Then, one very interesting theory that I haven’t heard before is proposed by one of the crew members about why engineers left a quote on quote invitation for humans to lv 223. There is also a really short scene at the end in which shaw and david actually arrive to the Engineer homeworld paradise.
When David arrives in a room with sleeping engineer, Three of the four pods have large holes on them and decayed fossilized bodies can be seen inside. Only the fourth pod is untouched.
When the crew returns to the pyramid looking for fiefiled and melburn they encounter a mutated creature.
Janek, Ford, Chance, Jackson and Wallace run over to Barnes and all SIX stand in shock at the sight of this BLUEISH, PALE LOOKING CREATURE. The CREATURE WHICH IS ACTUALLY A MUTATED MILLBURN SITS ON THE DIRT WAILING AS IT EXAMINES IT'S OWN HANDS AND FEET. IT'S MORE CUTE AND BABY LIKE APPOSED TO SOMETHING HIDEOUS AND SCARY.
It looks up at the six and extends it's arms as if it wants an embrace. It stands up and is revealed to be nearly eight feet tall.
In another passage, a conversation between Vickers and Jackson reveals why the Fielfirld and Melburn and probably some other crew memebers aren’t the smartest scientists
JACKSON Yeah one actually. Where did the old man hire these goons from anyway? I was talking to some biologist and the guy is more dumb than a god damn swamp rat. If these people are Scientists then IQ's must have fallen since I left school V
ICKERS The old man never hired them. . I did. JACKSON Why? Do you want them to fail or something? VICKERS You always were too smart for this job Jackson.
Vickers did everything to set this expedition to failure, and as you’ll see later in the video, she disapproved it from the very beginning.
In conversation with Shaw, Janek reveals his controversial thoughts about engineers. and why they invited us to lv 223.
SHAW Why they created us, Janek. Why they abandoned us. Why did they leave an invitation for us to find? JANEK Maybe those weren't invitations Shaw. Maybe they came back long after creating life. Maybe they took people from Earth over here to build that Pyramid for them. Maybe those humans drew what they saw in these caves. I mean why build them yourself when you get something to do the hard work for you. Those weren't invitations Miss Shaw. It was a warning SHAW Well I'd rather die here with those answers than go home without them.
I read many theories and I’ve never heard this one. In fact, Janek’s theory would be the only explanation for ancient star maps in caves. Engineers had contacts with humans and it was not a pleasant experience at all, which was the reason to draw the warning map. Exploiting humans as a labour force totaly makes sense because Engineers viewed humanity as an inferiour barbaric species.
The last conversation between Wickers and Weyland is extended and we learn more about their complicated relatonship.
Another thing that was really intriguing in the movie is the green crystal, which has no mention at all in the script unfortunately.
However, after doing some research I found that originaly, green crystal wasn’t supposed to be there in the firs place. In the early Prometheus trailers, you can see that instead of a green crystal Holloway is looking at a sacrifice cup. Not sure why Ridley replaced it with a green crystal that confused everybody, but my guess is that he thought the cup would make a very obvious connection to the opening scene. However, I still think it would be so much better if they used a cup because it provides more meaning to events in the temple.

David steps away from the group as he spots some sort of ALIEN PANEL. He examines it and finds a strange substance on it. He touches it with his fingers and looks closely at it. HE SMELLS IT. - THROUGH David's EYE SIGHT which is completely different than that of a HUMAN'S eye sight - HE EXAMINES THE GREEN SUBSTANCE CLOSELY. IT HAS MILLIONS OF tiny SYMBOLS and HIEROGLYPHS INSIDE.
Based on that explanation, the green goo is an alien nano substance that is used to store information and I’m wondering if Engineers were able to read it with their eye sign.

In the scene where Vickers goes and talks to Wayland right before he goes to meet the Engineer, there is very specific meaning.
Vickers is talking about the Kings reign, and how they inevitably are usurped by their offspring, (which is the base theme for the entire movie). When Vickers kneels down and kisses his hand, that is a sign of respect for the "King", by his subject, and she is even acknowledging this dynamic between them by what she is saying at that moment as well.
Weyland closing his hand was a jesture of disapproval for Vickers, and a serious jesture. Him closing his hand was a direct way for him to tell Vickers that he does not approve of her, he is disappointed in her, he does not like her, it's a sign of disrespect towards Vickers by the "King".
It was a literal and deliberate way for Weyland to tell Vickers in that moment that he does not want her (his daughter) to succeed him, and disapproves of her in general..
that makes sense, but so much and so important in just one gesture...

