Excellent video 🏆
Incredible builds!!! 😮
Use Shears on vines to prevent them from growing instead of visible String 😊
• make your vine to length
• right click with Shears on bottom vine block; it won’t grow
@@TheeSlickShady_Dave_K thank you for this neat trick!
@@SheraNom
You can even use Bone Meal on the bottom-most vine, AFTER you Shear it
- Glow Berry light-source but Vine won’t grow
To restore the vine’s ability to grow,
Punch the vine block that you sheared 😊

@TheeSlickShady_Dave_K dude, the most greatest trick because I never knew that.
It will be fast she said... Dio, you only have to decorate a couple houses she said...
Oh well, thanks for the help anyway. I guess you are a good friend.. ugh
@@DioRods ye guys did SUCH an incredible job!!
Respect for the interior o7

"I only need help for 20 minutes" she said
Oh well :D Sorry I guess ?
@@Gorillo loved what ye did for the interiors!

as an anthropology student watching you essentially do a reconstruction/mock up as if you were an actual archaeologist is so cool
Awww I’m so glad you like it! I tried to reconstruct it like to the best if my ability, I hope it wasn’t too hard to watch as archaeologists:D
@@SheraNomi'm only an archaeology enthusiast but i enjoyed it for the same reason! your choices were very interesting. have you seen the channel Daskalos (i think that's how it's spelt)? he's an actual archaeologist who's doing a semi-RP series restoring an ancient city. you might enjoy it ^_^
on the ice house. the ice lasting for centuries is certainly questionable haha. (i liked how you reasoned around anachronisms like that.) the concept itself, however (even in an arid environment), isn't so far-fetched! google "yakhchāl"; according to the wiki page, the word now means "refrigerator", but they were originally buildings in which ancient Persians (who lived around modern-day Iran/Afghanistan/Tajikistan) created and stored ice! ancient peoples were far more resourceful than we often realise haha.
the ancient city, the bastions and the end cities all fascinate me. i enjoyed seeing your interpretation - thanks for sticking with it, even through all that footage you lost! it was great ^_^
It will take me 10 milleniums to complete this
She also seems to think like an anthropologist. A friend who also studied anthropology once said that the reaction to old cultures is that if you don't understand the meaning of a place or object, there must be a religious reason. Just like the portals in the barracks, which she made into a temple.
I love that you added the ancient plants from the sniffer, makes it feel so much older!
I love the sniffer plants too, they really add to the ancient atmosphere. 💜
Out of all the Ancient City restorations I've seen, this one is easily the best looking. I LOVE how you used quartz, mud bricks, and even the glazed terracotta which adds a nice tough to everything!
Thank you so much, I loved those mudbricks 🧱
6:44 An ice house does make sense in this situation, esspecially for a warm climate. Since before electric refridgeration, you'd have a truck come around every week like the Milkman and drop off a block of ice that you'd shove into the bottom of your fridge. As for ice surviving that long, yeah no. But Minceraft doesn't have to make sense
You are right :) that way it does make sense!
Maybe the deep dark is somehow below 0 degrees (Celsius) that the ice was still frozen?
@@vvvwwvvvw Actually, caves - especially deep caves - are excellent at keeping the heat out because stone happens to be a horrible heat conductor, meaning the heat of the sun can't travel far into a mountain. Which is one of the reasons why mine shafts are always so cold.
But what this means is that, even in central Europe (Germany and the like), it was a common practice before refrigeration existed to store buttloads of ice and snow in caves during the winter, where it would mostly remain throughout the year and could be used to chill substances for the process of beer brewing.
@@sorrowandsufferin924it depends how deep you go at some point the heat from the earth becomes the dominant factor
Out all of ancient city transformations that i saw on youtube this easily takes first place. Truly a masterpiece, amazing job!
Awswww 🥰💜 thank you! You are so sweet 🥹💜
For the tower at 2:51, it’s likely the roof was made of organic materials like wood that would have rotted away. So good intuition with the thatched roof.
