Bahdur is a common term nepali use to call men. He was commissioned in Gorkha Regiment so he was called Sam Bahadur. No doubt he was bravest of the brave. May be God choosed him to be called a bahadur.
Bahadur title given to only to nepali gurkha(sahi) army personnel.
Its not a common term for nepali men but its a middle name for boys in the past.
Nop Bahadur = brave in nepali.

@@pfx.mStarc brother there are a lot of neplese people living in India scattered all over the country a majority of them are in northern bengal darjeeling kalimpong etc and in ranchi dehradun and lot other places and also let me add those gurkha soldiers who fought wars in alliance with India are not from Nepal they were actually from India itself the Indian nepelese Or Indian gurkhas, many people have wrong concept saying they were from Nepal
I have my great grandfathers who were involved in great wars viz world War 2 their stories gave us goosebumps when we were kids
