Amber vs smoke kinda depends on the color of the car to be honest. Epic Build, you guys killed it as always!
Clear/smoked every time. Let the body and the paint speak for itself, the existence of side markers is a necessary evil, I don't want them to stand out any more than they already do. Even on yellow cars I hate the amber. I'm actually surprised by this take from Tommy, amber is a US/EU thing and most of the JDM stuff has clears, plus he's a big black/silver/quiet color kind of guy. Amber corners could work with gold or brass wheels maybe? But even then still probably no.

Amber belongs on early 90s cars like the R32 and E36, but on later cars like the R34 clear/smoked is the way imo

Always depends on the color of the car. Blue and black look amazing with amber while silver or red look way better with clear indicators imo.

I agree with Tommy the ambers are the way to go. Smoked and clears just remind me of the early 2000s mini truck days. What's next a tweed interior 🤣 but all in all it's a killer build! great work. Seeing it at grid life the videos don't do it justice

TJ should get from UK Kill all wipers Flush wiper delete kit I have it on my car and few of my friends has it on their VAG's and it really is 10000x times better than any silicione or plastic plugs.
Pretty much the only thing I dislike about TJ's R34 are the black wheels. LOVE the wheels....just not a fan of black against the MP2.
See I think the black wheels compliment it well. They look correct. OEM +

Orange lights all day, except on the midnight purple cars, I feel like the smoked looks cleaner with all the different colors throughout the paint, on all other colors orange lights are the way to go
i only like clear’s if they’re oem or if they NEED it. eg6 sir corners look so much better than usdm corners even though they have an amber bulb inside
Definitely a fan of Amber corners, when I saw him putting on the smoked lights I was like wtf is he doing? And I'd do the valve cover the same color as the Brembo calipers

Gotta agree with Tommy on the Amber. At least in Midnight Purple II. The contrast of the amber on the purple would have looked more OEM, which I think was the goal of the build. I’ll give #10 that Tommy didn’t, I would have used a laser level, tape measure, and masking tape to make sure the Nissan emblem and V-Spec emblem were perfectly straight and level. The car has too much invested into it to eyeball the location for the emblems IMO.

Amber all day. I also agree with you on the HKS Super Turbo Ti. Had the Tomei Ti on my R33. Hated the way it sounded, threw it in the woods and bought a Super Turbo Ti. Best decision ever.

Clear lenses with black housings is the go to for me, had a euro set of headlights on my old ‘00 Impreza and I loved them. Although tbh TJ’s smoked lenses aren’t that bad, in Canada everyone blacks out their taillights completely it’s heinous

Im done with dark rims on dark cars. A set of OEM silver LMGTs would have finished this nicely for me.

the brembos got me like they are really good..its like a rare color to match with the midnight purple 2 its shinin
The fact the black couplers have red core hose colour is gash. If they’re black they should be black all the way through. I did my alloy nismo pipe kit in black cerakote and got generic couplers that were black all the way through! Great shout on the black clamps though! Will look killer on mine too

I’m team amber too, kept them when I had my 4 door integra
Amber for sure swapped all my lights on my EVO 9 to all oem JDM amber front, rear, and side markers. If not amber clear but never smoked

There was a black R34 with dealer plates still on it cruising east on I-10 in Houston today. Absolutely stellar, went by fast enough that I couldn’t catch it for a photo. Wonder who the lucky owner was and how it looked in the bay and all the other little spots they are known to rust in. More work for Tommy coming in every day. 😊
Orange / Amber looks sexy as hell. I also like clear with switchback amber lights.
I agree with tommy on the tomei, I haven’t heard a single tomei exhaust car that sounds good. They are all just way to loud and loud doesn’t mean it sounds good.

Amber corners are more correct for US roads and I think they are more appealing. If you are one to hate the amber, then I’d say TJ choose well with the smoke instead of clear.
im team amber as well. agree on exhaust, tomeis weak af for this level of build...should be full oem+ with nismo ti. needs nismo seats and the other thing I hate is the arc piece..its very out of place for this build.

oo an amber is tough I love amber too but I do also think it depends on the overall aesthetic, car color and car specifically I do like all three options
but I do have the ambers on my 02 bugeye and jdm yellow fogs
Smoked would be my choice for dark colour car and clear for a light colour but well I do live in 🇫🇮 so its the nordic way I think

Theres only two things I'd change about the car. Wing risers and a different color wheel. The car wouldn't look black with a bronze or white or even silver wheel. Wheel choice is on point, wish they were a little wider maybe, or wider tire, but it's a 10/10 car for sure. Oh I'd get a clear lens for the rear red bumper light. It just looks strange on any MP car. But your and TJs vision together is top tier! Legit a brand new car. You know LZ is getting to V2 ASAP now.

Nah I agree, never liked the tomei exhaust on r34. The best sound for the rb is with the hks hi power.

I vote for the smoked lights. When they are done right they look good.
Z-Tune + LMGT4s is the NPC build of R34s. LMGT4s don't even look good, people just buy them because they're expensive and for status reasons.

It depends for me if the car is white - clear; dark color-smoked; red, orange, blue- amber
Clear on my cars but amber can look good on some color like purple, yellow, british green.
amber vs smoke depends on the car and build year. I like smoke on this, but on e36/46’s and r32’s amber is the way, smoke makes them gross.
Honestly I’m not a huge amber fan and especially with the color of the car I’d go amber on that specific vehicle.
On this smoked works but depends on car colour as to what i'd pick.

Amber lights totally depends on the color of the car. With MP2 you could go either way, with white you have to go amber every time. Too many factors to list.

You can't say you're done with RUclipsrs cars yet, you haven't done a build for Grant yet. If he ever gets a R32, R33, or R34 you need to convince him to let you build it because it would be an awesome collaboration because you guys are great friends
