TWD, From, Station Eleven, The Stand, Squid Game, etc. Every apocalyptic show on tv or movie has always emphasizes, the struggle in keeping your humanity, no matter how feral or animalistic society has become. Have we become so jaded we’re turning our backs on that? If we choose not to create community we have created our own prison. Then What would we become? I would be more cautious than Emma but I would want community too.
@@kayanurshiya3778 Childbirth death is so low, God doesn't allow that to happen without some purpose, usually that person who loses their mother becomes a Doctor that saves many lives etc. It's always worth it to give birth over not giving birth. I'm speaking on this as a Christian who isn't afraid of death because that means I will be with the lord, we have everlasting life in Jesus Christ and God would keep her alive if she has some purpose to serve for him, but when people have hearts that are selfish and want to their own will and not the will of God, well he might not intervene and save your life if you have no love or desire for God, but sometimes he will save them from death if they know the mother will seek God and thank him more than ever.
I started watching this today & I feel like people are too hard on Emma, but she's been right so far. This isn't like the walking dead. There seems to be a lot less people left. Apparently, I didn't cancel my MGM+ account, so i gotta get my $ worth By the way, the actress that plays Emma's is only 1 year older than the guy who plays Ish. She acts more mature in the show, but I don't think she looks older.
I am scared to see how Emma and their children are going to react, I know Emma is going to have a mental breakdown because she lost her family and the thought of losing Ish is going to be unbearable
I don’t think I’d have kids during the apocalypse. But once I had one, I’d try to have more so they one would’ve alone. Emma is still too trusting. Idk why Ish didn’t have a quality fence to protect the yard from animals like that.
Easy. Remember the new group Ish wanted to throw out and won't let the surgeon lady get medicine at the hospital but she went anyways? So you have a surgeon now with medicine so it's not hard to figure out what comes next.
I agree that the next episode needs to focus on how Ish (hopefully) survives the mountain lion attack. I don’t know HOW he does though! That animal was dragging him by the doggone GROIN at the end. Ish was straight mauled by that hungry beast!!! So glad Evie found her voice to scream for help! 😳😳
I spent those few moments watching the forest scene, waiting to see Ish hit upside the head. This whole episode was filled with so much suspense, waiting for the show to drop. However, when the shoe did drop, I was mad that it happened to Ish, Lucky would have saved him. It's a strange show.
Hey y'all! I disagree with Emma putting their address out there. My best friend and I have been debating about this. Too dangerous. Put the library address there where they can meet or something. A neutral place like Will did in "I Am Legend." They don't know what type of people they're inviting into their home.
Exactly she should see how it puts them at danger. People can creep up on them with their address for the world to see. A centralized location would be much better.
Way too dangerous but there's no one out there so they're trying to build a community. Remember in TWD they put out a sign to go to Terminus for food and shelter but it was a reverse trap. Terminus was bunch of cannibals tricking visitors to come for salvation but will rob and slaughter them. So bad idea to put out sign.
@thenewwatchersonthewall Right. I have a feeling that all of us who are Team "Ish" about this will have the chance to say, "I told you so." Great review y'all. "From" introduced me to y'all. I like it here. 👌🏾
Recently subscribed I am always on the lookout for Black reviewers yall add additional perspective that resonates. Once this is complete another great post apocalyptic limited series is Station 11. Highly recommend. It’s similar to love abides and is also adapted from a book. The actress Danielle Deadwyler was fantastic. TBH all the actors were great.
My initial thought when I saw the little girl in the woods was to leave and go home! No way would I had chased her in the woods screaming I’m here to help, I thought it was a trap as well. Emma got on my last nerve she’s going to invite the wrong people in one day! I know she said she misses being around people and feel of a community, but this is not the time Emma. People have changed.
I read this book over 10 years ago. Its a really good read and exactly how I imagine what would happen to humanity if there was an apocalyptic event. But, it’ll be interesting to see how they portray what happens later in the book.
Emma was all about Ish finding that girl’s parents out in the middle of the dangerous woods, meanwhile Maureen looks in the girl’s bag and was like “oh, a note, horrible parents, don’t bother looking for them.” Emma is going to get them all killed, or get herself killed.
Evie must have been about 5 when the world ended. She probably has no memory of stranger danger. As for Emma, I think she was worried that Evie's people might come for her. She was trying to avoid a potential war between the two groups. Maureen said something about not wanting to lose kids. I think she was afraid of getting pregnant. In the book, Ezra isn't in a thruple. It's more like a polyamorous relationship, and his wives live in different houses. He just has a routine about which family he lives with in which day. Ish finds it weird, but doesn't interfere. Also, the book adults don't seem like they want to move on from the past, and only get proactive when they don't have a choice. I've found TV show Ish much more proactive than I felt like he was in the book
I totally agree that all the adults should be geared up when near the wild. Those animals are real and hungry - you can’t frolic without staying strapped 😤
My guess is when they found the girl, she was so withdrawn that they may not have seen all the scars. I was also thinking she was held by her father after the mother passed but then he died from the plague. So that girl may have just been living in the hut in the woods for a while. After running low on supplies, she wandered out and ran into Ish. Just a guess though
That’s actually a pretty good idea. Either that or he just left her or died do you think they would have showed us his dead body if he had in fact died?
@thenewwatchersonthewall well if he died there, she mist have moved him so I'm not sure. With all these big time jumps, I think they're skipping a lot of detail a show would normally offer so a lot seems left up to the viewer too
I am like Ish take the address down. They don’t know who they are inviting in their community. So far it’s been ok but not everyone is gonna be that way.
@@nomenclature-tulips3692 exactly and people can pop up on their terms. Not safe. There should be a meeting location and time. Not where they live with their children.
There were so many good moments for me, but I am mirroring what another person said on here...I want to know how Emma will react to Ish's attack. They are CLOSE and I don't know if she can handle this situation.
Hey everyone! This show is really good. I’m not sure how they’re going to save him! Hopefully, Molly can save his life because that would be a huge loss. I was so sad when Lucky died; he was such a wonderful and beautiful dog.
I know I’m supposed to suspend disbelief, but I would think mountain lions would still be in the more secluded areas as they would only come down to the city because they are desperate for food. With humans just about gone and not messing up their habitat, I would think they would have plenty of prey in the wild. Then again, I guess with the cities not having much action it makes them more comfortable to come down and explore
You are one hundred percent right. I also wonder would it attack with three people there. Nevertheless those injuries Ish sustained will make it hard for him to recover. Can not wait to see how they write that in.
I fell asleep twice on this episode. I thought this show was like a sci fi thriller this just a Hallmark love story. I didnt come for no love stories with no action.
Haha ha thank you for saying what I feel. I'm 3 episodes in and nothing happens. Episode 1 the guy wanders around and 2 they have a baby and 3 they meet new people and sing a song by a 🔥 and so far no threats until the mountain lion. I don't need zombie action like TWD but at least have some discussion of the mystery of what happened. This is just a days of our lives soap opera and I could only get thru it with fast forwarding. And nobody is talking about it on RUclips. Look at From or Silo or Fallout and there's tons of channels and fans talking about it. This show needs to pickup the pace or will get cancelled.
@@thenewwatchersonthewall There are only 3 episodes left So I'm still gonna finish off I just don't know where his story is going it feels aimless so hopefully these last 3 will pick up.

Hello from West Virginia! 👋

Wow we really appreciate that. We will be going live on Thursday.

I think Emma is going to have to learn a hard lesson about being too accommodating and trusting. Apocalyptic times bring out the worst in people.
