Of all the ideas Jones could have spitballed for KH4, I don't think I was ready for "multiverse with live action Disney meeting cartoon Disney". Holy shit I've never wanted something less.
Depressed 14 year fan (came into GT around 2009 in college) just wanting to let Brandon know that he has been one of the only consistently positive things in my life. I just paused while Brad (good name btw) was talking about Dead Cells and was reminded that I have never once see Jones listen to someone with less than 100% focus. It's a beautiful trait in a beautiful human. I hope 'retirement' continues to serve you well sir.
Somtimes when I listen to podcasts I have to wonder if the guys are really listening to each other. Brad was talking about Dead Cells and then Damiani asked him if any game has ever been made that was a rogue-like mixed with a metroidvania, because he thought it was a cool idea, and Brad said he didnt know if one had ever been made.... He had literally just said he was playing Dead Cells, that is exactly what Dead Cells is! 🤣
nervous active listening, you're thinking about what you want to say next while waiting for the other person to finish their paragraph and the whole time you're saying "oh ok" "uh huh" "thats interesting" to almost anything they say
Ehhh, everyone gets lost in their own heads sometimes when they should be listening to the other person. I wouldn't say it happens an egregious amount with the allies or anything.
I was litterally JUST thinking, "I wish they would do an episode where they caught up with Jones just to let us know how he's doing...". Like TWO days ago.
Is Brad playing Dead Cells on PS5? On Xbox, I can absolutely use the D-Pad and I find it rather essential to do so. Also, Damiani, Dead Cells basically IS the Metroidvania rogue-like you're looking for: permanent upgrades that allow further exploration of the levels, and on higher difficulties, exploration is heavily emphasized if you want any chance of taking out the later bosses.
Thanks for reading my Sort It Out! Paper Mario and the Origami King was the game I was referring to. When the post came, I had just quit the game for the day and had to write something. Didn't notice I had not mentioned the game down. Always great seeing you Jones! Congrats on the book!
God, what I would give to have Jones come back more often. Not in a full time role obviously, but just maybe once every two weeks for a random show. Like a warm blanket every time he stops in.
1:26:56 This is why I love Jones. You know he has something to say here, and he's trying so hard not to interrupt, but his body language is practically screaming it.
It’s insane how good Bluey is. My daughter’s only 1.5 yrs old so she likes the theme song and then doesn’t really pay attention to the rest so it’s mostly me and my wife paying attention and we’re hooked. The dad especially is such a good character
Triangle Strategy is such a wonderful game, I feel like it was soooo robbed at the Game Awards and loads of GOTYs, it’s such a digestible rpg/strategy. Everything is voice acted, and the story has no filler.
I feel the exact same way, it honestly depresses me on some level, especially when you have all these people crying about how Square Enix is dead or all Japanese games are weird, and over the top, yet this is a game literally about precious minerals. That's not even getting into how heavy the choices felt, I actually got sick to stomach deciding if I should sell out the refugees to protect your home. Then when I decided not to do it, I felt dread like I was going to have to deal with an unwinnable war.
The story is pretty heavy, too. I really enjoyed it, and the combat was insanely good. My only issue was that I found the characters a little hard to connect to, I honestly think it would have been mitigated by showing that gorgeous character art next to the subtitles to help me get a sense of the people rather than just relying on the sprites
Great to see Jones back with the boys! Dead Cells is a fantastic game that can get very addictive. I'm taking a break from it but eventually I may try out the Castlevania content. Considering Dead Cells is heavily inspired by Castlevania, I think they would be a great choice for a new 2D Castlevania! Great to see how things have kind of come full circle.
It's probably just me but I was interested in Andor from the first trailer because the "look" felt different from the other SW content. The sets and shots straight up looked better than the other volume-heavy scenes in other shows. Also, knowing Cassian wasn't some big $ legacy character had me suspect that it was produced differently ...like it might've had a smaller chance of corporate interference. A smaller chance of playing it safe. I have no idea how Tony Gilroy was approved for 12 episodes in his 1st season but i'm very glad he got it!