Weyland didn't want a daughter, he wanted a son.. he wanted his offspring to be superior to him.. he created David and he believes that David was more his child than Vickers..

Well holy shit. The level of design and foundation setting within this script is seemingly getting higher and higher. I personally loved Prometheus, but I so wish this detail made it into the final film. FFS...

Every director now wants their movie to be mysterious so they pretty much leave out everything that gives the movie meaning.

SK4M Lever - low standards? The fact that people are still trying to 'fix' the film by back-filling explanations and story 6 years later says it all. Although, I would readily admit it's the prettiest 'B' movie ever made.

eternal soul this is usually on the studio, the guys putting the money down. Scott's movies are almost always better in a Director's Cut, a great example is Kingdom of Heaven. The theatrical versión was cut by the studio 'cause it "was too long" and when I saw it nothing made sense. The Director's Cut is an amazing movie. Probably the same happened here.
So, we need to gather 200 million of our closest friends, and if each puts in $1, we can pay Scott to make the movie this story deserves.

I believe the scene between father and daughter was tension about Weyland not wanting a daughter . He remaindered her , her whole life that she was not a son, therefore a failure.
Greetings KROFT! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE UOUR PASSION about the finer details involving the mysteries behind certain important but unanswered scenes in Prometheus!
Very interesting insight. It's good to have a hold of the original script. It seems the Ridley Scott cut out a LOT of scenes from the script just to make the movie more mysterious. Either that or to use in later "bonus scenes" on DVD releases. However that also made the movie a lot more confusing and convoluted than it had to be.
After watching many of your videos revealing golden bits from hte script i see Prometheus with different eyes. The movie with all those scenes (or at least half of them) would have become a sci-fi masterpiece. Even an extended conversation with the Engineer before he went terminator mode would have been much better for the movie.
The crew of the ship was hired by Vickers in order to sabotage her father's dream, but at the same time she sabotaged herself and all the people on that ship.
The green goo on the control panel is actually engineer blood. This also confirms the theory that the engineers from the ship were bio-engineered beings and not the original engineers. This is why these engineers were able to survive for millions of years after the seeding process. Their creators, the old engineers went extinct a long time ago (possibly millions of years ago) and they left these advanced androids to watch over the developing races on the successfully seeded planets.
The neo-engineers were basically immortal as long as they could repair themselves, however they had the same inherent flaw of their makers - they were sterile.

THANK YOU for confirming my theory that Vickers hired them! The line that gives this away is still in the movie, it's just a lot more subtle. "For those who I hired personally....welcome back" But Vickers wanted the mission to fail! So it's all in there, just way more subtle.
And so it make her an absolute idiot for wanting to being part of this suicidal mission crewed by Conspiracy-youtubers level morrons. Why didn't she stayed on Earth and just let things fall apart alone? The dumbass Promotheus crew didn't need her presence to kill themselves.

Eric Von Dumb After watching a few more of this guy, Kroft’s, videos it’s quite evident that he inserts self fabricated details into sections he knows he is not 100% clear on. This leads to contradicting stories between much of his content. And without knowing when, where or how he will do this you can’t really trust anything Kroft says. If you’re a new user I hope to save you from this channel, and I highly recommend looking at a channel called “Alien Theory” which covers the same topics, but is clearly knowledgeable on what h is talking about.

you are like the greatest living expert on this subject, hands down.
It's just grossly impractical to fly to a different planet and lift a huge number of humans to enslave them for the purpose of construction. Sustaining them on another planet would require a huge amount of resources to be committed, perhaps more than what it would cost them to just build the pyramids. It also makes the engineers look technologically inept if they needed physical labor on that scale.
In conclusion, using humans as slaves is perhaps the most ridiculous idea ever thrown on the table.
As well as the idiotic nonsense like engineers speaking less and takes away years of their lives. This guy reads these things and justifies them. There's no justifying that nonsense.

2 months travel time to pick up a boat load of slaves. 4 month trip there and back.

