Haha, I don't think we have anything to worry about with chopsticks. This channel is probably the only place where we can get away with being this weird.
It was great to hear about your puzzling backgrounds. I just got into speed puzzling a few months ago and assumed from seeing you at various competitions that you both had been speed puzzling for a long time! I hope the competitions stick around for a while, I find them really fun.
Tammy's been speed puzzling longer, but yup I only started during covid. June 2020 was my first contest and I got hooked! - Yvonne

I saw Yvonne and EB Caron compete as a unicorn team in the USA Jigsaw Nationals! Since Tammy was someone who helped run the competition, she couldn't participate. It's great to see you together!!
Tammy is my normals pairs partner, but since she was on the board for the last two Nationals I had to find substitute Tammys. I've always wanted to puzzle with EB, so I asked her. And I had so much fun puzzling with her! But I'm very happy to be puzzling with Tammy again. -Yvonne
I have always loved butterflies. I think they are so beautiful and unique. My favorite is the Monarch butterfly.
I love Monarchs too! I was lucky enough to visit a migration site once where there were thousands of them resting in the trees! - Tammy
I kind of sort. Right now I'm doing a playbill puzzle so I have one box lid with edges and one with all the intersections that were just black and yellow. Then I'm just sorting the others by show. It's really fun, I'm doing it without looking at the box. No butterfly in this one though.

I agree Yvonne, Aimee Stewart's artwork is colorful and easy to escape into. I originally started cross stitching her artwork (Heaven and Earth Design charts) and now I am working through all of her puzzles.

Great pilot episode! Why is it that loved ones always want to gift the hardest puzzles they can find?! I'd much prefer something bright and colorful (maybe even with a butterfly).

I have a puzzle unicorn from my childhood too! A Springbok round mini by Sandy Miller. It unfortunately does not have a butterfly in it though ...
Vintage Springboks seem to be quite the thing with collectors these days. Maybe your unicorn will turn up somewhere!
I've seen it on ebay a few times, but not at a price I've been willing to pay. But that gives me hope that it will maybe be there at a good price someday!
Any puzzle with a black cat is automatically a winner.

That's a cool idea for a future episode! I've not done a 3D puzzle in many years, but if I recall correctly, they are actually supposed to come with directions? - Tammy
@@TwoPuzzleUnicorns yes, it does come with directions but it's still really challenging!
Milton Bradley 300 piece from the 60’s ... cabin or barn ... mountains ... lake ... trees ... grass.
That sounds about right... so many puzzles from that era had those elements!

I used to do this 300 piece Milton Bradley puzzle of St. Basils Cathedral at my grandma's house. During covid, I tried to find it online but no luck. I did have find a Springbok 500 piece version and got hooked on puzzles again.
Wish Happily puzzles were available over here.

Ah, I also loved Box-Picking and now mainly switched away from that to be more efficient about my puzzling, even when I'm not speed-puzzle-practicing.

Butterfly puzzles are very enjoyable. I like to box pick as well and will sort sections at times, depends on the image. One of my favorite artists is Aimee Stewart as well, super fun images! Thank you for the fun! 🦄🦄🦄

I haven't puzzled with chopsticks yet, but now I want to! What I once did and I can recommend this for a future challenge, is to build a 100 or 200 piece puzzle in your hand only. By that I mean you start with a corner-piece between your thumb and index finger and hold it vertical, in the air, no assembling happens on the floor/table, all connecting pieces can only be added to what you are holding in your hand so you are build it downwards like a hanging chain. That was a lot of fun for me. I recommend a puzzle with a bit more sturdy, thick pieces, ones as thin as with your todays challenge puzzle might not hold together as well.

i’m usually a sorter, but i get impatient with it and leave the least identifiable pieces in the box. it really depends on the puzzle, though. i recently did one that i sorted about half the pieces and box picked the rest until i had to shape sort.

My childhood first adult puzzle, maybe 300 or 500 piece was also brought from a yard sale missing 2- 3 pieces. It was of a rusty water pump and red bucket.
