    It's great to see you looking beyond the "I just get mine at Costco" paradigm. If you are going to go carnivore, especially if you have the means, support people that think like Jacob Wolki. The world needs his message! Thanks for a great interview.

    See, now we are talking climate and environment in a SENSIBLE way. Not technocrat agenda , not greed. I will get into this if possible. At least I'll gladly eat the produce. Everybody talks about growing plants and that is of course not a good idea. Grow healthy animals and eggs. Then you'll grow healthy humans and environment.
    "Not the cow ,it's the how" GREAT slogan. Inspiring this Jacob Wolki. I'll look him up and subscribe.
    Thanks mates.

    I have Scottish Hilander cattle here in Ireland. They rarely need any help with birthing, spend all year outdoors on grass. Immune to most things that ail domestic cows. The beef is brilliant and the last one I put in my frezzer was 13 years old. They drop a calf every 11 to 12 months but often have 1st calf at about 3 years old. They are not such a good commercial animal because the market wants the big breeds but Angus is becoming very popular now so I am starting to cross them. Right now they are out in 200mm of snow, including 2 x 1.5 week old calves, no problem.

    @ 1:11:30: If I'm not mistaken, during the last 800,000 or so years of glaciations, temperatures have never risen to what we have currently - I would think that's more than enough time for plants to adapt.

  • @finagill
    @finagill Год назад

    If you want to improve the soil and are not able to keep livestock on your property then always keep a wide variety of different plants growing whenever possible. Ideally you will have at least 8 different types of plants spread across an area.

  • @neilnewinger3059
    @neilnewinger3059 Год назад +2

    Just to add a bit about another positive effect of CO2 to the growth of plants and actually even better climate. Plants have small openings - stomata in order to absorb CO2 and with higher levels of CO2 they need less of those openings. That causes them to better retain water and maintain environment with more moisture.

    • @Tmate4444
      @Tmate4444 5 месяцев назад

      Although with more CO2, many plants produce more sugars and less other nutrients.

    My issue with grass fed meat is it’s too lean. All beef is harvested at 18 months. If pastured animals could live 5 years their fat would be wonderful. The grain fed beef simulates the fatty beef on which we evolved.

    • @wolkifarm
      @wolkifarm Год назад +1

      "All beef is harvested at 18 months" is not correct. Beeves are generally processed when they hit a goal weight not a certain age. Feedlot animals may well hit that by 18 months. If you form a direct relationship with a farmer you could request to buy their old retiring cows direct off them. I have many customers who do this with me.
