Spent 45 years as a heavy duty truck tech and I learn something or see something of interest every time I watch one of your videos. Keep up the great job.
Excellent video! I'm 72 years old, and after being without a shop for 30 years, I finally built one last year. Videos like this are very interesting. And thank God for Harbor Freight!! ;) I bought a multifunction welder, plasma cutter, etc. I also bought a portable band saw, like yours, for my Son for his birthday. Harbor Freight now has a band saw bracket where you can fasten your saw to a table, or even the wall. Keep up the good work!! And thanks for your time.
I am working on my first fabrication project for my 95 YJ. Sorry for this kinda cheesy comment, but....this is exactly what I was looking for...this is the best RUclips video I have ever watched!!! No joke. 👍👍👍👍👍
On those large gaps I like to use a 10 penny nail . It's pointed so it fits right up into the hinge point too. Throw in some center supports and you got some drive over fenders.
Starting out with not much to work with is ruff, that's how I started! I appreciate you showing it can be done working off the floor while you have a bench right there.
the bandsaw i a game changer, id recommend that for anyone that wants to get into serious fab work , got my Milwaukee for 180 from a pawnshop, looked like it was never used so it was good for me
Coming from a wood working background and just about to buy my first welding machine so I can fix stuff on the farm. I can’t say how much I appreciate the “small stuff” explanations. Experienced folks take for granted stuff they know and it’s really helpful for us noobs. Thanks!
I'm just living vicariously through you. I don't have the tools or the money to buy the tools... Nor do I have a garage in which to do projects like this or to store said tools, if I could even afford them. LOL
I appreciate you taking the time and sharing that this is a functional item and not a a pretty gussied up item. Don't be hard on yourself and get discouraged to even try because that is exactly what I do and its nice to have a reminder to just do something the best you can and it will work out and you will gain the confidence and experience to build other things even better.
Thank you so much for your videos and not sounding like a Chad, You explain everything and you really get things done. I see other welders that try and act like they know it all or like they're trying to compensate for something but you go slow. You take your time and you do it right. Thank you for showing us how it's done. I really appreciate your videos
Nice video. I’ve been welding for years but I’m finally about to buy my first plasma cutter. I’ve used one a few times years ago at a place I used to work for, but I am really looking forward to getting proficient at it. Keep the fabrication videos coming!...love em 👍🏻
Been welding and fabricating about 5 years now, still learning everyday. You’re the first person I’ve ever seen mark your centre line the same way as me 😂
Thanks man! I'm a journey man plumber and I forgot I use to lay out using a chalk line on the ground. This just helped for me on my welding fab journey!
Video was well worth while to watch. These kind of jobs are definitely the meat and potatoes of Fab work. My opinion everything you showed us will translate to other more complex projects. Now the trick is to be able to make more videos that build off what we learned in this video. Great job by the way 😀👍👍
Nate, You pegged me to the wall again. I really appreciate you starting this series, FAB for NEWBIES, I soak this stuff up and never get tired of it. To show my sincere appreciation you now have another Patreon supporter.
Honestly, I'm at the point I'd rather watch the fab videos than the wheeling videos. And that's from a guy with a MIG welder and plasma cutter. Rock on dude. LOVE your videos.
Yeah Buddy, ok Nate this is just what I needed, I am that guy. I got a multi process welder and now I am trying to learn how to use it. Looks easy but not so much, I'm sticking metal together but it aint pretty seems like I spend more time grinding than welding. Focusing on flux core wire cuz I don't want to waste money on gas till my skills improve some. Trying to fabricate some type of rack for the jeep so I can haul my wife's kayak fairly light yet removable.
Hard wire is commonly ran down hill in most every fab shop, It will allow you to fill gaps without filler and you will generally be able to make nicer welds giving the welders set properly.
Saw Low Buck back there with the windshield re-installed. Can't wait to see that video! Gonna be honest, Low Buck is my favorite build on Bleepin' Jeep. No one there ever messes with the classics, so I was super excited when you came along and brought that ole grandpa back to life! Glad to see you contnue on with that build on your own channel. Dig your channel by the way, takes guts to go out on your own and try to build something from scratch, good luck, and know that I am rootin' for ya!
My first project was rebuilding my trk flatbed then i did my flatbed trl dovetail wood to angle iron then new ramp pins and tubes. Im looking to purchase a plasma cutter this year
If I watch enough of these, I’ll manage to ratchet up my courage, actually buy a welder and start welding - instead of constantly IMAGINING myself welding. Excellent video, thanks.
I'm hooked, I've welded a little thru the year's but im in the process of picking a welder so i can start building stuff.. Great video, i can't wait till i can finish my garage!!!!