Awww thank you! I think you are right 💜🥰
I love the greco-roman aesthetic, probably the best restoration ive seen of an ancient city
Thank you so much! It means a lot to me 💜☺️
the build palette is so beautiful, i can't believe how well those blocks work together! you are so talented and determined, congratulations on finally finishing the video- you clearly worked so hard on this, i can definitely believe you've been working on it for a year
Thank you so much!! The build palettes was hard to chose, it was very out of mine comfort zone 🥺💜
Everything perfect, but just one mistake: ice houses were pretty common until the 20th century as there wasn't electricity, so people used natural ice that they got from mountains during winter to store it in a secluded, termally stable environment so it wouldn't liquify, and with it to store any sort of goods that can perish, especially food. That's why, after finding the chest in the ice house, you find some suspicious stews and snowballs in it.
And yeah, there's also a way to conserve food by using salt, but since salt hasn't been added in Minecraft yet...
Thank you so much for such cool insight! I didn’t think about it like that :) I hope you enjoyed the video 💜
@@SheraNom Oh I did. In my opinion, it's the most accurate renovation of the ancient city, especially if talking about a historical perception. I really liked the idea of a potter and how it resembles very much the Etruscan style of a city
One thing I really love about this is that you didn't just tear it down, build something completely different and called it transformed.
"Done is much better than imaginary perfection"...and I took that personally😅 Needless to say, the City looks spectacular Shera, so proud of ya. The amount of sweat and tears that went into making this video can't possibly be captured. Everyone, and I mean everyone! who watches this should show some love, whether it be a sub a like or a membership etc, if nothing else but to encourage youtube to promote this kind of quality content. Well done Nomster, it's a masterpiece.
Thank you Micro! That project nearly ended my whole Minecraft career 😥. I hope to see a new video from you soon! It’s about time xD
@@SheraNom I play Minecraft for years. Finally YT-algo sent me here. I am SO glad you made all this. And that "Done is much better than imaginary perfection" inspired me just as much as the phenomenal build itself.
Great work!
I suspect this ancient civilisation likely had working portal technology running but mishap happened after their hubris in exploring the unknown became their undoing.
4:03 I suspect it’s a miniature portal for rapid deployment.
That is a cool theory! Thank you for sharing 💜
If you look at how we see ruins, we find out we’re wrong CONSTANTLY. So those barracks could be a theory and it was actually a temple. Quite often we find out that what we thought was one thing was actually another.
That’s a very good point! Thank you for sharing!
or it could have been turned into barracks after the disaster, with the original purpose being a temple
@@charlestaylor7760 or could have been both! for all we know, they worshipped a war god. and their temples were warrior training grounds and housing. many cultures have had barracks around temples
I love the exotism in this and the use of everything available to make it so unique, I've seen a lot of attempts at exotic cities but this is by far the prettiest
Thank you so much!! It was a struggle 😅
I see the ancient city in a completely different way now. This is probably one of the most beautiful and impressive minecraft builds I’ve seen in a while
This is the best transformation of an ancient city that I have seen.
Thank you ☺️
I’ve been waiting for a RUclipsr to do this but have yet to see someone do it until now, I think it’s a really cool idea and I’m surprised it hasn’t been done more.
I thought so too! None of the transformations on Yt go all the way with this concept :) enjoy the video 💜
You're absolutely wonderdul. Your style of building is beautiful, with both kindness and luminosity. The nature you put throughout the town enhances the life. This is a real art.
Thank you 🥹 I love nature 🥰
I really love the mesoamerican/grecoroman style fusion you’ve got going on - the Grecian temples mixed with the Aztec central pyramid/religious site and prominent gold accents is mwah 💋 so stunning! Phenomenal stuff!
Wow, It's kinda like Ancient Rome.
Ngl I was really inspired by it as well
The redesign looks amazing!! The block pallet you choose really works well with the fantasy vibe of the ancient cities.
Thanks! I was really worried about the block palette at first:)
It's like looking at those simulations of what the pyramids looked like when they were built, or the reconstructions of Pompeii before Vesuvius ruined it
As an Archeologist it is very awesome to see someone actually make something historical in a game which is fascinating i hope Minecraft adds more lore into it just to show the entire history and lore of Minecraft
thank you so much! Ngl making lore bits was one of the hardest parts! I also with Mojang added more lore into the game, it would be so nice!