Prometheus could have been a lot better movie if Ridley stuck to the initial script.But somehow he changed his mind and viewers got flawed product with many inconsistent things.For the second movie he decided to listen to the viewers moanings for more xenomorph scenes,which i think xenos have been burntout a long time ago.So we got another flat movie with many questions unanswered regarding the engineers.This whole franchise would have been better as a high budget tv show,rather than two or three flat and flawed movies,which we have to wait for every 5 or so years.Like for your explanations and keep it up.Subscribed

Something that puzzles me is the Juggernaut encounter with Paradise. The ship itself has been missing for years, centuries even, with no contact with Paradise, yet no one is suspicious?
if Vicker's sabotage was kept in the script I was more than satisfied. Why is it that Prometheus needs you to do research within the creation of this film rather than show this in the fucking movie?....

I don't think the engineers left an invite, I think it was humans drawing pictures inside caves, they were drawing their experiences and what they saw or valued as important hence hunting and so on, there would of been some communication between the 2 races hence humans already knowing engineers came from the sky and it would have been shown to them so they would have drawn it because as I say an important event,

So much wasted potential! So much little details that would have made this movie coherent and amazing. Yet by cutting out these details, the movie became a confusing mess. It looked glorious, but lacked any form of coherence. A true shame, because sometimes little glimmers of genius do shine through...

My idea for a third alien/prometheus movie is as follows:
The engineers are the main characters in the movie and comes to the planet that was in the Prometheus movie.
There they find Weyland inside the crashed spaceship. They have a blue elixir which they empty all over him and bring him to life.
In the next part they arrive at the planet from alien covenant and find the other robot(Walter) who is david's twin.The engineers use the blue elixir and repairs him.
Once awaken the engineers and Weyland get to know all the horrible things that David has done, and weyland says "we have to stop David" .
They set course for origae. When they arrive,they scans all the planet,and finds the planet is full of hostile organisms except
on a high mountain where they discover that there are humans inside a cave.
Inside the cave they meet a herd of children, who tell that when they had lived on the planet for over ten years,
they began to be attacked by Xenomorphs and all the adults died or were turned into these creatures.
There were also great giants developed by someone the children calls David.
The engineers get ready to wipe out all the Xenomorphs that David has created, but the great giants manage to escape with one of the engineers' spaceships.
The engineers and Weyland hunts the spaceship and manage to force the spaceship down on the planet lv426.Where it start sending a distress signal.
The engineers return to Origae to find David, but discover that he has escaped.
In the last part we see David arriving and meeting an unknown alien species
on a tropical like planet.And that makes the cliffhanger that ends the third movie.
I wish that we could've seen this continued, instead of what we got.
It seems like in some parts of the movie you can see the holes in the engineer sleep pods.

I am quite sure it is a "thingie" placed there as a tribute to an earlier b-movie from 60-70s, which had an juggernaut shaped ship and also a giant skeleton of an alien pilot seated in the cockpit. There was a stone too.

The problem ultimately I feel the filmmakers faced with this franchise is just the levels of existential dread faced within all aspects of this movie. Covenant I think was suppose to be another ship finding Shaw and Davids ship and trying to understand what happen to them in this strange alien planet, with horrific creatures. It was suppose to be the horror of finding what you believe is your creator and having them loath you, and preform disgusting experiments on you, and ultimately use your own body as a host for something they would adore. That movie does not have a happy ending, and very much leaves the viewer in horror, but a horror that is mostly existential.
David has taken the place of the engineers, and it has flipped from horror of the creator to horror of the creation. Very much like Frankenstein. The issue is that the horror becomes less existential and more tangible, physical, and thus less threatening. I think they realized if they went for the BIG horror, it would leave them with no direction to go further. Once you eliminate the Engineer/God then what have you left? Nihilism? An endless chain of horrific and negative outcomes? Even Nietzsche stated that if you kill God, then you better have something to replace him with or else you will fall into complete disarray. To some degree they realized this conclusion, that the ending would undoubtedly lead to nothing, just horror. Which may not work with audiences, so they went with the small horror and something that the audience was expecting. That's why it's ALIEN: Covenant and not just COVENANT.
I would have liked them to go into the BIG HORROR instead of alluding to it. Give me David/Engineers experimenting, give the audience the full existential horror that the franchise was based on. Let the audence think a little about it. Shoot the science of the NEOmorphs and Xenomorphs more like a documentary, the secret is out, the creature is known. Give the audience more reason to fear the creature. People know Sharks, but they still are horrified of them. There are plenty of animals which can kill people in horrifying ways, it's the method of death that makes this creature very horrifying.
This really reshapes this movie. It's not obvious on first viewing that there is Wayland's agenda, Vicker's agenda, the people who think they're on some totally different mission, and then Davids's agenda going on in this movie, which all comulates at the end in a diaster.
