I installed the V-stream on my R1250RT and absolutely love it. Made a huge difference for me

same experience here when i put the large wunderlich on my XR: Lots of buffeting and wind and rain in my neck. I have better results with a small extra deflector (givi) that i can install at a slightly different angle and at just a little under my line of sight. (i'm 6'2", just like U)

I have the Werkes tall windshield on my RT and it's WAY better for my height and needs.

Surely if you have to lower it as you said by a couple of inches, then you are pretty much at same height as the standard screen, but thanks for the test, by the way I think you put the holding bars on upside down when you fitted the new screen, many thanks Bob.

The taller windshields introduce more buffeting. That is exactly what creates the dirty air that is hitting you from the back.
Picking a windshield position where your eyeline horizon stays above the windshield tends to result in cleaner airflow.
I believe we arrived at same conclusion as the video author. Yet there is an element of rider’s personal preference. If someone does not do freeway riding they may not be noticing buffeting effects so much for instance

My 1200RT was perfect; it was quiet with no buffeting, but with a push in the back at speed which I didn't mind. I have found my 1250 is comparatively noisy, although i don't have the quietest helmet. I then bought BMW's largest screen and it has improved things a lot, but it is not as quiet as I remember my 1200. I think that the only differences between the 1200 and 1250 are the shape of the fairing and the option 719 seat which is slightly higher. I have resorted to wearing ear plugs again.

Thank you for this test and comparison. What is this accessory just above the screen ? A plastic piece in the shape of a triangle.

It's some sort of stock plastic trim, i'm not sure if it has any purpose.

Only possible in very dry places, Try looking through a windshield in winter, at night in the UK, especially after a few months of use, once it's nicely tarnished!

That's a good point. With RT I could probably lower the windshield to the point where I don't have to look through it. In rain that would be also beneficial to create some airflow on the helmet to blow the raindrops away.

I'd opt for a car for travel in the winter, but to each their own.

I bought BMW GS OEM mirror mounts from ebay, the part numbers were 32728532971 and 32728534366. and Ram ball studs with M10x1.5 threads.

Just lower the new windshield a bit from top position & the back wind will disappear.