That welding rod gap fill technique is awesome, thank you! I always tried cutting a tiny piece of metal and try to hold it in place to weld haha. This is way better.
Your videos and Matt's videos are why I learned how to weld. Very fun to learn. Thanks for making great videos, and I like to learn and watch more of these types of fabrication videos.
Man i just love your tutorials, straight to the point and the cut to the screnes with the voice over keeps the interaction going. Thats just my opinion thou. But mainly enjoy learning new methods and tips as well. Keep up the awesome work man. All the way from Aussie land.
Before i started welding , i learned out on farm then went on to making living out of it . It was hard at first getting customers as word got around it went good .Farms everthing breaks then i certification long story short i am still learning ,I can weld , custom work is problem . thanks
I am glad to see this type of videos, where people do things for themselves so that the apprentices take confidence in them .... good job JKs.. excellent content
thank you for this video. popped up while i was trying to decide how to build my first bumper for my jeep. turned out great now i want to build more stuff!
You get real clean pie joints when you drill holes at the apex of the pie wedge. The radius keeps the joint from flexing outward when you bend it closed. ..maybe hole should be 2x wall thickness? ..you.can also nick the apex with a grinder a little..
Massive thanks for this video!!! I've been trying to figure out a better way to fab up my fenders for my trailer build... And this showed exactly what I need to do!!! So awesome. Cheers!!!
Awesome tips Nate. Completely practical and 'do-able' and nice toes you admit a mistake...makes you 'human' and just like 'us'...not everyone is so honest when producing youtube content. That in itself is a confidence booster...makes me want to go and burn holes in things (gotta start somewhere). Enjoy California..
Well, you got me hooked. I had to subscribe to your channel. You are a natural leader, and the kind of person that gets my undivided attention, and trust me, that is far from easy to do. Just ask any teacher I had in high school. Unfortunately, I could never figure out how to make numbers work in my head, or scratch paper, hell i cannot even figure out how to do the speed limit for that matter...i tried telling the judge that i had a little handicap with numbers jumbling about in my head, but obviously he didn't understand, and I left the courthouse with a whole new pile of numbers to deal with! Go figure. Up until I sat down and watched you video a couple times, I pretty much decided that I was to damn simple minded to even attempt to use a speed square. I have one( I have no idea why) it's been in my shop as long as I can remember. I've loaned it out a few times hoping they would never bring it back. I must have looked like a monkey staring at a Rubik's Cube when they would return it to me. Now I kinda get it...maybe just maybe, there is hope for me yet hahaha. I am a pacific northwest 100% hillbilly and I still use the trusty stick welder for everything I do, and I doubt I'll be able to justify buying anything better for the shit that I end up using it for, but I do have a good selection of fabrication tools to go along with the welder and torch, and by god, I can make nice clean strong welds, and my repairs hold up with the best of them. I just stumble hard trying to do get the geometry and math right to get started. My ideas are super sound and doable IF I could figure out how to get a drawing made and lay the first piece of steel down to start on the project. Honestly, Thank you for making me believe that its within my reach to accomplish something that seemed to far away yesterday.
I spend half of every video day dreaming about those Jeep trucks in the back ground. access: the ability, right, or permission to approach, enter, speak with, or use; admittance. excess: an amount of something that is more than necessary, permitted, or desirable.
I'm currently looking forward very much to my first welding project. So I'm very appreciative of all the little extra tips you mentioned. Great video! Thanks for sharing!
Love the work man working on getting material to make my first bumber on my obs f250 🤙🏼🤙🏼 thanks for the knowledge on square tube that’s what I’m working with
Great video Nate! I'm new to welding and fabrication. Something I struggle with is determining material thickness to suit a project. Could you do a future video on what goes into that decision process? Most of my projects involve Jeeps, and I'd eventually like to be able to build myself custom suspension.
This was an awesome video. Well put together and great narration. Great level of detail and skipping things that can be found on channels elsewhere. Awesome.
Great video! I'm a school student, so it would be helpful if you teach us how to read any technical drawings that's relatable to welding and fabrication from basic to advanced🙂👍🏾
My first fab project was a welding table. My third was a bigger welding table.
😂😂😂 I know how that one went. “Yay I got my first table”
* makes something on table
“I need a bigger table”
Lol
what was number 2 ?
@@rodigopizarro9414 how big was the first one and 2nd one
wow that brought back members when i small they say i was 3 when i welded the hud on the old cockshutt tractor we had

