killing the gorillas for the land and bush meat now tell me do you still want them in a zoo or back in the Congo
They’re born in the zoo. It’d be worse for them in the wild
One of my favorite videos oh Lope getting on Dads nerves. I love it
These animals are not meant to be in that kind of enclosure they need to be free he looks the same way you would look if you were never allowed to leave again...

rhonda williams well okay just let poachers/hunters have the chance to kill them..these gorillas were saved.
Seems to me the father doesn't want to perform for the humans peering through the bars of his cage.
Dad looks depressed
I don't particularly love Gorillas, have never much even thought about them. Happened upon rhis, watched it and found myself blinking back tears. Seeing that huge, scary male Gorilla sitting in a corner, trying to get some privacy from the humans. And looking so bored and hopeless....We humans can be so thoughtless, self serving and cruel...
linda cull if you really think about zoos , it is so sad . Why do we need to keep animals on display , like some sort of clothing in the window of a department store . They were born to be free , if not in the wild than at least in a sanctuary with the most amount of privacy as possible .

One of my favorite Lope videos. He knows Oumbi will not hurt him so Lope teases him. Smart boy he was. ♥️
"come on dad, come on, lets play, come on come on" .... /Dad sitting miserably in the corner,an expression of forlorn gaze on his face piercing far beyond the tv, contemplating how life got him here and when he let go off the reins of his own destiny : "cant you see im busy here" , he manages halfheartedly as he shakes the can, takes the last sip of his stale beer and opens a new one.
"ask your mother"

How can anybody not love Lope
Poor thing! He just wants out.
Lope is so freaking cute! Oumbi just chillen like a villain
It's like there so much going through Lope's dad mind like he wants a better place for him and his son. And his son tries to cheer him up and play with him
That silverback does NOT want to be watched, stared at and laughed at. How sad that was.

Amazing how Dad puts up with Junior's antics. My Dad would've knocked me into next Tuesday! LOL. I'll be at my 12 step meeting if anyone asks.
Yea...part two! Love little Lope, all the way from St. Louis, MO. Thank you for these incredibly entertaining videos of this little guy. He gets funnier and funnier every time!
Thank you Sherry!
Omg my heart is broke because I just watch jail show right now smh free Gorilla😥
I'm heart broken looking into that Silver Backs Eyes he looks very depressed. They need to build a much bigger enclosure with a jungle scene and put in lots of stimulation hidden food and toys so they can keep stimulated. This looks like a enclosure from the 80's.
Thank you for recognizing this fact. I read comments from clueless onlookers and it's disheartening. Finally someone has a keen sense for what the actual dad is feeling. He is clearly distraught and depressed. It's so sad. The enclosure, however isn't the problem. He should be in his natural setting, but man has destroyed most of them unfortunately. We've done these animals no favors whatsoever.
Thank you.
I, too, can see the sadness and hopelessness in the dad's eyes.
His son probably never knew freedom like his dad.
This is very sad to me and hurts my heart.
Humans do not deserve animals sometimes.
Especially not to be enclosed for entertainment.
And they are at our mercy.
Very sad.....
Looks like this is Oumbi’s favourite sleeping position😀.A very patient dad indeed
People come and say something about cuteness...
Just look at his eyes...
U can tell dad has so much patience lol
Well, now that I'm late for work😂😂. Gosh I love this family! Thank you for sharing all these wonderful videos 💖
Lol. Lope knows how to get his dad to the very edge of annoyance
THANK you for sharing this wonderful video with all of us. I love when when you zoom in on the dad. LOL the look on his face. They are truly beautiful animals. With 98.7% same DNA as us Humans. I truly am greatful for every video you share. Thanks again from your biggest fan in California USA.

Oh my gosh SV, this is my favorite video of all time. Thank you so much ❤❤
That's no life for any animals to live.
Love Silverbacks. I can feel that they really do not appreciate being put on display like this at all. We need to start preserving their lands in order to save them and not house them in pens and say we are doing them any kind of favor. To me he is not annoyed with Lope its the humans he is annoyed with.
That kid just doesn't know what to get up to next! Oumbi is the greatest dad. Patience of a saint. Love him. 💕💕💕💕💕💕
Sweet baby!!!!!😍 So adorable 😍!!!!! Dad's getting mad 😠!!!!! Wish they lived in the wilderness!!!!!😄
Thx Lope& SV for brightening up my day!!!Awhhh, my first gorilla love-Lope!😙🐵😙❤
I see they tried very hard to make their enclosure resemble their natural habitat.....NOT
I was just thinking the same thing! A brick house. Ffs.
The utter disrespect... The muscle of the jungle has now become the stay at home dad behind enclosed walls.
The Father is like boy if you don't sit down somewhere, this is adorable but it's sad their not in the natural habitat where they should be.
After all the hope, sweat and tears raising a boy ... he turns out to be a clown.

