Wow! They are proud of that Weber $
@@TheDeadMan3848 Inflation has spiked the cost. I can remember when they were $385. Still worth it to get a genuine weber and not a cheaper clone that wont last. Mine is 14 + years old.
@@MazdaMitch genuine Weber 8 years running here. Mixed driving commute for me at 22-23mpg. I like the open throttle sound too much 😁 No need to downshift is so sweet. I'm always out in front of traffic without much effort though. That really surprises me considering the horsepower to weight ratio.
Hey man, sorry to bother you. Would but I have a question my truck dose thus weird thing if it's cold and I step on gas it wants to die and if I start driving it around 40 miles per hour it starts to stutter then I accelerate and it stops I then let it go to 40 or 20 and starts to stutter again what could it be I had the carb rebuild but no luck any suggestions
Right on!
Years ago my 88 b2200 SE-5 (automatic) all stock would get 29 mpg highway. Years later that dropped to 20 mpg, removed the aft cat and gutted the fwd cat, mpg back up to 29😆.
I remember reading about swapping 5th gear (5 speed) from one of mazdas car transmissions, possibly miata 🤷♂️. They said mpg’s improved, unfortunately mine was automatic…
I'm getting ever closer to having my truck running. It's been a learning process for sure. I went with the knockoff carb and I regret it. Had to buy plates, throttle arm, and throttle holding bracket separately. I installed a new brake boost and MC on Friday but haven't bled the brakes as of this writing. I'm waiting on the throttle arm to arrive from China. My OG Carb works, it's just crappy. Getting there. Thx for your videos Mitch!
Mitch good to see you again
If the speedometer is reading faster than actual speed then it is also registering more miles than actually traveled.
Does not matter. The truck still clocked the miles. Math is math. Regardless of "real gps speed" or if I drove an extra 3 miles over stock size tires, the truck still clocked miles and drove 75 and it burned the gas the same.
I've had my '88 B2200 Cab Plus 5-speed since 1994; Arizona, so the AC is used 80 - 90% of the time. In 2005 I installed a genuine Redline Weber kit. My catalytic converters are gutted. I have a cross-bed toolbox with maybe 100 lbs of stuff in it. Seems like I got 18 mpg both before and after the Weber install. For the last several years, I run some 15" B2600i 4WD wheels with 235/75-15 tires that were given to me by someone I helped, so my speedometer and odometer are "off". In comparison, my fuel-injected 1998 and 2004 Frontiers (both 4-cylinder and 5-speed, and 143 hp) consistently give me 25 - 26 mpg.
Just found channel this morning. I have a 1984 b2200 diesel that needs a slave cylinder. Great video. Perfectly identified my problem. I’m gonna need the rubber hydraulic hose about 91/2” long. Any ideas where to look? I’m averaging about 42 mpg.
My B2000 is getting about 23-24 mpg combined with my Weber conversion, AC on, and headers, no cat.
I'm getting around 16 mpg (14L/100km) in my b2200 with stock everything.
Clearly it needs some work done to it.
Bro I understand Im getting at the most 10mpg, I have stock everything and my exhaust pipe is even throwing solid carbon falkes😢😂
I need a weber
I’m still trying to finish connecting mine
Man I've got a one piece drive shaft and 3 in lowering blocks. After doing so did you ever notice a lot of vibration coming from the rear of the truck and has your transmission tail seal come loose from the vibration? Was your pinion angle off or could it be that my rear axle is bad? My transmission has been rebuilt and the drive shaft is brand new.
None of the above. Most of these trucks (almost all) have a two piece drive shaft. They ran the one piece for a short period of time in 86-87. I use 3 inch angled blocks and have a two piece drive shaft, no issues.
Look into pinion angle/transmission angle, you want those to be the same to have no vibration. Garage fab has a really good video on this titled “THE Driveshaft Video”
My question is why the Weber 32-36 burner so much gas I saw your video and I adjust the weber truck pass emission perfect is still burning too much gas is any idea that can fix that
Well let's see there's too many variables here left out.
How big are the tires you are running?
Winter tends to burn more than summer due to choke.
What type of fuel you were using because non-ethanol gets more miles per gallon than regular gas.
If it passes emissions I feel like it's tuned correctly however it may not be.
hey Mitch quick question in have a 93 b2200 and I have some 15x10 spokes on it and I'm getting a lot of vibration so I took off the rims thinking they were bent and put on the stocks and it still has the vibration. so I took off one stock and noticed that there was these 4 tabs on the hub that were grounded down do you know if this could be causing the vibrations new too these truck any help would be appreciated thanks.
No that would not cause the vibration. It could be coming from the drive shaft. Something could have happened and it could slightly be bent or it could have lost one of the welded on weights on it which is unlikely actually but it could be and it could possibly be the center carrier bearing is worn out on the drive shaft
@@MazdaMitch ok yesterday I just ordered the front hub bearings and everything for the front suspension thinking it was that was causing all the shaking in the steering.so I will check the drive line and carrier bearing..thanks I will keep you updated..
my 2600i cab plus 4x4 gets about 18 no matter what (when its not broken) any weather, driving nice or like a bat out of hell. on 27 inch a/t tires.
mitch, do you have or know someone who has an FE3 truck to compare against? ive been hearing anything from 20 to 30 mpg with the sportage engine.
👍💛 it
