Holy crap, is anyone else having a huge nostalgia rush? I haven't heard the Kai soundtrack since I watched the show 6 years ago. I forgot about all these songs for a long time, but I recognize them all. Brings back lots of memories
Quinlan McNoland It was amazing, god I remember the marathon on nicktoons when I was 10 to 11 where the z fighters and Goku fought Frieza. I started watching it from a friend and ended up routinely watching every episode release.

I find it awkward that people think the perfect dbz version would be kai with faulconer. Faulconer has a very 90's sounding vibe to it. You here it and automatically think 90's. And it fit the dbz dialogue well because that TOO also sounded very 90's. Kai's dialogue is more modern and fluent. It mixes with faulconer as good as water and oil in my opinion. This music is the perfect music for kai.
If Gohan in Kai went SS2 with his Anger theme then I would love it. This is just one of many scenes where I think the Faulconer tracks really shined. Of course like you said it doesn't fit too well most of the time, but it definitely has its moments.

Goku uses the Kaio-ken Attack on Vegeta during their very 1st battle. 3. This is in the background while Super Saiyan Goku and Full Power Frieza fought once Planet Namek was about to explode.👍
Zoltier853 well the composer was found to have plaigarized some music from famous movies and game so thats why they only used his music until the end of the frieza arc.

Wayne Zhang it's Mostly because due to the Music Composer Kenji Yamamoto fired for plagiarism. So they replaced it with Kunichi Score, original DBZ soundtrack
Besides 100 Power Warriors (or whatever the music that usually plays when Cell is around) and a few others, the kikuchi score for the cell saga in kai wasn't too enjoyable, although I was surprised that I never actually noticed a shift in music after Frieza.
As much as I grew up on Bruce Faulconer these soundtracks were amazing. It's a shame for the whole plagiarizing thing because the kai music was an amazing substitute for Faulconers songs.

Demon King I 80% agree. While Yamamoto goes great with everything in Kai, I think Faulconer would still mix well with most action and power-up scenes.

100%. It saddens me how many people missed out on the Yamamoto score in the Cell saga. Kikuchi's score is good, but does not fit Kai's pace at all.
