I’d much rather have a stiffer bike than a lighter bike. These days bikes are getting so light they’re Comprimise no in structural integrity! Coming from a 200Lb 6ft rider so take it from that perspective.
I'm a bit surprised you were considering it anyway given all the BB issues you had. Also it's as overweight as you'd expect if you look at the weights of later V1 Ostros and the new O2.

Good video. Not a big weight weeinie guy but it is pretty obviously the new 48/58 wheelset is where the system weight savings are. It’s a big gap to the Sworks frame weight.
THanks for the video; I too am weighing the SL8 vs the new ostro. I'm still leaning towards the Ostro because I still don't love the looks of the SL8, the wheelset is not as nice IMO and it costs $2,500 more for the RED Power configurations. I also want the ability to use a clip-on bar and Black Inc has the best cockpit for this, better than the ENVE I have now. Given that I could easily loose 10lbs of body weight, I think I'd rather live with the extra 400g (1lb) of bike weight be on a bike I love to look at.
Get a Tarmac SL8. I use to have an Ostro, I was inspired by you to get it. Because of what I do I don’t keep bikes for too long but SL8 so far has been my favorite bike I have ever owned. I have got my sl8 with Ultegra down to 6.88 with everything. With Duraace I have got it down to 6.59 in size 54. . My best and favorite set up so far has been with clx alpinist for climbing, and Enve ses 4.5 hookless for all road. Clx rapids 2 are complete dog shit. If you get clx rapids get gen one, they are 200 grams lighter than 2 and you can set them up tubeless without ever having any issues. Don’t worry what they say they are tubeless compatible, I have tried them with every set of wheels with every type of rider you can imagine. I assure you there isn’t a human in the plant that can set up tubeless tires, or has set up more tubeless tires than me. At least 5000 times minimum.
Looking briefly, the price difference between the SL8 and Ostro (SRAM Red) is $3000 US. I guess people will have choose between the weight savings vs cost when looking at these two bikes. Its a shame the Factor isnt lighter...
Thanks for sharing. I am not looking to upgrade my ostro quite yet, but doubt I'll do it if the weights you are showing are consistent with others reports. Drives me crazy when companies lie about weights. Huge turnoff even if the bike is amazing in every other way.
Does anyone know if Factor fixed the rear Thru-Axel problem that exists on version 1 of this bike? Also, there are lots of posts online about the bottom bracket creaking and the headset compression plug/steer tube problem. Hopefully all of these problems have been fixed on this 2024 model.

Look at the BMC SLR01. Great bike and light weight. I got my size 51 BMC to 15 lbs
