I have worked for a Car Collector for about 2,5 years. His 72 car garage was all down to me - if we are talking about cleaning, and keeping them nice and clean. There were about 8-10 those care, that I had to keep in showroom condition. I am talking about classics from the late 1920s all the way to the mid 1970s. It was a learning curve for me, but it made me go absolutely nuts on my own car. It is never spotless from the outside, but always feels extremely clean from the inside. How about anyone else?
I try to keep my fj clean on the inside but it rarely lasts. Right now, the outside is extremely dirty, and I know this sounds dumb, but I don't want to wash away the memories of my last trip. Im sure its not the best for my paint but I think the mud spray and water lines look awesome.
Lol gross. I just cleaned my FJ today. I had all that winter salt and sand everywhere. It was so gross. Now it smells pretty. Lol and now I have everything packed for summer camping season. Feels good. I usually do a good detailing once a year. Congratulations again for getting your first sponsor. ❤️❤️❤️
Buried my FJ in a mud hole 2 years ago & had a lot of mud & water come in the cab like this! It came all the way up onto the drivers seat cushion of the FJ. I drove it home that day & pulled the whole interior out & spend a few weeks getting it all cleaned out. That experience definitely keeps me out of the deep mud now lol. I found the rocks are a lot more fun than the mud now
I'm surprised it didn't smell inside. It took a long while for that mat insulation to dry out when it got wet. I would pull the front seats when you have time. There is a lot more of that insulation under the front floors. Glad the channel is back and enjoying the new content.
Did this same thing when I bought my FJ. I’ve been through some pretty deep mud and water but it never got inside. My FJ is always in tip top clean shape, well as clean as an overlander can be. Love the work you do. Greats videos keep it up.
Haha I remember you were cleaning my car wheels with the product…… spray… power wash…. My car wheels were soooo cleaned 🧼👍👍👍👍. It less than a minute for each wheel 👏👏👏
I love your videos, I often re-watch these. I keep dreaming of getting an FJ, I still do not know if I am going to stay in the States, and this is the only reason why I am holding back. Your FJ is the ideal one. Your videos are absolutely awesome! I love them.

I love, love to do deep cleaning on my vehicles, love even more to hear about products that TRULY work. I need that headlight restoration kit, way cheaper than new headlights. We just got an 07 FJ last weekend! Her name is Yellow Bird but her nick name is Birdy. I can't wait to get out and clean her up. We have had nothing but cruddy weather since we adopted her, hoping the weather improves very soon.
I didn't clean my car for 170k miles. Then decided to keep it forever and got obsessed with car detailing videos and now I'm into keeping it super clean
Oh...wow I realize that my FJ can be a fresh new car!!! Thanks for this clip and so excited to see your new episode!! Keep up the great work! Your channel will grow soon. The story, the quality of the videography, and your genuine characters are the essence of this channel. Thank you !!
I keep my FJ spotless on the inside, the outside stays dirty from trips. I usually just pressure wash it on the outside, but it's not spotless. What takes up the most time cleaning is the underside. Cleaning the mud from the inside of the skid plates, and cleaning the inside of the frame rails. The worst part is my fuel tank strap has a gap between it and the fuel tank, and accumulates a layer of dirt there.
I agree - so many hidden places that can hold debris. I've carried little rocks all across the country that have been lodged in places that i just couldn't see haha
Deep clean twice a year; after winter season to get all the salt out and before winter season to clean all the camping life out of it. Then I “try” to keep it as tidy and clean during that time period
I've got 2 young kids and a dog, so keeping the Fj clean is done at somewhat reasonable rate (cleaning spills/food/etc). I probably deep clean it once every couple months while I'm at an apartment with no garage...
Nice job I need to clean mine I haven’t clean it since I went off road two weekends ago, but what brand is your front bumper I’m thinking of replacing mine.
Love this video, what an endeavor! Must been quite something waiting to find out how things were underneath and super satisfying to have all that dirt scrub out! Thanks for sharing and looking forward to see more!
I keep the Gladiator somewhat clean. We have 2 big dogs and they shed like a pound of fur every time they are in there. Usually do a deep clean prior to camping and then again in the Fall.
After I get back from riding, I’m typically beat so I’ll wait a day or maybe a week lol before getting it hand washed my a company that washes my cars. $60-$100 to deep clean including interior and exterior. I like to do it myself, but sometimes it’s too hot and just not enough time
Nice - same it’s usually a few days or a week before I have energy to clean it. But I’ve never taken any of my vehicles to a detailer or car cleaning company! How long does it usually take??
@@stokedtour Depends on his dirty it is. But typically it takes 1-2 hours. Here in Arizona there are a lot of mobile detailers. So they’ll come to wherever you are and take care of it for you.
It never stays as clean as Id like. Man, you dodged a bullet leaving it so long, so glad there was no rust or other damage 👍 I really miss my FJ, best little truck ever!
i almost live in my car cuz i work out of it like a work van.. (about 60k/yr) the passenger seat footwell is the garbage can...back seat and trunk area FULL of gear for work.
Awesome vid mate. Wish I could bring the FJ over and tour around. Just wondering how the starter motor and alternator performed after the swim? Cheers 🍻
Honestly I ashamed to admit. My car only goes through a car wash once per quarter and I don’t even vacuum it every month. Wow sorry guys. Mainly because my house needs cleaning too and it takes priority. Also as a Dutch person I also take the bike a lot instead of the car. So that’s a part of it as well. Btw holy smokes on the accumulation of dirt in your FJ. Hahah. Good to see you doing more content backed by your new sponsor.
To my understanding, the seals shouldn't be letting water in, so I probably just need to replaces the seals in the rear. I often forget but the FJ is 13 years old haha
How clean or dirty do you keep your car? Does it matter to you? Comment below!
My f150 is sooo dirty all the time.
I like to keep my 4Runner clean and tidy but when going car camping I do not care and it is game on.

I don’t mind keeping my FJ a little dirty. I mostly do a wipe down once a month but a little debris doesn’t bug me.
So satisfying to watch the cleaning process...I'm officially inspired to shower my FJ now!

I keep the Gladiator somewhat clean. We have 2 big dogs and they shed like a pound of fur every time they are in there. Usually do a deep clean prior to camping and then again in the Fall.
Oh yeah, with dogs it's much harder to keep it clean. I would find clumps of fur in the most random places when I had my dog
