- How to Avoid Ransomware
Crypto-Ransomware is rampant and is all over the internet, if you don’t have the right type of protection software installed, you have a good chance of getting infected by ransomware, once you get infected with ransomware you’re data will be encrypted and you will then be held to ransom to release you’re data from that encryption, there is decryption tools available to use to decrypt your data, but some ransomware files can’t be decrypted by these. So your choice is to ether pay the ransom to these cyber-criminals which has no guarantee they will help you decrypt your files once you pay their ransom demand. I personally would never pay these criminals.
So what can I do to protect myself? You can install SecureAPlus
Free Antivirus & Whitelisting Software.
Here is the download
www.secureaplu...
Don’t put it off and leave it to another day, you never know when ransomware may strike.
Do I need to do anything else? I would recommend you make a backup of your data on a regular basis and create a system of your computer, I have made videos on how to do this.
The ransomware we will be using in our test is Crypto Ransom, which once injected on the system will encrypt all your data, we will test CTB Locker, File Locker, Torrent Locker, Teslacrypt, Locky, CryptoWall, and CryptoLocker.

Best regards,

Thanks David
When the popup at 3:57 occurs, it's not telling the user that there's randomware or any other specific threat, just that the software is "untrusted". A generic comment like that could apply to perfectly safe software too, causing someone to assume it's just the program going "Hey this /might/ be bad" and clicking unblock.
But...SecureAPlus also shows the VirusTotal detection ratio of untrusted files.
Hello Britec (im using this because I dont know your name),im following you from few months and I like that what you do,keep up the good work. But I have a question,do you think that I should replace Avast with this antivirus software?
Yeah why not.
SecureAPlus is a companion av. So, should be able to use it alongside Avast. Though this requires installing the version without the Offline AV.
I'd have liked to see the state of the roaming, local and temp folders for remnants. Also it wasn't clear what you changed from the original video, was it the deletion / removal that you didn't process in the first video?
I used a old windows 7 vm which I used for testing this software, which had a trusted certificate for that ransom, my mistake, I had two windows 7 vm and used wrong one for the windows 7 video lol my bad. All fix now, as you can see blocked all ransoms on windows 7, I was baffled why it let it on the system and now I know why. I had to delete the windows 7 part on the other video and made this to show it working on windows 7.
+Britec09 so in a way I was right about the digital signatures lol
It hurts me to say it...but yes you was close, I was very tired and was trying to get a video out and used the windows 7 vm what I was doing my first test on, I must of hit trust and boom, when I used that vm instead of a fresh one it let it on the system. It happens to the best of us mate.
Been using the program since you uploaded the first video one thing i noticed is it doesnt use that much resources like other antiviruses do, very interesting how it can constantly scan yet not cause much lag
Great video Brian!
Cheers.
Thanks for the update Brian.
You're welcome.
So hang on, I am a little unsure of this whole Virus install stuff and would just like to ask; is it possible for these types of things to install themselves on the system without you running EXEs? like for example watching RUclips and seeing an ad that downloads things without your knowledge...
Revvilo Yes, but on RUclips it will be VERY VERY rare.
Wow, that's a scary thought that stuff can download without your knowledge 3:
Hey britec do you think I'm still at risk even if I don't download anything and I have avast? Thanks for the videos.
Ransomware come from all sorts of places, links, attachments, proxy sites, downloaded file etc etc
Britec09 thank you
sir i need help from u that pc infected by cerber ransomware and decrypt all data like pic, videos.officice file
so how to remove cerber and encrypted all data plz sir i need help
Great video mate, keep it up ;)
Glad you liked it.
you know how to install google chrome brouser on a Asus RT laptop window 8.1
Can average person use it ?
I'm sorry Brian, but with this software failing for you, and in my case getting false positives for spidesolitaire, I don't see it as a viable virus protection and detection software.
I'll stick to what works for me.
Windows Defender and Malwarebytes.
I know, lots of people distrust Defender, they feel it misses a lot. But for everyday use, with me being safe with browsing, not clicking on spam, I feel safe.
How did this software fail for him?
Good video :) !
What is a best Anti-Virus in your opinion
im a player counter strike
my pc
win 8.1 x64
i3 3220
4gb ram
i wanna buy MBAM (Premium)
Honestly, you probably be better off buying either Zemana Antimalware or HitmanPro.Alert(which should come with a license for HitmanPro.) rather than MBAM(premium)
MBAM is not antivirus and it will not give you best protection...I would personaly recommend Emsisoft Antimalware
Thanks for the for the update Britec.
You're welcome.
The government really needs to clampdown on those who create ransomware.
Yeah I have to agree.
good video,usefull software..thanks
Just installed, it disabled Windows Defender........
Any way I can re-enable it?
Windows 10
+DehHaxor4evr Thanks!
that's not the case with me I use norton and it turned on WD in my settings (on/off buttons grayed out).I can;t shut off WD ,But hasn't caused problems with norton ,but however i am getting constant WD updates with windows update. Then detected my resident evil 5 game as a virus
yeah it is quite strange,But looking into it my norton is about to expire next month and I have auto subscribe. They maybe lighting up WD and waiting when it expires. No i don't have a fake WD because it was turned off.its not causing problems. Just had to download a patch to hide the WD updates through windows update.Yeah i agree with you just uninstall and reinstall it will fix it
What version did you installed? The one with Offline AV or the one without Offline?
As far as I'm aware, the "No offline Av" shouldn't disable Windows Defender.
Normally, yes. But SecureAplus(without Offline AV) can function as a companion AV. As such, Windows Defender shouldn't get disabled.
Thanks again Brian
Glad i could help.
Brilliant software! Thanks
You're welcome.
Reupload? Oh wait...
It's the almost same thumbnail and title.
re-make, please read some of the other comments I made.