Poor horse was fighting for their life 😭 17:31
I saved it!
Ice houses were a thing a long time ago in warmer climates where large chunks of ice from for example mountain regions would be brought in and stored in cool cellars. My village has a cave which is called something like ice cave because it was well insulated and people put ice in there in the winter and then stored their drinks and easily spoiled food in there in the summer. Maybe the ice house could be a tavern with an underground storage!
I looove the water everywhere!
This video has made me realize, I need to get world edit for my bedrock building omgggg it'd make my life SO MUCH EASIER!
This is so cool! I've been looking for good inspiration for restored ancient cities for such a long time now, and while many people have taken a stab at it, I think you nailed the style and the vibe better than anyone else so far. I'm 100% shamelessly going to steal some of your ideas for when my friends and I inevitably rebuild an ancient city on our server (though ours will still be underground!)
Glad you enjoyed it! I really tried to bring something new with this build! :3
I don’t play MC often, but I had the jolt of inspiration for a time traveling kind of story where the character accidentally activated the portal in our time and gets sent back to this MASTERPIECE! Thanks for getting me out of my writin slump, friend!
Wow. Easily one of my favorite RUclips videos ever. Great building, great storytelling, great cameos, great humour, great attention to detail, simply everything was exceptionally awesome.
Glad you enjoyed it! And thank you so much for such great support
impressive, many content creators tried to restore the ancient city, but yours is my favorite that's so cool
Thank you so much for your support 💜💜🥰 I really tried!
Shera is amazing that she has the dedication to renovate a whole ancient city! Thank you so much this build is amazing.
You are welcome 💜🥰 and thank for the support 🥰
Four words: Talent, creativity and dedication 🙌
I love your unique approach. Ancient city restoration is nothing new, but taking it to the surface and completely changing the palette? Cool idea! Maybe next time you can rebuild the nether fortress in Overworld, also with different palette!
Thank you very much! That could be a fun idea!
This is insanely amazing, I absolutely adore this city and your work on it, and all within a couple months!
I've been building my village for almost seven years now and it's not even a quarter of the size of this city (and way less cozy aswell).
Thank you so much for the support! Building a city or a village is hard , it’s okey to take your time ☺️ 💜
I really love this transformation. Your build is easily one of my favorite transformation videos. I know that I‘m copying other comments (Or at least writing something similar), but it looks absolutely beautiful. Also it’s admirable that you stuck to the original scale because I could not be doing that, I think… I never tried transforming an ancient city before, so it‘s only a guess. Anyway, thank‘s for making this for us to watch!
Thank you for your support! Sticking to original scale was really painful, it’s a big restriction!
4:32 I like to think that the warden was the most devoted to the temple, and staying in the corrupt city for as long as it did, it slowly became more corrupt itself. Going with the temple idea, anyway.
This is such a creative idea. I would love to see someone do this in survival or even hardcore
That would be truly insane 😅😭
I like how the portal is central and big, but does not completly dominate the rest of the builds! great job!
Seeing the end result is just woah 😮 There's so much time and creativity that went into this build and you can really see that when you see the completed result. It's such a amazing build, so inspiring and epic looking! Best reconstruction of the ancient city, I've ever seen.
14:02 I'm in finals week and really needed to hear that, ty :'D
the way you replied to every single comment shows true dedication😭 this style actually kinda reminds me of what i would think Ancient Greek structures would look like, may be wrong though
Thank you for your support! I’m really trying to answer everyone 💜
I really like that bamboo wood & white concrete combination on the builds!! 🤩🤩
Thank you! 🤗
8:40 ✨️SECRET TUNNEL✨️
I absolutely love how you not only pay attention to details but give little stories for them
Yep, that's by faaaaaar the best ever restored Ancient City. Love every single part of it, but most importantly you've managed to overcome every obstacles that you have encountered while working on this piece of art and the making of the video. Basically i'm saying that you should be more than proud to have made it to the end.
