My '98 Ram 2500 Cummins pickup still has the OEM radio, which of course has a cassette tape player and no CD, USB, or 3.5mm input, let alone BlueTooth. Last time I even owned a playable cassette tape was at least 15 years ago, so it's time to replace the unit with something newer, that I can play MP3's on, preferably from a thumb drive. It's nice to know that removing the old radio is just a matter of pulling the dash bezel off. I have to replace the headlight switch, so maybe I'll do the radio too, at the same time. I'm just worried that getting that dash bezel off without breaking it is going to be a miracle. The truck is 25 years old, and we all know how brittle plastic car trim can be when it's that old.

Looking good dude. Another nice installation. Why anybody would want to hardwire, and do all that splicing and clipping off the factory harness connector is beyond me. Buy the extra wire harness, then all you have to do is match up the colors from each harness, solder them together and heat up the shrink wrap and you're good to go. Don't forget to slide that shrink wrap onto the wire before you solder them together. I like soldering and shrink wrap for the best possible solid connection. I'm not too keen on but connectors, and twisting the wires together and putting a piece of electrical tape the so 1960s, nobody should be doing that kind of crap installation.

I had a problem with my 96 Ram, installed a pioneer stereo with Bluetooth and new speakers in doors and mid range (regular cab) after a with the stereo working and listening to music, the audio stops and then stereo says "AMP ERROR" replaced all speaker wires and now it seems to be working now.

Is it an aftermarket radio? If the radio is aftermarket check wiring, if wiring is good you might have a loose or bad ignition switch

I got a 95 dodge, easy install, factory radio quit so I bought and installed a new one. Turned on no power… went over the wiring multiple times. What could that be?

It could be a fuse or just check your speaker wire and make sure it’s connected to the right wire from your truck to your stereo