Brandon K Gann's take on Sony / Jim Ryan is frustratingly missing the point. Sony isn't fighting Microsoft in court. FTC and other foreign legislators are suing Microsoft. Sony, like any other person or entity, are exercising their right to form and submit observations like any other public party might in any other lawsuit. Just because Sony says stuff doesn't mean it'll be considered by the FTC. Likewise, there is a lot of shit slinging going both ways. Currently, both Microsoft AND Sony are using the FTC to basically mediate a barrage of subpoena's going in both directions. Microsoft keeps requesting Sony present documents on their exclusive deals going back as far as 2019. Sony refuses to do so. FTC says it is relevant and they need to. Microsoft doubles down and wants a subpoena for documents on exclusive deals going back to like 2009 lmao. FTC allows MS the chance to explain why they need to go back that far, MS doesn't respond to FTC. The subpoena is dismissed. The reverse happens multiple times too. Sony asks MS for documents, doesn't respond to FTC, then their request is denied. The lawyers are just making the process a living hell for rival lawyers. It's a battle of attrition. Sure, Sony might be fanning flames - but this is an FTC vs MS lawsuit. Not Sony vs MS. And the FTC is doing their job as legislators in the US. Not every company should be allowed to swallow the others up willy nilly without scrutiny. This issue is so far beyond these micro-arguments and the idea that it's PlayStation vs Xbox. I wish people would do a little more research before creating these hot takes.
I'm surprised this didn't come up during the Castlevania talk and when Johnes said he played a lot of Vampire Survivors but I really think that game might have paved the way for whatever new Castlevania will come, it's two very different kinds of games, but once people are hooked on the Gothic vampire vibe, there's no turning back, I hope Konami takes their time and delivers an outstanding 2D Castlevania. Bloodstained 2 is also in the works and should benefit from this.
Damiani - if you want a roguelike metroidvania, check out "A Robot Named Fight!" - that's probably the best realization of that concept, but either Rogue Legacy 2 or Chasm might also scratch that itch!
I understand where Dons coming from but I like it when games integrate the DLC into the main game. It’s probably just my Souls bias but I love booting the game up and finding a new weirdo/trying to figure out how to access the DLC. Makes it feel more organic and makes the finished product feel more cohesive, replaying the Souls games the DLC’s pretty much feel like any other part of the game now. I feel like situations where I JUST want to play the DLC are pretty rare. I like the sentiment of his sort it out but I feel like making all DLC stand alone could potentially limit things creatively.
@@EasyAllies Sorry about jumping to conclusions, Blood. This was the takeaway I got from Isla and Kyles conversation, and I'm glad to be proven wrong. And sheepish for speculating about the lives of others.
As a big gaming fan and parent of 3 young ones (oldest almost 7), I feel like there should be an "age rating" and "ACTUAL PLAYABLE AGE RATING" haha. Like some of the low age (Age 3) stuff is not actually kid friendly playable. AND there should be way more couch co-op stuff, def more than 2 players... Big shoutout to a game like Movin' Out 1/2, having those accessibility stuff to make it more fun to play with young kids :D! And yes Kirby is def super kid friendly, unlike the Mario games haha. But my oldest is now way into Minecraft and just understands so much more in that game than me lol :). Lego games are mostly solid too, just super messy and user unfriendly sometimes. Also Paw Patrol good starter games for the young ones!
It's funny that Jones thinks Angea is anything like Primrose, I think he forgot that story in Octo 1 was a murder revenge story that started with prostitution brothel.
Yeah that was legit confusing. It's such a shame most of the allies skipped that game, especially since Damiani seems to really liked what he's played of 2 and he's only done one chapter.
I just realized Jones could single-handedly increase the prestige of TGAwards by at least 20% if Geoff got him to be a co-host or just speaker voice of some kind throughout the night
The pure joy that surged inside me when the picture comes up and I see Jones at the desk ❤️
Much love and respect!
Same!!!
This is like running into an ex that you convinced yourself you were over but then it rekindles all those old emotions and you want more again 😭
Damn that nostalgia that hit when seeing Jones. Miss the old crew.
Hope we get an update on Ben even if its just a Skype call or something.
Whats the lastest update on Ben?

Every time I see Jones it brightens my day. Glad to see you!
feels so good to see jones on a 3 hour podcast
Of all the ideas Jones could have spitballed for KH4, I don't think I was ready for "multiverse with live action Disney meeting cartoon Disney". Holy shit I've never wanted something less.
Jones always brings such a nice energy with him
So joyous to hear Jones gush over some Disney again ^^
So good to have Jones back even if it's just for the occasional podcast.
So glad to see Jones again, I was just recently thinking about how much I missed streams featuring Amanda and Sophie as well
Jones! Nice to see ya!
First frame trap I've watched in a whle and I'm really enjoying it. Brad majorly stepped up as a moderator/host.

I read the video title and immediately smiled. This made my entire day, I love and miss you Jones!!!
Jones talking about his son watching Forza is so cute. "Different car!"

I normally listen to these, but I had to see Jones so I came to the video - and wow, Damiani is looking great!
Having Jones here is like seeing again that one girl you liked back in school who moved to another city, but you never had the courage to confess to.
Octopath 2 is fucking amazing.
