Andrew Garfield as Johnathan Larson is incredible, Andrew Garfield as Eduardo Saverin is incredible, Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man/Peter Parker is incredible. Andrew Garfield in anything is incredible even his bad movies like "Mainstream (which I could not finish).

How is this only seven minutes?? It feels like 20, there are so many emotions and angles and tones in this scene alone. These men are amazing actors and Andrew😍.. my God he's amazing! I saw him in Silence and was just heartbroken over it. He so graciously and completely melds into these characters but it's all him in the background. He becomes these characters, mentally and emotionally. He takes on these roles as emotional and physical experiences. He plays roles that he believes in, he truly wouldn't represent a character unless he, himself believed in it and I find that incredibly amazing. He honors every role he plays 😱
Ik he's amazing you can see he's using his never-ending resentment to get past his heart ache, constantly wiping away tears but still telling him what's what. He makes Louis look like precious China - even with Prior's emotional outbursts you can feel the sheer amount of strength emanating from him

This is done by tensing those muscles so that the strain is moved away from your throat. You also see actors occasionally grip something physical, like the strap of a bag, a piece of clothing, or even just balling their fists up, to help them achieve the same effect. It's the safest way professionals can shout without strain :DD
Seeing part two on closing day in NY was like a dream. Already totally impressed by Andrew’s acting chops, but this part was on a different planet. It was a gift to myself after breast cancer. I wish I had had the strength to have waited outside to meet him after the show. I just wanted to look in his eyes and thank him for the gifts he gives his audience in every single play and movie.
This scene is so interesting. Until this point, we see Prior as the more vulnerable of the two. He is very sick, left by his bf of over 4 years, he thinks he is going insane, and he has hallucinated of seeing Louis more than once. But here we see his inner strength and the will to stay firm on not letting Louis back into his life even if he still loves him (and we know thanks to the dance scene that he still does). We had seen glimpses, but here we see that Louis may actually be the weaker of the two. And maybe part of him cries because he realizes that. Prior supported him, but when he needed Louis, he couldn’t do that. It must also be frustrating for him to see his own weakness.

Its fascinating to me watching the dynamic between the two characters, and how the power in the conversation changes so abruptly between them at several points during the scene. How it starts off with Prior calling the shots, until Louis reveals "I never said I wanted to come back". Its just so cruel and devastating for the character and the audience. I also like how the writing has that small moment of humour between them when they are talking about Joe, which shows despite the deep pain and guilt between them, they are still two characters who have known each other very well and have cared for one another at some point. I think It's more complex than a scene where both of them yell at one another the whole time. The shifting power dynamics reveal the true intentions of each of them in agreeing to meet up, and the mix of emotions really give a realistic depth to the relationship they once had. "You cry but you endanger nothing in yourself" is such a great line too.
it’s extremely sad to think about how prior is literally dying and louis leaves him, but prior would’ve stayed right by his side no matter what. prior really loved louis. it cut him down to his soul. my heart breaks for prior, and for anyone who has contracted aids - especially those who had no one.

If only I could be so clear minded when in an emotionally charged confrontation.

That's like two comebacks in one decade Pattinson and Garfield are better than what some give him credit for! Jared Leto's Morbius based on the trailer might be his comeback opportunity

I don't know... I liked the HBO series. It was dark, scary, and magical. It had funny bits, but this performance feels like an SNL skit. I much prefer the more serious HBO rendition.
