This series is based on a book written in 1949. The mindset back then isn't the same as the mindset now. Crime wasn't nearly as back then. Now, crime is the way of life. Also, I think the story had all white characters originally and added a Black woman to play Emma.
Emma put the address up after there first child it been like 2 years and when people showed up 3 times ( the couple, the child , and the family) and we’re all good people so I see why she trust people until now