Also i'm from Italy so....sorry for any mistake, every freaking word is marked with the red line because i'm not writing in italian. Pain.
Thank you so much for your support as appreciation 💜🥰 It was indeed very hard for me to build this!
i learned designing houses because of you, so cool!
You are welcome 💜
I love that it’s asymmetrical and has a lot of variation in terrain height. Your creativity and skill really shows well here.
i love this!!! it really reminds me of assassins creed odyssey and walking through the cities at just admiring the architecture in between quests....just an absolute dream for my history heart well done xx !!!!!!!!
Awww thank you! I was inspired by that game as well!!
I absolutly love this! I love the colours, and the nature, its so beautiful! There are so many tiny details thats make the city feel so alive! I cant even comprehend how long this took! This inspired me so much! Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much! I love detailing so much but it takes so much time 😅💜
I have no words, this just simply looks insanely good! I love how fresh it looks with all the plants and the water, it makes it feel lively.
You're one of the best on YT at realizing a cozy and realistic street level perspective. Great job!
I usually never say something in videos and everything, but this one obligated me. SUCH AN INCREDIBLE AND MAGNIFICENT BUILDING!! dont think about the problems, just look at the beautiful project you guys made! its really beautiful, for real ❤
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! 🥰 thank you!
This restoration of the ancient city is so beautiful and the bright colors, flowers, and little ponds and streams are breathtaking. It feels like a mixture of Greek and Babylonian with the architecture and the gardens. easily my favorite version of the restored ancient city, good job.
this is my favorite interpretation of the city in it's prime, honestly. thank you for showing us and even allowing us a chance to explore the world. 🙏
This is insane! You’re an amazing builder and I love all your funny little comments about the building process, the build is absolutely fantastic and beautiful and really reminds me of a cozy medieval town that I want to spend my summer in!
Amazing!
It turned out to be an atmospheric place. I have never seen light blocks used for the restoration of an ancient city.
It's cool that your friends helped you. I love working in a team.
Good luck with the videos ;)
I do imagine that the ancient city used to be a desert castle or a trading hub, but the way you did it brought new light to it! Cheers from America!
This is the best one ive seen! I'd actually wanna live here. Other ones i've seen feel oppressive and overcluttered... yours feels bright and balanced and welcoming! Amazing work!
I built a megacity and let me tell you: it took a lot of time and mine isnt half as detailed as yours. Big respect for finishing something so big like this.
I saw a theory that the wood and blue carpet/camp parts of the ancient city were built by pillagers on their explorations of the world, that's why there's dark oak and piles of blue carpet that match the ones in the woodland mansions. The small wooden watch towers are also similar to pillager outposts. So that's in line with your treasure hunting theory! Great video, it turned out so beautiful!
I REALLY love it! It's getting the closest to all restoration attempts I've seen so far what I imagine it used to look like
Best ancient city rebuild Ive ever seen!! Awesome work, Im so glad you eventually managed to share it with the world here.
Ice houses make sense for food storage. Ice could have been cut from nearby mountains and hauled down for storage to keep food stores cold.
This was a crazy video. I've never seen someone build something so well for so long. I couldn't begin to imagine how much time it took to build but then also record yourself and make a video on all this. Truly amazing work. Now I'm going to go build a dirt house and cry.
This is such a wholesome comment! Thank you for support and have a great time in your dirt house :)
this is marvelous, you truly did one of the best minecraft builds i have ever seen, plus i have a huge thing for reimaginations of formerly ruined places, great job!
0:11 Quarz? That's a mushroom stem
Well spotted 🙂 you are the 2d person who left a comment about that. I thought it would be funny to have a mushroom stem there xD
dude you are so underrated 💖
I appreciate that! 😊
The inclusion of your struggle with getting this video out is very relieving to me as a starting YTer. It shows you're human and I am too ❤
This is absolutely amazing! I really like the tropical vibes
I'm glad you picked up on that! 😊
I love this so much, this has such a similar energy to those old paintings of Babylon made by people who had no idea what it actually looked like
I dont think I can picture a more accurate transformation this is too perfect
This is such an incredible build truly beautiful, I’m a little sad you didn’t build any science buildings because a big part of the ancient city is their quest to make the portal and in the original ruined version there are a few buildings that have experimental science stuff and it would have been really cool to see you make those, other than that I don’t think I’ve seen such a cool recreation in a long time
i litrally dream of living in such kind of city!
good work!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Imagine waking up and roaming around in such a city...
if we mix that with sci fi things it just feels like we got into the perfect city!