I was a fabricator professionally for 15 years, but haven't done it since 2008. A few days ago, bought a welder and getting back into it!
I am working on my first fabrication project for my 95 YJ. Sorry for this kinda cheesy comment, but....this is exactly what I was looking for...this is the best RUclips video I have ever watched!!! No joke. 👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you! I'm glad to see my videos are helpful 👍
Your welding play list should be called "sewing with FIRE!"
Lol I love it
stole it from that old tony fella
On those large gaps I like to use a 10 penny nail . It's pointed so it fits right up into the hinge point too. Throw in some center supports and you got some drive over fenders.

What u said at the end really proves how much experienced ur because in fabrication not everything goes perfectly perfect at all.
Great quality on these vids. Pro relevant b-rolls, streamlined editing, no ranting to the camera at one angle for 7 mins.. great
Thank you!
I'm just living vicariously through you. I don't have the tools or the money to buy the tools... Nor do I have a garage in which to do projects like this or to store said tools, if I could even afford them. LOL
What i liked about this video was the measuring and marking out on the tube
Thank you making this video we need more people like you.
I've noticed on many of your videos that you match up the welding arcs and scene changes on the beat of the background music. Such an amazing touch!

Starting my own business fabricating odds and ends. Have taken a lot from your channel. Thank You!
I'm glad to hear it! Good luck with your new venture!
loving the synchronization of the weld pulses and beats.
Lol thanks!
I didn't really learn anything new, but i did get motivated to actually get out and start/finish my trailer.
Dude...your post production is sick! I think it's the unsung hero of your content.
Thank you brother I really appreciate it👊
By far my favorite Jeep/Fab channel. Think the narrative and editing have a good flow and keep the interest going. 👍
Your hitting home runs buddy!
Syncing the welding noises with the music is a nice touch. +1
Been welding and fabricating about 5 years now, still learning everyday. You’re the first person I’ve ever seen mark your centre line the same way as me 😂

Good job, and thanks for showing how to simply putting it together without taking to much time. Less is more.
This is the perfect video for me because I'm just starting to use my everlast welder to make some projects.
Great! I'm happy to help 👍
Nate, You pegged me to the wall again. I really appreciate you starting this series, FAB for NEWBIES, I soak this stuff up and never get tired of it. To show my sincere appreciation you now have another Patreon supporter.
Thank you very much! I'm happy to help and I appreciate your support 👊
I’m doing my first project this weekend. Maybe not fabrication but I’m putting caps on my tj frame to fix some rust issues. First welding project.
The old cutting oil on the flap disc trick! Damn I've been doing it for ages. Legend, thanks for your vids.
Honestly, I'm at the point I'd rather watch the fab videos than the wheeling videos.
And that's from a guy with a MIG welder and plasma cutter. Rock on dude. LOVE your videos.
Thanks brother 👊
I'm going to have a lot of spare time coming up and want to get into fabrication with my everlast welder big time. This video is a great help.
This is just what I need to get moving on my projects. Your explain in basic easy steps with good reason and best practices
Thanks
Yeah Buddy, ok Nate this is just what I needed, I am that guy. I got a multi process welder and now I am trying to learn how to use it. Anybody else love that beat timed editing? Boss.

