Hi Ashley, you may want to rethink the Skadis (pegboard) for your cabinet. They are made out of compressed wood and a lot of people are having issues with them molding due to the humidity in their cabinet. If you do decide to get them, then I would coat them several times with a sealant so they don't mold. I put metal grids in my cabinets and they work great. I can hang pots off of them and clip pots to them with heavy duty clips. Thanks for taking us to Ikea. It's always fun.☺
To hang plants, you'll need to find a stud or use a Molly (plastic screw that your hook will screw into). It's pretty easy once you've done it the first time. My dad showed me & I've but in almost 10 on my own in the past few years. Never had a problem with them pulling out & I use up to 6in ceramic planters. I can talk you through it I you need
The key to hanging plants from your ceiling is to make sure you get the proper hooks: You want the ones made to be placed into sheet rock AND don't plan to remove the hooks later! You must drill a pretty good sized hole to place the hook, so don't plan to take it down later! You can easily hang a 20# lb plant without worry. I'm in an apartment and I did it...I always appreciate when I move to a new place and someone has put hooks before me - otherwise, I'll just patch the holes before I move!
I have a plant cart to hold all my planty stuff. Plastic pots, soil scooper, labels, pruning shears, etc. comes in handy…I just got the shelf with the wood accent and mesh (grates) I have a large carnivorous plant collection and I added grow light strips. I too liked the longer one but the space where it was going wouldn’t allow it. I love it! I may need a second one, not sure where I would put it though.
Went to Ikea last night in Charlotte, (drove 2 hours from Raleigh), picked up the Vittsjo in black and that Brazil that you picked up and put back. I couldn’t believe the size of those leaves. I bought it🤭 Thanks for sharing your shopping trips with us…(oh! Went to Big Bloomers on your recommendation, was in plant heaven! I mentioned you and asked them to give you a discount when you come back)😂
Hi Ashley, Many thanks for another great video! Fun to watch and so much great inspiration. I live in South Charlotte, however, when I go to IKEA I always make time to run over to Oakdale Nursery to see their plants and to see the wonderful associates that work there. Makes for a full and fun day! Take care. 👌🪴🥰
Hi Ashley! To get the ficus you want, without paying too much, watch the clearance at Lowe's! I was just there tonight - they had cleared out almost ALL the inside plants and they were outside for 50% off! Must mean a truck is coming soon!!
I have that chrislan hanger in blue and gold (3 of them) and cousins (planters that look simular) . A grande total of 13 in mij home. And I put hooks in de window frames. Looks amazing and no ceiling drilling needed. Mine are made of wood though. (The window frames I mean).
I have plants hanging from the ceiling. No matter how many times I take them down and water them, when I hang them back up I'm thinking what if this falls down here and crushes all my other plants and then they will be ruined. 😂 none of mine have ever fallen. I have the little hooks that you screw into the ceiling and I pull down on then when I put them up to make sure they can hold a plant. It's nerve racking but worth it. 😊
I went to ikea back in Sept for my bday and racked up on pots. I want to get a couple cabinets but they seem expensive to me. Plus all the add ins to make it a greenhouse ....it's a long term project. I ordered a sweatshirt from your merch line Ashley. I'm excited to get it!
regarding the Baggebo at 19:21 I've seen someone heat shrink window film on the sides to seal it up. It's a great way to get an affordable cabinet and still have the humidity too! Thanks for the tour, I went and snagged two of those Milsbo cabinets and while they're on sale!!
Thanks for the tour. I really like getting some new ideas on how to showcase my plants throughout my home. Really liked seeing all of the hanging plant options at IKEA. I’ll have to make a trip.
Hi there from Cornwall UK I've seen your video of the eden project I get alot of my plants from there love your plant shopping vids lots of stunning plants wow 👌💕
I finally checked out cactus club and they had some cuties and prices were good. i got Rhipsalis pachyptera, Piper parmatum, Ludisia Discolor (Jewel Orchid
I was told that the soil the ikea plants come in is garbage from an employee. What are your thoughts? Was told to repot plants right away with better soil .
Guys, I'm visiting NC from MD in a week strictly because I saw all the big bloomer videos over the years(love Ashley!) Can I get all the good planty places recommend for my visit😁
Charlotte has The Cactus Club (my favorite), Oakdale Greenhouse, PlantHouse, Blackhawk Hardware, and Twigs&Figs. Raleigh has Logan’s and there may be some growers at the NC State Farmers Market if the market hasn’t closed for the season. Growing’ Green is east of Raleigh. Big Bloomers is about, maybe, 45-60 minutes SW of Raleigh. If you want orchids, there’s another place called Seagrove Orchids which is in the middle of nowhere NC, but they have a great selection of orchids. There’s another place I’ve heard good things about in or near Winterville, NC, but I can’t think of the name. Winterville is in the middle of nowhere NC.
Too bad ikea service has gone way down Hill. They were so rude to me the last time I was there I will never shop there again. This this is the ikea in Burbank. Which I used to go to about once a month and never left spending less than $250. Probably I spent close to 50 grand there since they opens. But I guess they don't want my business anymore so they don't get it. This target is a 1000 times better with their customer service
Ashley..! Don't be intimidated hanging something from the ceiling! They add so much to a space! They make hooks that can spin freely and you simply drill them into the ceiling. Studs are super easy to find, but you can buy a cheap stud finder for help. Please just try it! (I even have a few hanging from the screw in plastic augers and a simple hook. But that's not the "Suggested" way to do it) 😅
I definitely don't advise doing it with a simple hook on its own. I have done it, but I promise, it ends up falling. Do it the correct way and find a stud. I promise it's not hard
Here is the link to the beautiful plants available at Cactus Club. Thank you for supporting my channel. :) itsthecactusclub.com/discount/ashleyanita

Are you talking a toggle? I get the hooks that hold 30lbs. Most often I won't hit wood so I use the toggle versus the screw. Both come with the hooks.
Love the hanging ones I got them and Love how they look!

You inspired me to go to IKEA today and I spend sooooo much ££ not disappointed 😂
I use my empty candle containers as plant stands. Double use! Sometimes they make excellent cache pots too.

Ikea in Pittsburgh didn't have nearly this selection you all have when I went last year.

33:48 Literally I sighed in disgust the same time you did with the price of the hampers. 😂😂It's cute, but not $54 dollars cute!
