My Mazda 3 has a trunk leak and I cleaned it out, dried it real good, then lightly sprinkled baby powder all around trunk and sides.. Then closed trunk and sprayed with water hose.. Then looked to see if I could find any water trails.. :)
Check the seam right beside the trunk shock on both sides. Make sure the seam isn't split, and if so put some clear silicone along the seam.
Had the same problem wit my m3. It was the seam behind the bumper that was open. Sealed it wit clear silicone. So far so good.
Will be taking a look!
If you own a sedan, check the third brake light. The bottom part rusts out, and lets water in. The gasket that goes around the plastic third brake light can't keep the water from coming in. But you're thinking, there's water on the left side, how does it get there from the third brake light? My guess, air pressure. That's if you're trunk wiring harness isn't leaking and your tail light/reverse light seals are still good as well.
Nice video.
My mazda 3 the same problem. And back lights.
But iam still love for my mazda.
Just had a similar situation with my 2015 Mazda 3 having a leaky trunk. In my case, the bolts holding the tail light assembly on the passenger side loosened up on its own apparently from the vibrating on the open road. Had to take the tail assembly off put some silicone on it and tight the bolts up inside the trunk. I'm putting Loctite on the the threads to keep this from happening again.
End-of-Story or so I hope.
Did it fix the problem?
@@SeeHowItGoes So far so good.
@@SeeHowItGoes Yes.
Did I just watch the makers of the “Blair Witch” movie do a RUclips video? 😂😂
I am curious, I have a 2016 Mazda 3, it doesn't have many miles under 50 K. However this looks like 3 small Holes top of trunk where you open and close.
I can literally see like 3 holes and always returns thick very dark like a real super gunky oil. Thick though? I don't see anything at all in the trunk . It's really weird. I don't think it ever had like weather stripping on very back where it opens and closes.
So weird , when I go get it washed and hand waxed it still is there . 🤔 Hmmm, maybe there is supposed to be weather stripping? IDK , purchased it 2017 .
Thanks much for allowing us to see things you are aware of. It's actually a pretty car you have there.
Thanks 👍
Built emergency vehicles in the past. Never once have we glued down bulb seal around doors or compartments.
My older brother has a 05 Mazda 3 and the headlights will not turn off he has to unplug the battery everytime he use it do you know what could be the problem??
Well obviously the switch isn`t doing it`s job and it`s being hit with a constant power... unless he doesn`t turn them off haha
Colton Richter like he turns off his whole car and lights but his headlights never turns so you think he has a bad switch
@@TFGLUISdid you ever figure this out? Mines doing the same after water damage
My Mazda3 hatchback 2005 leaks from somewhere near rear passenger light or left passenger trim into wheel well
This will help you find that issue 🔎
The water is also going in in the tail light screw I noticed
I had that problem, I silicone around it from the inside
I have the 2nd generation Mazda 3 2010 - 2013 model same damn issue since I bought the car when it was 4 years old. It just seems to be getting worse
Try out the roof hose leak test!
