    it's a little rough and took 4 hours But on my SECOND attempt on a different controller face I GOT IT!!! You're 100% right that you'll definitely screw up your first go, and my tip as a noob doing this is to not cut too deep you shoulda really stressed that as you first started. But thanks so much for this guide

    What are you using to check the angle of your notches? And what size triangle and square files should I use? And if you got yours of amazon can you link it please.And what is the difference between notching a c stick and a normal one. Cause if it's the same (or you say ots similar enough) I can notch the c stick first for extra practice and then the normal one. But idk if it will be cause the shape of the thing yn.

    Since ucf is a thing do you still need to check if a controller is “notchable”

    • @ryancolligan931
      @ryancolligan931 2 года назад

      Yes- notches aren’t affected by ucf- the only thing that is is the shield drop angles. You still want a controller whose values are as close as possible

    • @GoomySmash
      @GoomySmash  4 года назад +4

      It's a side view of the control stick gate, like as if you cut the control stick gate in half. A cross section view.
      Imagine you set the controller down in front of you then bring your eyes to just above the level of the table.

    Hey, are the diamond files you linked in the description the same as you used in this video? I bought them and they look very dirty compared to yours, the triangle file is not an equal triangle and is shorter on two ends unlike yours so I can't really do the method you use to start and they didn't come with a square file like you use to push the values higher.

    • @EllisG123
      @EllisG123 3 года назад +2

      Some players are far more aggressive than others but it’s old school Nintendo plastic after all. It will last as long as the controller for most part. Now that ucf is a thing the more sensitive stuff like shield drop notches aren’t really as much of an issue.

    • @happyk7512
      @happyk7512 3 года назад +4

      You’ll probably wear down the notch enough to drift into a different value eventually, but you should be able to make corrections with the info in this video. If you’re careful when renotching the faceplate should last years.
