We ventured to the peninsular’s southernmost state of Johor to visit one of Malaysia’s former ‘new villages’ - an area of forced resettlement of Chinese by the British to separate them from the Communist guerillas during the Malayan Emergency Period.
Due to a lucky coincidence, we met and were toured around by one of Yong Peng’s original residents, Mr. Thong. And, when he was busy, we also ventured to a digger repair center, wholesale produce warehouse, and ironworks shop.

That's my birthplace ❤,i was born and raised in Yong Peng until my family decided to relocate to Singapore when i was 5.
