Happy Saturday! Should I make the dragon piece into a vase or leave it??? I’m so tempted to DIY it 🤷🏻♀️ I keep going back and forth.... 🤪
Vase it case it on and paint the bull xxxx
Go to home depot and buy a tub of already made concrete. You could put some paint in the mix to match the buffalo.
YES PLEASE!!!! FANTASTIC IDEA!!!!
Definately turn it into a propagater... as soon as you said it I was like YAAASSSS!!! 🖤
Looks like it could make a small 2 tier shelf up against a wall but please don’t paint it. Maybe you could find a small Viking long boat to put on the top part 🌙🌊🧝♂️
Standard schnauzer, most definitely, I’ve had mini schnauzers for year and years
Yes Schnauzer!! That's What I see too
I kind of agree...schnauzer statue.
I was looking for this comment. Definitely a giant schnauzer 👍
@@hannah748dale agree because of the legs been longer than a standard
I have both miniatures and a 8 month old Standard schnauzer puppy! Schnauzers are the best. Boy I want the schnauzer
Speaking of washing rugs.... I’d love to see videos of how you clean up vintage finds that need some sprucing up! Like rugs, silver, cutting boards and other wood items, leather, fabrics, clothing, textile/macrame etc. Love your style Laura! Thank you!!!
That is a great suggestion!
You are my favorite vintage RUclipsr. Your basement is wonderful. So....I started to sort of sob at the end. Between the beauty of the landscape, the music and memories of exploring with my husband before he died, nine months ago, I was hit with all sorts of feels. Our 26th wedding anniversary was the 18th and I am extra emotional. Good tears, you know. Tender and filled with good memories. It makes me happy hearing about how you take time with your husband. I promise, spending time with people we love is the best investment anyone can make.
Christina it sounds like you and I are in the same boat, I also would have had a 44th anniversary on the 19th and know what you mean about missing spending time with my beloved husband. We would love to hunt for rocks and I have many in my collection of times we spent together. So stay strong and try to enjoy the beauty around you and know that you're not alone😌💙
@@kathleenstevens1814 Hugs. Thank you.
I 2nd this comment, totally! Love her vibe, style, enthusiasm and knowledge! Can't get enough!
Awww I love this. My heart goes out to you Christina!💖
@@kathleenstevens1814 My heart goes out to you as well Kathleen! My stepdad's birthday just passed in February. I know my mom misses him every day. Sometimes I think the RUclips community is the most warm and love when people share things like these.
Dang girl, do you pray to the Patron Saint of Thrifting before you leave the house?! What a haul!💃🆒
Laura is a true magnet!
I've never seen a goodwill with as much cool stuff as you find. Only exception was the Goodwill Vintage Boutiques we had in Indiana before Covid lockdown. They had premier items
@ Judy Faul I don't know how you missed getting a heart with this one! I laughed so hard! You have a great sense of humor! I'm sure she just missed it. I can't imagine getting through all of the comments she gets, so here we are a year later and I'm giving you a heart cuz you deserve one!❣
000
I can hear your smile when you talk.
Miss Recycled Life. I wish you too would bring it back, miss your crazy friendship
Dear Laura, i'am from Germany ans i think the dog is an giant schnauzer 😍 best wishes Marion
Thanks for all that nature footage at the end. So beautiful!
Hi Laura, it's wonderful to see you claim your own direction with joy and fabulousness 💛
I am loving that we’re getting two videos a week!
I’m keeping em coming! 🥳 Thrifting as we speak 😆🙌
@@leftcoastrevivals love that!!! you have an amazing aesthetic. love love love!🥰❤
Me toooooooo!😻
Yes, I was surprised but absolutely pleasantly.
@@leftcoastrevivals Congrats on the 40k subs too!
I have to tell you that Recycled Life was my favorite RUclips video , I'm sad your not doing it anymore.
The nature part was just gorgeous! And the armpit part was hilarious!
