    both those actors are phenomenal, really bringing the characters to life. i was brought here looking for things with andrew scott, but was also very happy to see a Benedict Cumberbatch quote at the end!

    He was just born to be an actor

    Stunning.
    For a long time, I thought it was pointless trying to capture the magic of theatre on camera; the 2002 Old Vic / Yaël Farber / Richard Armitage production of The Crucible proved me wrong, and the 2017 National Theatre / Marianne Elliott / Andrew Garfield / Nathan Lane production of Angels In America absolutely blew me away.
    I'd still be convinced there's no point putting a short excerpt from a play on screen if I hadn't seen this. In tears.

    Saw this in the early 90's in England and have been in love with ir ever since. Wish I could have seen this version, Love Andrew Scott.

    Andrew, why did you make me laugh so much then make me cry? And Dominic, I can't believe you would punch Sherlock in the face but hug Moriarty >.< Love them both, by the way

    Two of my favourite actors performing a touching scene? My little heart can't handle this.

    Angels In America has recently become one of my favourite plays after I saw a production at my uni. Its such an amazing show. I would highly recommend reading it if you get the chance! Would love to see more of Andrew as Prior its so different to anything Ive ever seen him do before but I reckon he could smash it with the right creative team behind it.

    Andrew Garfield is wonderful in this role, but I have to say - Andrew Scott IS this role. ❤❤

      andrew garfield is okay. to me there is no replacing a gay actor. i was just watching the national theatre online version w garfield and got to this scene and to me, it is painfully obvious that a straight actor cant fully do this role justice.

    • @YooToobBurner
      @YooToobBurner 8 месяцев назад +1

      I don’t know if Andrew Garfield being straight has anything to do with it. Scott is clearly the superior actor of the two.

      @@YooToobBurner i take your point, maybe not, maybe im seeing something thats not there. but i agree that andrew scott is magnificent, so is garfield

      I always hate this pathetic response. Just fucking own it. It made you cry, so fucking what. Just accept that as a reasonable response.

    I don’t know who did it better between Andrew Scott or Andrew Garfield

  • @scottw6704

    I was more taken in by the reaction of "Louis" - I think the "Prior" monologue could have had a bit more impact. Before the attack begins, no I don't know these actors, yes I know the play, yes I know what it's like to get an AIDS diagnosis and turn myself off, become jaded and make self-deprecating jokes.

    • @SANEDICTPYT
      @SANEDICTPYT  10 лет назад +3

      Well if you mean this particular Angels in America play featured Andrew Scott, you can't find the whole thing 'cause this is just an excerpt they did on the occasion of the National Theatre turned 50, among other excerpts from various successful and important plays that ran at the NT till today performed live by well-known British actors & actresses. However they did release DVD edition of the National Theatre's 50 years on stage if you wish to watch the whole 50th anniversary thing. I reckon you could try Amazon or just go to the national theatre shop official site. Should be available there :)

    o my god how can anyone watch this after the genious movie?

    • @djmotise
      @djmotise 6 лет назад +1

      See the NT/Broadway production, and you'll never want to see ANY other version again, including the film, which was not genius btw.

  • @djmotise
    @djmotise 6 лет назад +1

    Wow, are they ever so wrong for this. Awful cringeworthy scene.

      This was brilliantly portrayed...much more intense than the film. What was your critique on the acting?
