I'm with you darlin', I turned 60 last week. Everyone has their own style, I do agree but personally, I don't want to embarrass my grand children. Loved the video and your ideas. Classy is so much better than tacky.
I feel that no matter what type of body or age people are. They should wear what they feel comfortable & happy with. There’s more people that have disabilities than what people realize & they like to dress a certain way because they are comfortable & happy. To each their own & others should not stare or judge them. 💜💛💚💙❤️
Good advice! I would love to see a video that also talks about things that add age to our appearance, as Gen X , I like balance , I don’t want to look like I’m trying to hold on to my teen years but also I don’t want to add age through my clothing.
Love all the good advice however I think the matching 2 piece outfits work very nicely. I have received many compliments from strangers as well as friends when I wear mine. They just need to be appropriate for whatever you’re doing, like airplane travel or by car. They are a bit of a trend and maybe not everyone can pull them off, but I think it beats looking worse in a leisurely comfortable outfit that many of us will put together themselves, and they’re a no brainer.😊
I agree, I’m 62 and I know my basic style, which has shifted of the years…I love trends for color or texture but only a pop works for me so I can update sensibly.🤷♀️
I am 71 and have no time or space for anything that doesn't make me happy. I dress for my lifestyle (mostly on a pedal bike); am slim and fit and love my legs; but got rid of pale yellow Levi's shorts that were just a tad too short for my taste. I do think it is reasonable to keep 2 sizes of clothing, for fluctuating weight. You might just need to reach in the back of your wardrobe for some investment item that doesn't fit right just now. Finally: a collection of good belts and scarves is timeless
Women should always be treated with respect no matter how they dress, a man seeing a woman in a short skirt should not think it’s an open invitation to him, if he thinks this he needs counselling, women should not be objectified and should be free to express themselves. We’ve been oppressed enough, freedom to be who we truly are does not need approval of anyone especially men.
Sorry Liz, I like wearing the head to toe matching sweater sets. I like Gaps Cashsoft and I don’t feel like I’m in pajamas, otherwise agree with you on the do’s and don’ts❤
I agree with all but the lounge sets. I just wore a lounge set to book club and was complimented. I don't feel the set looks like pajamas to begin with, so maybe this applies to what type of lounge set you are wearing and how you accessorize. Fun to hear, but always "each to his own" in what they choose to wear.
Right! I always wonder who the heck wears the crazy stuff they strut on the runways. I've never seen everyday people wearing them on the streets. I'm guilty of sticking with the same shoes, because I pick one pair that I love and literally wear it out, but also because I'm lazy about changing my shoes. I've trying to do better with footwear. I agree! One can look sexy without letting it all hang out! And we absolutely live in a world where it can be dangerous, too, unfortunately. Great video. I think I agree with you on all points.
Very good advice! I remember a quote from years ago regarding mini skirts: “If you’re over 40, you might have the legs for them - but you do not have the face.”
I'm very short and very short waisted. Pants never falll nicely on me, and I've had disappointing experiences with tailors leaving me out money and a wearable garment. I wear active wear to the gym, on the street and to the store. Petites are 99% of the time too long in waist, sleeves, pant, and skirt length. Shopping for classy wellfitting clothes is beyond me.
@StylishandGrateful again, skirts and dresses in petite are for 5'3" tall. I'm 4'11". Short skirts fit me knee to just below the knee. That's great. The problem is, I have not seen classic skirts or dresses in this length for my height. Juniors sizes may have them in the correct length, but the styles usually are not classic. I was hoping someone had a suggestion of where a very short woman could shop and eliminate the tailoring as mostly I've had costly poor experiences with tailors.
I remember your other video like this which I found offensive. I'm 64 and have no issue with anything in this video but I'm thinking of my daughter who's 34 and wears most of these things. I don't see that she and her friends will become conservative dressers when they are 40 in a few years. I don't think it's necessary.
Re: too revealing clothes. I was told as a teen, if you'll show it, men think you will share it. Maybe not how everyone feels but it has guided my style for a long time. If I want to be treated respectfully then I should dress and act respectfully.

I couldn't agree more with you , there actually is such a thing as age appropriate .

So true!💕 this is just for those who would like some direction.😊
I agree with you. I want to age naturally but gracefully. Thanks for the video!

Totally agree 👍 😊
I’ve recently just started posting myself. Did a video today on wearing vintage when you’re in your 60s. Fine line between cool and looking old.
Awesome 🌻 congrats!
Great advice. If only people would listen.
Great points, Liz! I see a lot of influencers touting those matching leisure outfits, and like you, I think they look like pajamas!
Always do! They’re great for lounging around the house or pjs😉🌻
Have to disagree with the graphic tee. I love them I wear them. I am 74.
I’m sure you rock them well 😊 thank you for sharing!🌻

Yes! I have to have a size up and down in my clothes too. My weight swings easily.😊

Totally ok Joann 💕 just my little opinion over here for people wondering. Not for people who love their favs 😊

That is good advice 🌻
Those generation labels are amongst the stupidest mainstream programs that exists 😆 I'm glad my clown world box aka TV has been off for 20 years
