In less than two minutes, you made Leo seem like a viable threat like one would expect the headmaster of a huntsman academy to be, while still maintaining his core character.
Yeah I always thought it was kinda weird that the narrative tried to make it seem like Lionheart being scared of Salem was pathetic and unreasonable. Like, she's an immortal Grimm witch with eyes everywhere. And his fear wasn't exactly unfounded, seeing as to what happened to him in canon, not to mention Ozpin having no plan going forward on how to stop her. Realistically, if Salem wanted everyone dead on Remnant they would be, and I think Lionheart knew this.
@@SomeGuy-cf2lp I believe they are aware (most people are I think) but the point they are making is they don’t need to make his cowardice extreme or unjustified. Cowardice is simply a lack of bravery, and it can be hard to be brave when the odds are so stacked against you.

Yeah. Lionheart might have been a more timid man than some of Ozpin’s other companions, but he definitely wasn’t as pathetic of a fighter as he was shown to be in Volume 5. Even people like Celtic Phoenix who do entire series rewrites made him better when compared to his canon self.

@@combatreadystudios7418 Honestly, it doesn't always feel right when the protagonists automatically assumes that if they can do something, so can everyone else.
Oh, that was awesome! This is a great way to show how Lionheart could have been! I mean, he is a headmaster at a huntsman academy, he should be able to fight competently. The betrayal in volume 5 was already out of cowardice, he doesn't have to be bad in the battlefield too. Also, I really liked how you had Qrow use his ability to turn into a crow as an advantage in battle, making for some really nice transitions.
Glad you liked it! My mind went places as soon as I remembered Qrow could transform into a bird. There's so many cool, intense flying scenes you can do with that, wish we saw more of that in the show.
Aside from the amazing sense of timing and movement from the animation, the actual script is amazingly written. It does so much to put us in Lionheart's shoes and why he might have acted the way he did. All combined with outstanding cinematography and voice acting too.
Thank you, that means so much! I always thought Leo was way more interesting than people give him credit for. The show is filled with people in denial about their motivations. Raven for example hides her cowardice behind her "the strong survive"-philosophy. But Leo has no such illusions. He knows what he did, and why he did it, and he hates himself for it. Thank you!! I got the idea from a RWBY RP I’m in with friends. There are combat mechanics for all dust types, including water, and water whips have been a stable of the RP for over a year at this point. And since we know water dust exists in canon, but we’ve never ever seen it used, I figured I’d take this opportunity to animate the (to my knowledge) first onscreen use of water dust.
Your animation is better than the whole vol 5, also I was dissapointed with Lionheart I know he is based on the coward Lion from the Wizard of Oz, therefore his personality makes sense, but he has the name of my favouirte king of England, who was also one of the most ruthless warriors, in history for that reason I had the hope that despite his personality was the Coward Lion on the battlefield he would fight like Richard The Lionheart. Like a true beast and in your animation he fights like that, so thank you.
I would have loved Leo to have displayed Dust manipulation like this. A master of the elements not for sheer power like the maidens, but for his own outstanding skill
you are amazing. thank you for keeping the fandom alive, even though im not a fan of anything past volume 3. i always look out to new fan animations, and especially look out to new animators on the block. although you have been around for longer than i was aware of it seems😅
Thank you, that means so much! And yeah, we've been active for almost 4 years now. Our main achievements so far are original songs and covers, but we're _finally_ approaching the end of our first OC fan trailer. Hopefully we'll become more well-established once that's out!
I highly suggest yall watch this at x1.25 or x1.5 times speed for added intensity, starting from here 0:55 Incredible work! Yall make me want to animate and I know how hard that is. Yall truly built different
Go for it, man! If you'd told me 4 years ago I'd ever have the resilience to learn to animate and get to this level, I would've called you crazy. If you have the right inspiration, it becomes a lot easier to put in the time and effort to get better.
Like what you did. You made some pretty creative ideas for Leo's weapon despite it being underutilized. I personally really liked the idea of Leo's weapon mixing and I like the gravity Lightning combo you did with it I wouldn't have thought of that one. Kinda wished you did more explicit combos but for a one minute animation I think you the concept quite well.
As much as I hate Leo for what he did, I would have actually loved to see him display this kind of prowess and skill with his weapon. I mean, I get so many fights took place during those episodes, but the animators only made him use like two Dust attacks with his weapon, and they were just long ranged blasts.
omg this is phenomenal m8! I've always imagined Leo incorporating some shieldwork in his combat style like how Kratos fought with his shield in GoW 2018 and Ragnarok
More..... (animators looking back at me, wrists cramping) More....! (Worried now, they draw frantically) The Director: I think that's enough sir... Me: (shoving him away, entering the animation room) I SAID MOREEE!!!!!!!!!! On a real note, please make more. This is fantastic fight chorography that entails what a fight between two high level combatants is like. Creative, smart, and fun. I'd love to see more! (Ps: If you didn't get the joke, I'm so sorry you're not a star wars fan)
What? This is outrageous. It's unfair! How can you be me and not be a Star Wars fan? Also, notice how Leo has the high ground at the start, so Qrow flies up to negate the advantage. He flies now! Thank you for the kind words! We're probably not gonna make more fights between canon characters, but we've made an OC-trailer and we're currently working on more! We've got 10.000 units ready, with a million more well on the way.
Aw thank you, I think you're the first person to mention the camerawork! I'm much more comfortable with cinematography than animation, so it's nice that someone noticed it
At this point I’d love to see if the creator remade the Cinder v Raven fight scene, I mean Raven turning into a bird mid battle, using Cinders attacks against her via portals like some Wakfu(another cartoon) portal stuff, and showing very creative ways to use the maiden powers to which she was so good at using she tricked BOTH Oz and Cinder about them
That would be cool! Though I do like the original Raven vs Cinder fight, I think it's the best fight in V5 (that and Blake vs Ilia), so I don't think I'll be re-animating it anytime soon. If I ever re-do another RWBY fight, there are others that need it far more desperately
@@combatreadystudios7418 that’s perfectly reasonable. I guess for me I still just have some resentment that the only maiden v maiden fights we’ve seen have all been weirdly even, especially with what I mentioned about Raven above. And with Penny v Cinder it actually made sense since Penny was been strategical since she just got her powers and had no actual semblance and was being cornered both times. Then the Winter v Cinder fight that started showing off the potential of a seasoned warrior with maiden powers while also actually using a semblance. Granted it didn’t last long since Winter was forced to leave but it still showed the potential of really solid fights
Animating this almost ruined the song for me. Listening to a song 5 seconds at a time over, and over, and over, and over, and over again will do that to you. Maybe using one of my favourite songs wasn't the best choice...
These Fan Animations comfort me with the hope that maybe one day, RWBY will be rebooted with better management, teamwork, and story; but only time will tell.
I mean, Leo academy was one of the biggest gains she could use on the chess board, its likely even before Leo she had pawns there just waiting for the signal and striking at their weakest moment. Unlike the other academies, his would have been the weakest link, no army, no overly cautious population, heck with the Branwen tribe playing around all the hunters would travel less too living major weak spots almost everywhere, I don't hate Lionheart I pity him
I'm still waiting for the day they give Ren and Nora their own fight scenes it's always team RWBY and Jaune getting their own fight scenes with Villains and it's time for them to have their own.
This is as much as you're getting from us, I'm afraid. But if anyone else wants to continue the animation, that would be amazing! The models are all available on CGTrader.