I'm feel so sad looking this... poor gorila.. 😢😢😢
The big silverback is completely stoic while the child can't stop clowning and goofing off, hahaha. Man, how humanlike is that?

Oumbi giving Lope the side-eye action is hilarious. I wonder if Oumbi is saying in his head WHAT WAS I THINKING ???
This is so funny. That little one tried everything, but he managed to stay back just enough. Dad kept giving him the eye, but son must have known just how far he could go.

Everything on this planet is our responsibility. However with all the corruption, complicated circumstances, lack of time, and downright ignorant, indifference, there can be no saving for all these beautiful animals. Everyone on the planet couldn’t all realistically agree to save our big lovable pets, so we’ll have to get used to telling our future generations that we killed off and took too much room for them to live with us. We’ just have to get used to vermin, pampered pets, and factory livestock as the only living animals in the future. That or irradiated, pollution living things or pictures of the big ones. It’s not pessimism, it’s all too realistic, sorry.
Zoos are for protection, conservation and serve the needs of the animals. They are not locked up like the dog pound
So funny how whenever he goes in front he makes sure there’s some distance between them. Best part though was when he ducks behind the corner to go back at 3:17 ish lol.

Man, I've got to get dad's workout routine. His upper body is massive. 😀
November 24, 2020. I think it was this year during the beginning of COVID-19 here in the USA that I found your channel, SV.
The first videos I saw were of little Lope trying so hard to get to see and touch his newborn brother Shuffai, but Ozala wouldn't let him.
Then there were the outdoor videos of Lope trying to play with Shuffai when his little brother would venture away from his mother's side.
Then there was the success-at-last moment when they were allowed to play together.
And always, Lope tapping his Dad to encourage play, but not succeeding.
"Tapping" is the gorilla way to invite play. It's not being a "nuisance",
Many serene moments of Lope cuddling with or playing with grandma Biddy.
Watching the kids grow up.
I have watched this particular video so many times, I can't even guess how many.
I'm so thankful for you and your uploads, SV. God bless you and keep you safe.

Big Gorilla: How can I leave this fucking place and never see a human face again? There must be some way. I got fed up.
Why is every video of the father in that same spot? Is he depressed?
So if you sit on the same spot everyday you're depressed? So you have to sit somewhere different all the time and don't have a favourite spot? 🤨Anyway, I've got over 100 videos of the family, and these are the only two videos where they are both in that spot. Lope is playing with his dad, who just wanted a little rest outside. A typical father and son relationship. Dad wants some peace in the spot he chose, but Lope being Lope has fun annoying his Dad.
Amy Enzenroth .. I think he is Amy... I’m going to look at more videos to see what there living conditions are like... several years ago this zoo was investigated for abusing its Elephants...
The zoo actually reported it and the keepers were sacked and arrested! It's funny, that bad things get dragged up like this, but all the good the zoo does helping many sanctuaries abroad don't get a mention. Twycross Zoo: We unfortunately live in a world where many species of both plants and animals are on the brink of extinction.
Twycross Zoo Conservation initiative contributes to conservation in the wild since 2006 and has supported over 55 conservation and welfare projects from many different countries around the world, including Ape Action Africa in Cameroon, Lola Ya Bonobo in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Cao Vit Conservation Programme in Vietnam.

I bet if you threw the silverback a tablet the first thing he would do is put his son up for adoption on Craigslist.
Lope is just fabulous
I like how the little one acts all tough but only behind the fence.
Beautiful animals, sad seeing them caged.
Shame on us.....they don't belong in a cage....
Exactly, shame on us.
If they weren't there they would most likely be killed by poachers. Sad but true.
@Anna K you are correct. There is more that could be done. But how much space is enough. Space cost alot of money. People also go to zoos to see animals they would never have a chance to see in the wild. If you make it so these animals can completely hide like they would in the wild nobody will be paying to get in. Then there will be no funding for these animals and the breeding programs that keep them from going extinct. In a perfect world zoos wouldn't be neccessary. Maybe if the people in the country they come from cared enough and had more strict poaching laws this wouldn't be a problem. There are two species of rhino that are completely extinct in the wild but thanks to the zoos they are breeding in captivity.
