+Hardin Origins You might need to go and do some research.. Yamamotto plagiarized countless songs, when (to my knowledge) Bruce didn't. In fact, it was people who worked for Bruce that made the English dub score, commonly known as Faulconer Productions, and they never seem to take credit for what they've done. It all goes to Bruce and that's not true. ruclips.net/video/vlLI02pvQIU/видео.html Here's a link to a video that hopefully will clear up the confusion.
Toby-Z Dude the name of the company is Faulconer productions. When the credit goes to Faulconer its because that's the studio. Regardless of who he hired. Fact is those guys apparently never had rights to their own music. Which is why Bruce is able to put his music on Spotify and be a greasy douche. I heard if it wasn't for his lawsuit they were considering him for super. He's an idiot.
@Krystal Myth You essentially typed my comment from a while ago lol But are you serious?? Considered him for Super? Where in God's green earth did you hear that?? That sounds like one of those fan theories made up in a Facebook comment section on a post about how the Japanese version sucks ass. Edit: Also, he "left" Toei during Kai's run in Japan. 5 years before Super. Super wasn't even an idea or thought in anyone's eyes until late 2014/ early 2015. Super was a quick plan to capitalize on the success of the movies and it didn't receive enough production time. That's why we got episode 5's for a while until the animation steadily fell into a nice pace around the Universe 6 vs 7 tournament arc.
Plagiarism is a terrible thing, but I still believe Yamamoto had something great going with these tracks. The music he composed still has, in my opinion, quite a distinct flavour. It has a distinct Dragon Ball Z vibe that I don't believe many others get. Kikuchi is an exception as I believe his work is on a different plane that Yamamoto's. Not exactly better or worse, just a different feel than Kenji's
I think Norihito Sumitomo and Kenji Yamamoto made the most memorable soundtracks for dragonball. Faulconer to me was just ehh for me and while Kikuchi is sorta memorable I don’t really think that original Z soundtracks gave the impact that Kenji or Norihito gave to the series.
@Originz Fishing You're being an edgelord and are inaccurate. Kenji Yamamoto was fired for plagiarism. It's public information. They had to remove and replace his score on rerelease. This never happened to faulconer and his story is much different. Why you felt the need to randomly say something so far off base and wildly untrue because you dislike faulconer is baffling. Spreading fake info isn't the way to go. There are tons of video comparisons of Yamamoto's music stacked against its source and it's no question. There's tons of music they cover, and that's still not all of it. It's laughable at how directly he directly lifted music off popular songs off popular bands almost daring someone to catch him. No dude, Yamamoto's plagiarism is unreal and there is no mistaking faulconer for yamamoto. Please site your sources or stop being 11yrs old, whichever comes first
Man the Kai version of Goku and Vegeta’s fight in the Saiyan Saga with this ost playing at the start will always be one of the most memorable moments for me
It is, sorta. It was originally meant for Goku and Vegeta's first battle in the series, Vegeta being "The Formidable Warrior" and "The Saiyan". It could also work for Goku, as he's a formidable warrior and a saiyan, too. So it's basically the "Goku VS. Vegeta" theme of Kai.
TheKazragore Not when it was originally stolen without permission and the composer who copied the music was fired. There are other legal hurdles to infringement, meaning that there would have to be a court case filing and a settlement in the best case. In the worst case, the original composers (he stole from more than one) could turn down the royalty. Additionally, since there are multiple infringements, they would have to justify the cost of paying them all and hire the composer they fired back, which is bad for publicity, especially if the composer is sued. Toei can't justify the risk/cost, which means that Funimation doesn't have a say in the matter because, under Funi's DB license, Toei can block them from using the music. It really isn't as simple as you think, basically.
Cell: So are you going to take a swing? Or are you just going to stand there, staring into my eyes? Goku: Hm, what was that? I was busy staring into your eyes. Cell: Aw, you beautiful saiyan bastard. Just punch me already. *Cue the fight between Perfect Cell and Son Goku*

+Colonel Sanders it really does.the guy who made this song also copied many other songs and even got fired for it. i still like this song though. you can look up videos of all the songs he has copied it is pretty funny
Funnily enough, the parts of this song that are plagiarized are the ones that I always felt were the weakest, even before it all came to light. Makes me wonder how much better Yamamoto's work could've been if he'd just relied on his own talent.

Because they legally can't. Even Toei can't. Blame the composer for stealing music.
