Flo I couldn't really understand my interviewer, and the wording of the question made me slip up and make stupid mistakes
bballdaniel3 yeah that’s how it was when I interviewed for the MACH program but they ended up flying me out. Hopefully this time I’ll get a job 😅. Just keep trying I know a lot of ppl who did and didn’t get it the first time and ppl who got it the second time going thru the process

I've been a dev for two years now and I've been thinking about going the PM route. This video was just one of those moments where it all crystalizes and you realize what you really want. I'm going back to school to become a PM. *high on emotions af*
How did the Transition go for you? Are you a PM now?
I'm going through the same career shift right now, so wondering how it happened with you.

You got an internship with Microsoft? And they are training you how to be a PM? Lucky!
Nice work. Also, do you plan on getting your PMP?
Hi, loved the video. Is a program manager the same as being a project manager?
i love this . im looking to transfer to u of h for a project management degree☺️
Should I persume my career as PM? Like is it worthy enough??
I added you on LinkedIn (Folorunsho). Could you give em some pointers ? I have my interview on Monday.
I subscribed!
I appreciate you bro!!!🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Great vid! Quick question though. I’m trying to become a project/program manager and I’m stuck choosing between majoring in computer science is information science. IS has a mix of business classes and managed classes but I’ve heard that tech companies like to hire CS majors for this role instead of IS. Is this usually the case?
I know I'm a year late--do u have an answer for this though? Im also trying to figure this out myself
is product manager the same as program manager ??
Hello what kind of qualifications do i need to be an IT project manager.....am certified in computer repairs alread
PM can stand for Project or Program or Product Manager. Which one are you?
program manager sounds a lot like project manager. I don't really know if theres a difference really but just more so what the company wants to call the role and how they use it.
PM is also used for Program Manager, your description says Project Manager, outside of Microsoft it also means Product Manage. PM is a confusing abbreviation :)
I am joining Microsoft asap 😊
Estoy estudiando sobre Gestion de proyectos en prepa en linea sep xd y llegue aqui, muy interesante
Donde estudias?
Not sure if you will respond but I was wondering if your PM position at Microsoft really used your CS skills? Like I do not have a degree in CS so when a tech PM position comes up the requirements or normally tech related so it auto filters me out. You discussed a lot about business skills you need like market analysis which I have. I also have the creative mind to invision products or services in the tech field so I have that creative mind but I can not create it. I am not sure if I made any sense but I guess I wanted to know if you met or know any PM in the tech field that isnt an expert in CS and programming but has strong business qualities? Also if a position for a entry level says CS degree is required to apply but you have PM experience what would you do? I feel like your application just gets deleted without computer science as a degree instantly
If you don't have CS's degree, you should show that you'r good in CS even without any CS degree, if it's not then better go to the sales department.
Steven H so there are definitely PM’s with no technical experience, as long as you’re able to understand what’s technically feasible and what’s not then you’ll be fine. You’re gonna have to stand out in other ways If you don’t have Coding experience, so design or any business acumen will definitely help. Personal branding will get your foot in the door and let your skills do the rest!
@@quisvlogs Hey thank you for responding! I appreciate your advice a ton. Unfortunately when I wrote my comment I assumed they did not require technical experience or a technical major for entry level pm jobs since their internships do not require it. I was wrong to assume that and unfortunately have been denied to a couple of entry level pm position for Microsoft. I am about to just enroll in a terrible and cheap community college just so my application would be looked at for an internship. Not sure why they limit young professionals with a degree that have work experience managing projects in a different industry in their internship program. Seems pretty like a backwards way have thinking . But either way I appreciate the time you took to reply with some advice on my desired career path. Thank you !
This is amazing, man! Thank you. I just applied for a PM role at Microsoft. Any tips or expertise for getting an interview and how to prepare?
Brian Bernard
1. Personal branding, build one make sure people know you.
2. Interview specific books (cracking the PM interview)
congrats man! im tryna gett an internship too, lol.
You’ll get one man!! Stay persistent!
@@quisvlogs thank you!!
So PM is a program manager.. ok.
Lose the gum please. Awesome video! Keep i tup
I really enjoyed watching your video and hearing what you had to say. Please lose the gum ...
Darth & Kali LOL will do!
PM? Program, project, or product? Using PM is too broad because it stands for many things. If I will guess I will say yours is product. Anyway, good luck
