Lovely work gents, really enjoying the podcast its vyin wth Smith and Sniff for my favourite spot. Especially enjoying Wynnes insights at the moment after reading Rowland Whites brilliant "Harrier 809" and "Vulcan 607".
I set episode 14 going this morning & have been trucking while the next 2 episodes streamed through the Scania speakers, so I feel like I've spent half the day with you two. It's not a V8 but a brand new 13 litre 500bhp straight 6. Lots of low down torque, not many revs & she runs at 950rpm on the limiter at 56mph. 12 gears + a crawler & overdrive, making 14 in total. The truck gearboxes are automated manuals & this one actually knows where you are in the world so it makes a shift based on the terrain & topography of the land. Cheers for the insight into military aviation & I have loved hearing about the TT. I've got an '06 quattro sport 240 Mk1. We won't discuss the road tax as it's the only bad thing about owning a very enjoyable motor car. Jonny.
Another great episode. Coach I drive regularly is 12-speed auto, with a 10.8 litre engine. Usually starts in 4th - basically an automated manual, but just pop in Auto and forget.
Alright mate I'm coming to rustival in my st 170 engine swaped Capri if it finished in time. Hopefully get a chance to show it you so you can tell me were iv gone wrong 😂 love the podcast looking forward to meeting winn as well
Talking of racing getting boring because cars became all the same, I love the Saloon Car Racing from the 1960’s and 1970’s where pretty much everything raced together. There were big Rover V8’s, next to Anglia’s, Mini’s, American Thunderbirds and everything else thrown in - no similarity between any of them but racing the snot out of them 😅. Just fantastic! ruclips.net/video/BVCBxkwgohI/видео.html 😮
So I watched the Croft round of BTCC yesterday on ITV X. They had 2 classic touring car races. Absolutely brilliant, Minis, mk1 Cortinas, Anglias racing massive Ford Falcons.
Its like going to the pub with your mates and talking about Aircraft and Cars... Fantastic!
Keep them coming, fellas. Best podcast out there 👏👌 Really funny and interesting
Thanks so much Daz. It means a lot, we’re on a roll not stopping now.
