I absolutely love Ram but the payload in this truck is criminal. Why would you need 850 LB FT of torque when you can only place 1500 LBS in the truck. You will not be using much of a gooseneck with that rating and you will be hard pressed to find a fifth wheel with 1,000# pin weight leaving the other 500 LBS for passengers and cargo. My advice to anyone would be that if you truly want or need a Cummins Turbo Diesel, get a 3500 single wheel or 3500 dually so you can truly use the potential towing power of that engine set-up.

These are top of the line every bell and whistle imaginable. You can get into any of the big three for 25k less if you don’t need all the creature comforts. Unfortunately for us as consumers trucks are the manufactures biggest profit vehicles and crazy in demand and they know it. People are buying trucks as family vehicles with the ability to tow more, carry more and are just more capable. I would definitely say this particular trucks payload is incredibly low for a 3/4 ton. Engines, transmission, axles, and interior amenities are only limited to your imagination and pocket book. Also in a lot of states you wouldn't have to deal with def or egr systems as well.
