If you have two decent guards, this play is pretty hard to stop. The genius of this play is that it takes advantage of DE's who are taught to squeeze when the Tackle blocks down. The DE basically blocks himself and the Fullback just keeps pushing him inside. We ran this play for 3 years at the HS level and was easily our best run in yards per carry.
This has no business being called a buck sweep, because it's not showing a buck at all. If the QB instead of bootlegging faked a trap run in the middle, THEN you could call it a buck sweep. The complementary play to it would be the actual trap, wherein the QB after faking the handoff would run behind a trap block by that left guard; the right guard could still sucker pull to make it look like the sweep, or release to the LB.
They have two variations of a dive threat when the Wingback motions into the backfield eight yards deep behind the Tackle. After the Sweep fake to the Halfback, the Wingback will take the handoff and track the Center's hips for Trap or Inside Zone. Page 244 Auburn 2013 Playbook. The other is a direct snap to the Fullback which was done during his time at Shiloh and Springdale. That's found in Gus Hurry-Up No Huddle Book from 2003.

Agreed!! The Bucksweep sets up so much of your other plays when the defense is reacting to something you're doing!!
And folks if all 20 of those things happen we have a great chance at a successful play
Brother come on wing t is one of the most effective offenses. You don’t like the wing t?
Yep gotta have some athletic guards , so the opposite of what we had this yr.
This is almost like a flexbone sweep correct?
The Delaware Wing-T
We run the same thing