Yes! 😍 & 😂
Armpit was SO RELATABLE lol ♡
Omg 🤣🤣🤣🤣 my hole in my armpit, 😆💞🦋🕊 that cracked me up
Love the end!!It was so relaxing to hear the water rush through the steam.Wow!
Fill in bull's chips with modeling paste before painting. You can even form the missing tip of the horn with it and sand it to final shape
I've done that very thing on some chipped/cracked pottery.
The salt and pepper shakers are Ken Edwards pottery. His studio puts insect marks along with the signature of the artist.
Get into staging. Serious cash.Your designs are unique
I agree, she has serious talent for it
Laura, I want to say you are so amazing. I will miss you and Selena together ( especially when she makes a snort or squeals at a great find) I will keep following you. Go forth and be great!
The woodland and river show at end of video, so beautiful that it brought tears to my eyes!! I humbly thank u!!💕💕🦋🦋💕💕
Oh my gosh Laura. That was the most insane haul. You found some awesome items. Good to see your items getting approval from your fur babies.
Thanks for the videos. You are my favourite you tuber to watch.
Your basement looks fantasic Laura. The scenery at the end was breathtakingly beautiful. Take care! ✌💞
Loved the beautiful nature scenes at the end, thank you for sharing
Look like a beautiful place to go mushroom hunting. Thats such a relaxing adventure to try.
Hello from a mountaintop in east TN. An easy way to make a plaster repair for the awesome bull is to take a small amount of basic wall spackle and add just a little white glue and mix together. Simply put it on with a palette knife or a similar tool and dabble with a sponge or piece of crumbled paper or fabric to match the texture. Mix acrylic craft paints to color match...I know you will have an eye for that, it's an art. Since it already a matte finish you won't even need add a sealer for gloss. I use this technique dozens of times a year. I even plaster whole canvases as the base of my artwork. We have the same aesthetic and I enjoy the excitement you experience when you find your treasures.
Achingly positive and highly watchable. 🖼 🏺 🛒 Another triumphant video, Laura. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 🙂
The nature clips and soundtrack at the end, thankyou, I needed that. So beautiful.
You are spoiling us with two videos a week 🥰 love your style, love your treasures and love you ❤️😁
I love the plant idea for the dragon. I agree leave the bull be.
Love your basement space gorgeous.
The Northwest is one of the most beautiful areas of the United States! If you get a chance, GO! Laura Caldwell, I LOVE your style! I love what you find and love the vintage bohemian clothes you wear! Keep on doing what you're doing! Lots of love and luck in your treasure hunting! You are a delight!
My favorite piece that you found is the Persian rug. I like the dragon as it is.
The nature outtro was beautiful.
Sorry to hear The Recycled Life has come to an end. Appreciated your friendship and your "finds". having said that I wish you well on your new adventure
@Laura Caldwell That is a magazine holder not a record holder. Believe me I'm from the generation where every home had one! That is not a rooster candle holder, it's a Peacock meant to hold muti colored candles. Gosh I feel like a teacher or something today. 😉
When you live through the era your lessons are invaluable😉😉
Hi Laura. My name is faridah.i lived all the way in Perth Western Australia..
Love yr channel.your finds are most incredible and beautiful.
Continue with the joy of thrifting.
I love thrifting too....
It’s a Schnauzer. The best breed in the world!!
Totally agree my Auntie used to show them in the UK
That's what I thought too.
Wow, you find the best things, I think you are charmed!! The thrift stores here in Central California do not have the treasures you find! TFS! 💖
Thank you for the incredibly beautiful and soothing nature scenes.
I could watch your videos all day long. But I have to go find some wonderful stuff! You are an inspiration to me!
I would vote for mat black for the bull. To me, the rooster candle holder looks more like a peacock. I LOVE the T-shsped earring holder -- it's gorgeous. You scored! I seldom find anything!
The nature scenes were beautiful and soothing.
