Hello, I saw a comment you cant pair the headphones without the Sony headphones app. So before purchase, check your laptop support this sony app. Is that ture or we can pair on laptop like all other headphones?
Awesome question! I pair my sony xm4 with mac and windows devices without sony's app. Just activating the paring process, then i go to Bluetooth devices and xm4 discovered automatically after few seconds. Hope it helps, wish you the best

Hi, do you know how to fix the distorted sound after I connect these headphones to my desktop pc? There's a weird delay/distortion of the sound and I cannot seem to fix it without shutting down my bluetooth mouse. I was hoping you might know a trick or two. Kind regards,
Thank you for sharing your issue. I personally never had this issue and using my XM4 works perfectly fine while the Bluetooth keyboard and mouse are activated at the same time. I did some digging online, and I suggest you apply this solution: change the Output Device to Headphones instead of Headset. For whatever reason having the output is Headset causes distortion but with Headphones, the sound is perfectly fine. Let me know if it helps. Wish you the best of all!

I have the headphones on Bluetooth mode but my pc still doesn't detect them. My computer on the main Bluetooth setting won't even search for Bluetooth devices, it goes straight to couldn't connect
To resolve the issue, make sure to press the Power button on the headphones for seven seconds to put the headphones in pairing mode before you pair the headphones with the computer. After the headphones are in pairing mode, both WH-1000XM4 and LE_WH-1000XM4 appear on the computer screen. LE_WH-1000XM4 may appear first, and then a few seconds later WH-1000XM4 will appear. Wait for the WH-1000XM4 to appear on the computer screen and select it. Note: It may take up to one minute before WH-1000XM4 appears Let me know how it goes for you. Wish you the best of all 🌟

So you activate and control the features XM4 offers only through this app. But if you are connecting the headphones to the laptop / PC via Bluetooth, the only features you can use are those that are activated directly from the headphones and don't require the app. Like, noise-canceling, noise-canceling optimization, Quick Attention Mode, and Speak to chat. to see how it works I recommend watching the video premiered for tomorrow. PS: If you connect the headphones with the cable to the computer, none of the features will be available. I hope this answers your question.
@Gamaniac That is really good question! I don't work with windows 7 but I made thorough research about this issue. If the drivers are not loaded, then they are probably outdated. Windows 7 isn't supported by Microsoft anymore and I guess Microsoft are not releasing new updates anymore. So I would recommend you to upgrade your OS. I have Windows 10 and Windows 11 and both of them work perfectly with XM4 headphones. Let me know if you have more questions. @@LevinsReview i solved it. right click the audio symbol at the taskbar then click sounds. select playback and you should see your headphones. it said it wasnt connected. i right clicked to select connect. there is a lagging issue when the video plays, sound doesnt play till about 10s in. so ill keep it plugged in via aux for now

Your procedure is totally NOT WORKING...I followed the procedure. I paired the PC...all OK. I paired the IPAD PRO as per your procedure...all OK. But in the meantime, the pairing with the PC has been disconnected. I emphasize that my headphone has the latest software installed. my PC runs under Windows 11 and I have got that last version of IPAD PRO...