Wow! This is one of the most incredible and ambitious builds I've seen! You're so creative and I love your use of all the different blocks in the game. A wonderful job! 👏❤🎉 (I also loved the cinematic lore bits in between the build footage - that was extra fun!)
aww thank you so so much for your sweet words! This project was really hard for me, so I really appreciate your support 💜
Your old watcher here, great vid, great to see you again after a long time.❤
Wouldn’t it be cool if the lore was that when the ancient builders tried to activate the portal it actually malfunctioned and teleported the whole city - from a different dimension. Like how sometimes nether portals and ned portals will sometimes deposit you underground or inside solid rock at weird elevations and you have to dig your way out. So if there’s a future update to the game that allows you to reconstruct the portal, it would pull you and the whole city back to its original dimension, whatever that is
And maybe the portal did teleport just some parts of the city because it was unstable? That is such a cool idea!
I think this might be the best Minecraft transformation video I've ever seen.
Wow. I'm in awe it looks so beautiful and alive,,, And the lore interpretation!! You are insanely cool for making this (very seriously)
SHERA LEARNED WORLD EDIT, FINALLY
The temple could have been repurposed when it was moved underground? Like it used to be a temple and was changed to something more practical later?
This is definitely the best Ancient city revamp I’ve EVER seen!! 🙌 You guys made an amazing job for the interiors as well omg! 😱
Thank you so much Klay! It took forever 🥺😅
The 5 first minutes of this vid led to a direct subscription, this is a really cool, huge and mastered project! So well done!
I’m glad you enjoyed it! 💜
I wish such cities existed in Minecraft and people like villagers or something live in it. It would be nice.
Really cool project. I love all the details you did.
I think what would have fit in this kind of city as well would have been a bathhouse of some sort.
you inspired me to build my own village thank you so much, Shera
You are welcome 🥰
Such an amazing transformation! The amount of detail for such a huge city is crazy!!
Thank you crypto!! I’m still shocked I actually finished everything 💜
Your rendition of the city looks GORGEOUS! I would actually live or visit there if it were real. You made it look so pretty, vibrant, and peaceful compared to how it looks now in the deep dark. ❤
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! 😊 thank you so much!
I clicked on this because it wasn’t hardcore
The architecture really reminds me of the ancient Zonai ruins from tears of the kingdom! This is beautiful!
Sheraaaa you are like a whole different youtuber I am so happy for you that this video did so well!
You already are well aware because I've said it many times but my entire village is littered with your designs. You own the rights to at least 75% of my village.
I'm so glad that so many other people are finding your channel ❤️
This city is soo gorgeous
Thank you so much! I’m really glad you are enjoying my new content! I’ve realized that tutorials was not enough to express my creativity, that’s why I decided to make these big creative project videos :3 Thank you for all your love and support 💜
Phenomenal! I can only agree with some of my fellow commenters... this is the best ancient city reconstruction to date.
126k followers isn’t enough for the kind of building you can do in terms of building content. Beautifully done.
This is the first video of yours the got recommended to me. The amount of work, effort, and dedication is astounding! Not only that but it also looks amazing! Easy subscribe and I can't wait to see what is next.
This is giving the same vibe as the city from the road to El Dorado, just beautiful and magical
The ancient city is so cool especially when you find out sculk spreads when things die. Make you realize there was alot of death in the city and thats how it fell
•I LOVE your accent lolz
•The ancient city recreation is so creative and accurate, I absolutely adore it
•I'd add a huge library and a community hall too
Oh thank you! And those are great ideas!
crazy to think how many views this video would’ve gotten last year! hope it gets double those views now, really. don’t sabotage yourself from now on!!! believe in how great you are
I'm hoping so too! Thank you for the support. 💜