Been watching so many welding vids Im now trying to build my house roof being both thankfully while wondering what I'm doin
The tip at the end really hit home. Thanks.
I'm hooked, I've welded a little thru the year's but im in the process of picking a welder so i can start building stuff.. Great video, i can't wait till i can finish my garage!!!!
This would be a good project for the guys who just have a stick welder also!
This is EXACTLY what I've been looking for. THANK YOU!
Nicely done! Very clearly explained. If you ever get sick of fabricating, you have a strong future in public speaking - very well done!
Thank you! That's a very big compliment 👊
Love it. I've been welding a while, not professionally but love watching these kinds of videos. Keeps the creative juices flowing. Thank you.
Very nice! Thanks for teaching something for us beginners to start working towards.
I really liked the way you drew the layout on the floor. Great idea
Just bought my first MIG.... great video... I'll be watching more , easy to follow.... Thank you
That welding rod gap fill technique is awesome, thank you! I always tried cutting a tiny piece of metal and try to hold it in place to weld haha. This is way better.
Your videos and Matt's videos are why I learned how to weld. Very fun to learn. Thanks for making great videos, and I like to learn and watch more of these types of fabrication videos.
As a video editor - I like how you edit your cuts with the welding flashes - well done.
Man i just love your tutorials, straight to the point and the cut to the screnes with the voice over keeps the interaction going. Thats just my opinion thou. But mainly enjoy learning new methods and tips as well. Keep up the awesome work man. All the way from Aussie land.
"Fill the void thats left over" okay drugs and women never did that but you taught me how
Thanks man. This is exactly the kinda of info and demonstrations I’m looking for. 👍😃
Now that's a fender. I do landscaping & these stock fender are always messing up.
Love the way you explain things simply. Your Fab videoes are fab!
Simple and strong design, good work. As always, your videos are awesome. Keep it up.
Before i started welding , i learned out on farm then went on to making living out of it . It was hard at first getting customers as word got around it went good .Farms everthing breaks then i certification long story short i am still learning ,I can weld , custom work is problem . thanks
You assume rightly. I dont like watching or gringing myself. Great project.
I like those fenders 🇺🇸
I agree with the angle not looking right. The straight sides look better
I am glad to see this type of videos, where people do things for themselves so that the apprentices take confidence in them .... good job JKs.. excellent content
thank you for this video. popped up while i was trying to decide how to build my first bumper for my jeep. turned out great now i want to build more stuff!
Congratulations! Welcome to the club! Fabrication is somthing that will change your life it you put the time in. I'm happy to help 👍
Building stuff should be fun and creative. Great quote! thank you for all the help and guidance through your videos.
Welding to the beat @ 11:00 was sick
This was a fantastic video. Will probably need to do the same thing to my car trailer when I swap full width axles and add a lil' wider tires.
Thanks!
Another rad video man! Thank you for breaking everything down on the fabrication segments. It’s cool to see fab from this point of view.
So awesome. Cheers!!!
Great! Sounds like perfect timing 👍. Good luck with the fenders buddy
Knocking out my bumper now as my first project! 🤟🏻

Thank you! This is exactly what I was going for so it's good to see it being well received 👍
Great video! Really enjoy your mix of entertainment and knowledge. Inspiring me to get out in the garage and build stuff for my wife's Libby.
You are very easy to learn from your videos are so educational. Thank you
This was excellent. I'm new to welding and metal work. It's very cool to see the layout and plan of a project. Thanks for posting.
GREAT VIDEO ESPECIALLY the layout and pie cut explanations
More please
Searching your videos soon as this one ends!!
My first fab project I’m doing right now is a trailer restoration
Thanks for the great, detailed video pointing out the small stuff. So helpful for those learning 👍🏼
thanks for the tip on how to pie cut for the angle

I like it. Simple instructional video for beginners.
shoutout from a fellow Washingtonian....those fenders are awesome....!!
Good job, on both the build and the editing. I liked how the weld hits went with the beat of the music @ 11:11+
I spend half of every video day dreaming about those Jeep trucks in the back ground.

Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for making this vid...you explain the small details that other fabrication videos leave out..subscribed
Thanks buddy 👍
this is cool. i'm someone hwo bought a welder and wants to learn how to use it. you should do videos that require only basic tools.
Can't wait to see what the videos from KOH are going to be! Wish we could have made it there this year...HAVE FUN!
Thanks man!
Nice... I've been sticking metal for quite some time now... nice video my man keep them coming
Love the work man working on getting material to make my first bumber on my obs f250 🤙🏼🤙🏼 thanks for the knowledge on square tube that’s what I’m working with
Loved the outro speech! Very inspiring. Fine stuff 👌
Great video Nate. Basics are the key to success.
Great video Nate! I'm new to welding and fabrication. Something I struggle with is determining material thickness to suit a project. Weld.com has some good videos on how to read welding symbols on plans.
@@jcnpresser , even does it include fabrications as well, right??
They have some fab videos with plans I think you can get from their website.
Found this Channel and bought a welder and built my dream truck cuz of it
Dude! I'm happy to hear it!
I learned a lot from this video, straight forward, easy to follow and understand. Subscribed!
Name it “ Laying dimes with Nate “. Great stuff as always!
