  • Improving your Wildlife photography is all about repetition. There are species that I photography time and time again, and each encounter leads to unique picture opportunities and a change to improve my images. Well, my most recent outing with Mountain Goats in the Rocky Mountains certainly did not disappoint. I've photographed Mountain Goats many times in the past, but this encounter definitely gave me my favorite results yet!
    Follow along this week as I take you with me on a backpacking trip, exploring the flower-filled meadows, alpine lakes and vibrant forests in the Rocky Mountains. We're in search of flowers, Goats and whatever wildlife we can find. These mountains are teaming with life this time of year and not only was I able to find and photograph the Mountain Goats, but also a Moose, some Pika, Birds, Marmots and more.
    Mountain Goats are always so much fun to photograph, check out my other Mountain Goat videos if you haven't already done so: • Mountain Goats

    Great video Jimmy and some excellent images as well. You never cease to amaze me in the efforts you make to get great images and video to entertain your viewers. You must be getting close to your Alaska Bear trips for this year. I hope everything goes really well for you and you get great weather and lots of Bear action. Thanks again for all your efforts and have a great week.

      Thank you, Keith, I always appreciate it! The journey is part of the reason the photography is so fun for me. These Goats are especially fun to track down and find. Yep, Bears are starting about now, headed out there shortly and it should be a fantastic summer this year, I hope you can join one of these years. Have a splendid week my friend!

    Your Pika image at 1:50 is superlative! I have spent many days afield on high elevation rockslides, specifically after Pika photos, but have never had a composition as nice as that present itself to me. Wonderful image!

      Thanks so much, he was pretty cooperative 😁 Pika are so much fun. They're pretty habitual to the areas they use in rock fields and will even use the same rocks as lookout points. I've found if I watch from a distance for a while and figure out which rocks they're using, I can position myself pretty well for the shot and composition that I want. Just takes a bit of time is all. I hope you get the images you want!

    Very peaceful video (you didn't take any video of the storm). I envy the ability to take such trips a lot. Thanks for taking us to see these animals! Beautiful.

      Thanks a bunch, Ott! No, I didn't get anything of the storm, I was so focused on finding cover and keeping my gear dry that I didn't get footage. Shame on me 😆 , maybe next time!

    Beautiful assortment of pictures. Wild flowers sure do add a great deal to the image. I was on my way to photograph goats near Jasper on my way to your workshop. Unfortunately the park was evacuated due to wild fires. Changed our route to look for stone sheep in the Northern Rockies.

    What materials did you use to make your flying hide

    • @JimmyBreitenstein
      @JimmyBreitenstein  2 месяца назад +1

      Are you referring to my floating hide? If so, it's really just rigid foam and wood. I've got a playlist for the hide and I explain more about it there. Let me know if you have any other questions!
