I'm glad you started with the fact that most modern fisherman will not admit: mono is superior in certain situations. Do it in snow, chest deep in a tidal creek with ice forming in your guides and the mono jumping off the spool for the cold weather memory, and you might think again. But here, with micro lures and the short casts that make the stretch of mono actually a bonus, indeed. Try the Berkley Gulp! 1" minnows, MURDER in fresh water on tiny jig heads.
Nice video again Dan! What beautiful clear water you have there! Here the water is brown with a lot of aquatic plants, everything is silted up, so it sucks! it is 33 degrees here so very hot, we are going to visit the larger lakes in a few days, the ditches are no longer open, you have caught a few nice trout, what a beautiful fish that is! until the next video Dan!
Especially browns go after way bigger forage than people think - when I really want to dodge the very small ones I sometimes even go as big as 12cm on Jerkbaits.
Ive become addicted to trout fishing... I was stoked for the course season to open, went out today for perch and pike, and just wanted to be back on my trout streams 😅
Nice video pal, very entertaining. I've been thinking about fishing softbaits for trout for a wee while and you've just given me more confidence. What size of rod are you using in this footage? Thanks in advance mate. Tight lines.
@@pikeandperch I live only 10 minutes from the border and have the Vispas license so you can fish in 90 percent of all waters in the Netherlands. Costs me about 40 euros for the whole year! I drive from spot to spot in the morning and try my luck! As far as fishing is concerned, Holland is really great and the people there are also great! You can actually catch a good fish everywhere! For large pikes I would personally recommend the Rhine Delta!
since its summer i'd still recommend braid, you lose more fish, however during summer time trout tend to be smaller :D so braid makes it more fun to catch em
Hi db,just wondering why you aren't using the Lmab rods. I've been looking at their website for a new ultra light set up and wanted to know if you would recommend. Cheers mate, tight lines.
@@pikeandperch Thanks for the reply, yes I've watched your video of you getting the rod Bk. You couldn't make it up lol. I think I would have been bouncing had that of been me. Some luck you have and still in good working order. Amazing.
Nice wee vid pal that was a lovely trout at the end, i need some advice if you have time, i have a 5ft 6 abu garcia devil spin rod which is ultralight and i love it i fish for wild browns up here ijn scotland on small local rivers i had a cheap shimano hyperloop rd reel size 1000 0n it but i treated myself the other day and got a Daiwa legalis 1000LT D but im a bit worried about what size of fish id be ok catching with such a small reel, i never knew there was a size 1500 option until i had already used the reel, on my old shimano reel size 1000 i caught wild browns between 2n 3 lbs but do you know how much bigger the legalis 1000 will be able to handle also what size is that rod you have in this vid? cheers in advance ❤🎣✌💙👍 from Scotland