Hi Laura. I'm in the UK and recently found your channel and love it. Takes me back to my childhood which makes me very vintage lol. I think the dog is an Airedale terrier. My parents had one of those paper/record racks xx
I was hoping with the new office and new merch we’d see more TRL content. I pray you’re both well and taking care of yourselves and your friendship. Love to you both.
Hi Sara - Sadly the studio didn’t work out and we are taking this year to focus on our individual channels ❤️ Thank you so much for caring for us girls! It means a lot ❤️
Thank You Laura for letting us all know what is happening with you & Selena. Now we all know.
No more questions or speculations. You both brought so much joy, entertainment and value to the channel you shared. Just gonna miss you both together. Best wishes to you both on your new adventures. 💕
Laura, I really appreciate your response. It still would mean a lot to just have even just a joint TRL instagram post or something just to show a little love to those of us who followed, loved and supported TRL for years. I was feeling a bit blind sided, but appreciate even this comment. However, I completely support you and respect your privacy and will really miss you two together, and wish you both all the best in your individual journeys
@@maryallen1017 Sadly, this is just the same evasive answer.
I have enjoyed you all by yourself much better.
The beige, green, and pink rug looks to be an all-wool kilim. Alternately, it's wool threads on a cotton base. Hand washing will keep it beautiful for the long term. Wash only when needed. Hand wash with a small amount of very mild soap, lots of clean water, and a soft brush on a flat surface. Rinse until the water runs clear (that will be many rinses and some dye will come out.) Drape it over some furniture outside to air dry, which will take several days. Once it has stopped dripping, you can drape it over furniture in the basement to finish air drying. Do not roll until absolutely dry. Treat it gently and it will last for many decades.
Ken Edwards salt and pepper shakers... I'm in love with his quwarky playful folk art 😻
I've got the same metal basket, I place a hanging plant at the top and my dish towels rolled up in it. I love it. My in law gave it to me.
you have such good eye for design you know how to put everything together
I grew up with the 3 tiered hanging basket from the 70’s and 80’s
i don't know if you saw my comment previously about lowering the music volume in the voice over parts, but this video sounded great!!!!! i like how cheery you are and optimistic. we need more people like you to lift us up right now.
I noticed those Beatles prints really right away, and the albums in the record rack. Totally my faves! ❤️ ☮️
Love watching you but I do miss you and Selena videos 😉😉❤️
🐘 Laura,
Honestly....I'm stunned at what you find thrifting.😳
So many treasures ... you have the eye 👁 or your super lucky.🍀
I have never seen so many awesome items in one store.
Wowwwww......great viewing and thanks for sharing . 🙋🏼🇨🇦
I love the Beatles and beautiful nature too. Thanks for sharing your videos!
Thank you for the eye candy, especially the nature scenes at the end!
I think the doggie is a Standard Schnauzer. You find the greatest things at GW! The sculptural piece resembles a lady to me. Floral head and rounded shoulders...do you see it?
The ending was just beautiful. Thanks for sharing. 💓🦋
i know this is after the fact, but the dragon...i'd suggest using it for a towel rack. for touch ups on chips, etc, i use acrylic craft paint to touch up things such as bisque bird figurines. you probably know this, but for those who don't, get your basic colors (red, crayola blue, yellow, black, white, grass green, turquoise, magenta: from these you can make all colors. they cost 50 cents for each small bottle at walmart. they also have silver, copper and gold-tone acrylics, and interesting variations on color, such as sequin or licorice or pearl ones. get a small bottle of water-based "gloss varnish" coating in the same place you find the paint bottles if you want a slight sheen after the acrylic paint dries. those little bottles come in handy and some colors come in a larger size.
It is a newspaper holder - not for records ! Love to watch you !😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
Love the rug that you picked up today. Thank you so much for showing more beautiful videos from your scenic walks. Much love girl🌺
Maybe apply some gold leaf to the chipped parts of the bull and in other random spots to make it look intentional?
That sounds like a great idea. 👍
LOL. I just rewatched this video and thought the “nature” you shared with us at the end was a painting. It was so beautiful. I live in central Texas and it is HOT here. We see nothing quite like that. Glad you appreciate it as much as you do.
