    I'm no expert but I did the ceramic coating myself on my new X5 M60i. I watched a number of how to videos and reviews on RUclips. Purchased the right tools and products based on the reviews. Total cost less than $300. I enjoyed the process working on my new car!

      That's awesome, I'd never trust my clumsy self to do it on my own haha. But agreed, doing it on your own would save hundredsss and also good to know how to do it yourself since you can keep it maintained well in the long run!

    I was against PPF - watching some RUclips videos. Since April 2024, however, while waiting the 4 1/2 months for build & delivery of my Individual Rosso Corsa M440ix, I changed my mind. Because of the issues you mentioned, and to extend the showroom quality finish longer, I drove from the showroom at the car’s delivery to the pros at Automotive Aesthetic who installed full SunTek PPF then all was coated (including wheels) with Modesta BC - 04 Ceramic coating. Breathtaking depth of color! A huge added plus, minor scratches are self healing, and should paint protection film be more seriously damaged, it can easily be replaced.
    Get it. It’s worth it in peace of mind.

    • @BeamerView
      @BeamerView  2 месяца назад

      Good points! Forgot to mention the self healing feature, another reason why it's a must! I just saw a video clip of another vehicle that got scrapped but because it had the PPF on, the paint transfer was blocked and the driver was able to peel it off like it was nothing!

    I agree, I had local shop install PPF on front end & rocker panels of my new 2022 M240ix one week after purchase. Month later I use Liquid Graphene protection made by 303. Love it and put it on every 8-9 months and it’s slick as can be and so easy to wash

    Great decision! I’ve had PPF installed on my last 3 vehicles, as well as ceramic coating. I’ll never not have it again. I plan on getting the G60 done as soon as I get it

    I love the ceramic on my 2025 M440I. I loved it so much, I read up on how to apply it (I am handy lol) I Clay bar my 2023 Superduty and ceramic coated it. Much better shine and depth to the paint. Super simple to clean.

    This is off topic related to this video, but I would appreciate your thoughts on run-flat vs non-run-flat tires. Or just refer me to a prior video where this has been discussed. I find your videos super helpful for both our x5 and 760I.

    • @BeamerView
      @BeamerView  2 месяца назад +1

      Sure, haven't discussed it yet, but good idea for me to add that one to the list! So one of the things to mention is that they are starting to go away from run flat tires, so first i'd confirm yours has them.
      Couple things I like about run flats is yes the peace of mind knowing that if I were to get a flat then I could keep driving on it, which I've had to use once in my 5 years of driving BMWs.
      Some say run flats do cause more road noise but i've never noticed it.
      BMW is going away from run flats for their newer cars since it's not something a consumer tends to encounter often, on top of that BMW offers free road side assistance for a few years on new BMWs so this also is another reason why.
      I personally would be fine either way. If I had to pick one, I would not mind run flats since it would prevent me from staying on the side of the highway for a long time.

    I bought a ceramic coating for my X5. Since then my neighbors sprinkler went wild and caused as lot of water spots on the paint and windows. They are not removed in a car wash, even when scrubbed by a microfiber cloth. The water clearly did not roll off the paint like it is advertised. What is a good way to remove the water spots? Also do you have a recommendation for soap in a pressure washer?

    • @BeamerView
      @BeamerView  29 дней назад +1

      It may have been that the water was dried onto it by being exposed in the sun. It can happen sometimes, any Adams brand soap is a good one, I have their whole life of products that I use and are safe to use on vehicles with ceramic coating, etc.

      I didn't quite get the part number when I ordered it, best bet would be to contact a dealership's part department and ask them, they may require your vin number.

    I watched your video a lot and you seem to know a lot. Do you think it is a good idea to upsize tire size? Stock size is 245/35/20 Front and 275/30/20 Rear. Planning to upsize to 245/40/20 and 275/35/20 due to the many potholes in my area. Will the upsizing void warranty and do any harm to the vehicle? Thanks!

    I have a 2024 540i. Can i get an eye brow tint? If so, do you recommend it?

    • @BeamerView
      @BeamerView  2 месяца назад

      Most places do eye brown tint as well.
      I've personally never had it before and would not bother since I would just use the sun visor and fold it down, so that way I have the best of both worlds. Also note that eye brown tint may not be legal in all places so keep that in mind.

    How can I replace the bmw emblem on the hood? Can I do it myself

    • @BeamerView
      @BeamerView  2 месяца назад

      I would recommend going to a professional, it is possible to do it, but you risk a good chance of scratching the outer part of the roundel that is the actual hood. It should be quite cheap to get it done by a detail shop.

    Is your car a collector's car? No
    Are you gonna keep the car forever? No
    Is it cheap to PPF and Ceramic coat the car by a pro? No
    You wanna make someone lots of money quick unnecessarily? No
    Do you wanna have a tech with not much experience do your car and having to pay again? No
    Its not worth just take care of the car, use touch up paint.
    Save yourself thousands and thousands of dollars.

    • @BeamerView
      @BeamerView  2 месяца назад +1

      Touch up paint is useful, but even though if you apply it, it will never look 100% how it was before. But def great points mentioned, it comes down to how much one would value their vehicle. Since many of us are BMW drivers, it's safe to say that we would go the extra mile to take care of our vehicles. I have a honda as a daily, and haven't done jack to it lol, so goes to show.
