- With the price of fuel still rising, owning a performance car has become difficult!!
So we put my Audi TTRS to the test...how well can it do on fuel for 500 miles...?

Great video, looking forward to more TTRS content. Sold my own Elise in March and then traded in my 135i coupe for a 2018 TTRS, was considering an M2 at the time (nearly yours but my Elise didn’t have the aero you wanted). TTRS is a great compromise for a daily sports car, surprisingly practical - I’m amazed you got 48mpg from it. I’m averaging 31.6 over nearly 5000 miles since April including a trip to Holland and now in Northumberland for a week.
You must have had a lot of self discipline on this trip, I find the sound of the engine on tap in dynamic too addictive 😀

@@DrivingBex I’ve got a TT-RS Roadster, if you ever do it again, on the Motorway, use cruise control & if you do have to brake try to get itnto the highest gear as soon as possible. I went on a 4 day fishing trip last weekend in another car I’ve got - a RS6 Performance and I played the Tight Arse game with the fuel going down the A1 and tried to get it into 4-cylinder mode as much as possible……it wasn’t easy because I’m a child & love the sound too much………..it’s been running at 740bhp for the last 3 years & attracts a lot of attention at the fishing!

I get around 35-40mpg on a long run / motorway cruise in my 2.4 n/a 5cylinder Volvo V70 (P80 platform)

I looked this up once and found that VAG cars have a built in reserve of like 45 miles after you hit 0 on the readout.
So you’d have made it home, but it does take nerves of steel to ride it out on zero
I definitely didn’t fancy risking it 🤣🤣
Oh and don't trust your cars computer. Do the manual calculation (start full tank, then fill back up to full for an accurate fuel quantity), use that with your trip distance and do the manual maths. Expect your car to be over estimating your MPG..
Was caught short on the M3 the other day and paying 2.15 a litre for 97 was emotional 😂

Bex, please please please don't run the car on only supermarket fuel. Put at least every other fill up or maybe every third one with premium higher octane, ideally a branded one.
You will actually get slightly better mpg with higher octane fuel.