Loved everything, but the rug, OMG, fantastic!
So many treasures! Love that you decided to keep the sculpture as is. What a great piece in your space.
My ex is Persian and they would use a piece like that to eat on the floor for large gatherings such as Nowrouz, which happens to be today . ( that's why it's washable.)
Thanks for that info Wendy! That would make sense why it’s made to be washable.
My college friends from Persia often had their meals on lovely mats. It was like a version of our American picnic. After a nice meal we'd read our poetry and tell stories which was also their custom. Poetry Slams are very Middle Eastern and often done around central campfires as well. Fun times back then. ...Love seeing the great carpets Laura finds.
How easily can you get a big rug like that into even a commercial washer?
Love it all! But I just have to say ... what gorgeous cats! I love your design aesthetic. Before recently moving from a house to an apartment in another state, I donated everything that wasn't essential, so I'm starting with a clean slate. Your ideas are inspirational, especially the way you thought of modifying your dragon piece. What an imagination you have!
Love seeing your videos and all your finds loved the buffalo sculpture. Thanks for the beautiful scenery pics at the ends
Why haven’t you been shopping with the Bombshell? I miss you two together?
I actually prefer to see shoppers do their own videos. I have seen many of the videos with both ladies shopping together and just a personal preference to just see one person shopping and giving more attention to the items then to each other.
I like how good friends they are and how you can really see how much they enjoy each other when they go hunting together. Friends like that are hard to find!!
If you have a bar area the brass buildings could hold bottles of wine or liquor.
Surgery sucks and so does my pain but watching u and your hubby shop gave me the reprieve from the misery I am in, that u so much Laura.
I hope you feel better soon!
Oregon is so stunning. It has been bumped up to one of my top 3 states to visit because of all your footage you've shown us. Thanks for that.
That landscape pottery piece looked like it was signed "Daphny" to me..
The wooden candleholder is, I believe, a Male Peacock. The comb sits back, not forward. Loved the Bison.
I think it’s a giant schnauzer! Really there is a giant of the breed! Love your channel!
Definitely a schnauzer! I love it!
Such a great finds and thank you for beautiful scenes of nature!
What? You and Selena no more? Those were good videos.
I had that same cat earring holder when I was a kid! Wow, memories!
That scenery at end was spectacular!
Gosh I love just about everything you get. If I had the money I would buy everything from you. lol Love the Persian rug. I remember in Iran when we went to a restaurant the seating area was a raised platform covered with rugs and pillows and we would sit in a circle eating. I think you would love the atmosphere.
Love your cats, the nature shot at the end was beautiful, calming and relaxing 💕🦋🌻🌸
Love love love the nature moments!!!💚💚💚💜💜💜💙💙🍀🍀🍀👍👍👍
Hi Laura... the brass record holder you purchased was the exact same thing my parents had and called a magazine rack. And all the Time, Life, People magazines lived there for many years!
We're All vintage!!😁
😆
what if you are 2x 20 years old? lol
Except for those of us who are antique😐
@@Graceking76 But... We don't have to mention that!😉👍Haha!
Leave the dragon..... It's a stand alone piece!
I absolutely love the calm of a flowing river or creek 💕 Thank you for sharing that with us. I allowed my husband to watch this video with me, and he commented on how nice you are. Your voice and videos really are good for my soul !! Peace and love, Laura 🥰
Paint it like the bull you like!
What happened to The Recycled Life?! Please tell me your friendship is intact! Much affection from the city of Detroit, I’m pulling for you both! Linda
They haven't been together for a month, something smells fishy. And lots of ppl asking with no replies. Wonder about their new store? I hope Selena's health is ok.
@Lo V Yes, that’s true!! I miss them being together, even though I’m more into Laura’s style.
I so hope that things are good between Laura and Selena. It would be a shame if The Recycled Life was not continued!
Laura replied to the question on her Instagram feed. The girls are focusing on building their own businesses this year.
They have replied! They both said multiple times in the comments that the shop didn’t come through and this year they’re focusing on their business.
Sad to hear no more recycled life. Love your channel too but will miss you and Selena together😭😭
What??! What happened to Recycled Life? No more shopping with Selena? That's cray, they were the dynamic duo of thrifting! I used to binge watch them ... can't believe they're no more.
I love the voice overs so much!!!
It’s fun knowing your thought process!
And I’m in Oregon too and was just telling my husband how we live in such a beautiful place and need to be more intentional with getting out to nature! ♥️
It’s easy to forget and take it for granted! I hope you and your husband have some nature trips soon ❤️🌲 It’s finally warming up! Spring is upon us 😍
I can’t believe the things you find. There is nothing like that in my area. How lucky you are to live where you do. It’s beautiful!
Love the kitty earring holder! Awesome finds!👍
Also I live in Ashville Ohio and none of our Goodwills or thrift stores have anything close to what you find! Lucky girl!
I'm in Ohio, too! I rarely find anything good and the prices for literally junk are getting ridiculous! Living vicariously through RUclips! 🤪
It’s weird because back in the day, Ohio had a lot of well-known pottery companies like Roseville, Zanesville, McCoy, Weller, Hull etc
@@sevg.225 And, when you do find it, it doesn't sell! Nobody wants it here.
@@JK-xg8mz that’s interesting! sell them online. lol.
@@sevg.225 Yep!
So many amazing finds!! Thanks for sharing the beautiful scenery at the end, so tranquil
That is a beautiful view, thanks for sharing with us💗💗💗
Getting rid of the rope on the dragon, hanging it on the wall and use it as a double shelf for tiny finds
Great idea!
The dragon is for hanging an Obi. (Japanese Kimono Belt)
@@SexyShaeification ohhhh, thanks. I did not know that
Wow! I wrote my first comment before I saw the end of your video. Really well done ending. As someone on the east coast, I love seeing different nature scenes of the west coast. Thank you!
I’m on the east coast also. I love seeing the nature scenes too.
You are the coolest person. I love your decorating style and I cannot believe the great deals you get on the beautiful rugs. I really really want the green rug you had in your living room. That is the most beautiful rug I have ever seen and green is my favorite color.
The doggy is a Schnauzer and loved the scenery at the end.
Yeah here we go again, great finds, thanks for taking us along 😍❤️❤️
Thanks for joining! 😄
Ok, today's haul was awesome. My neighbors use those 3 brass buildings on their walk way outside with candles at night, but theirs are copper colored. I love everything you found.
You are so funny and real! I love all of your finds. You are helping me to appreciate MCM more! The end of the video is just stunning!
I am always surprised at how people just give this stuff away to the Goodwill thrift stores.
Can't believe the stuff you find in your area, and the prices are so reasonable! In Chicago you can't find anything, prices are a lot higher, and you have to compete with dozens of other resalers!
Thrift stores around Pittsburgh are the same, it's very discouraging.
Yes, mostly junk in Chicago area and the stores aren’t as nice. Junky.
You and I are birds of a feather 😂 I saw the bull in your thumbnail and was like “omg I need to buy on her next sale” 😳😳😳 ...then you said you were keeping him ... LOL. 😂💔❤️❤️ He’s so awesome I don’t blame you!! I agree, his natural color suits him and his chipped bits give him character. 🥰 Major congrats on the score!
(the ring I wear 24/7 and literally never take off is actually cz’s in a cow print pattern - that’s how much I love them, hence my spazz attack over here 😂) 🐄❤️
Anyways, now that I’m done drooling I just have to say WOW! Literally what an incredible haul! Your stores and style are incredible 😍😍
Oh - and the end 😭❤️🏔!!!
So sad to hear that The Recycled Life is ending. :( You guys worked so well together and were so much fun to watch. Looking forward to what you both will create going forward.
Thanks for the love! ❤️ Change is hard but we both have a lot to offer individually and are forever grateful for the support of TRL over the years!