1:27 You mad lad, you actually used Water Dust in combat. I never see that. Even if it was such a short appearance, that was an amazing touch. :D
Luckily i'd worked out a way to rig whips like the water and electricity only about a month before we started this
Bruh... The slide and the ending, the dialogue that shit was AWESOME... WHICH INFURIATES ME MORE WE'RE STUCK WITH VANILLA VOLUME 5 FAWWWWKKK
Dude! This is so freakin cool! He definitely feels like a headmaster now!
Holy flippin fish that was awesome! Kudos to everyone who contributed to it!! I hope everyone has a happy Halloween!!! 🎃👻🎃👻
Damn this was great. I'm excited for your future projects
You won't have to wait long!
I highly suggest yall watch this at x1.25 or x1.5 times speed for added intensity, starting from here 0:55
Incredible work!
From this scene, this is what was meant if monty oum was alive.
Dear God, IT'S MASTERPIECE
1000 times better than it’s original. Amazing job!
That was a lot of fun to watch wow. Glad there are fans to fill in what could have been with RWBY.
The second rules of nature came in, I onrw it was going to be an epic fight.
This guy sounds more like Qrow than the actual guy they hired to play Qrow.
"What if Lionheart's weapon was used well?" The answer is your video 👍🦁🤎And a good answer
The Dialogue and choreography were AMAZING!
As much as I hate Leo for what he did, I would have actually loved to see him display this kind of prowess and skill with his weapon. I mean, I get so many fights took place during those episodes, but the animators only made him use like two Dust attacks with his weapon, and they were just long ranged blasts.
Now this is the kinda fight scene we needed! So hype! Good job!!!
1. that rail slide was amazing
2. awesome fighting with the shield
Excellent job with this man. Can clearly see the work that went into this! 👏🏾
I'm months late to the party but this animation is awesome including its finisher. This is amazing and I can't wait to see more.
omg this is phenomenal m8! I've always imagined Leo incorporating some shieldwork in his combat style like how Kratos fought with his shield in GoW 2018 and Ragnarok
i love this. very creative use of his weapon!
I am a massive fan on this animation. I also like that you have qrow use his ability to turn into a bird! Excellent job!
Damn. That was amazing! Great work!
THIS DIALOGUE IS SO GOOODD
More..... (animators looking back at me, wrists cramping)
More....! (Worried now, they draw frantically)
The Director: I think that's enough sir...
0:39 Wait 5 days this mean Salem gives them time off on weekends?
Of course. She's a villain, not a monster
The camera work is so good!
Aw thank you, I think you're the first person to mention the camerawork! I'm much more comfortable with cinematography than animation, so it's nice that someone noticed it
I would have loved to see Leo turn up! I get he’s the cowardly lion, but he IS a huntsman.
Man, Rules of Nature DOES go with everything.
Animating this almost ruined the song for me. Listening to a song 5 seconds at a time over, and over, and over, and over, and over again will do that to you. Maybe using one of my favourite songs wasn't the best choice...
@@combatreadystudios7418 Maybe, but it works SO well.
@@shadowldrago It is a very good song
This is good, like way to good
These Fan Animations comfort me with the hope that maybe one day, RWBY will be rebooted with better management, teamwork, and story; but only time will tell.
Excellent work.
If Leo was this goat, he'd of probably mopped the floor with Tyrian and Hazel then told Salem to piss off.
I love this fight!! Thanks for this!!!!
Man this is stuff is epic keep up the good work my guy
That was awesome
Hoooooo baby! You guys got fight scenes DOWN!
This fight is so much better than the show and it’s so cool!
It would’ve been cool if Leo used his weapon like that in the show, actually making him decent. Awesome use of his weapon and awesome animation.
This was very enjoyable
Almost forgot to mention the voice acting !♥️
Awesome animation!
I mean, Leo academy was one of the biggest gains she could use on the chess board, its likely even before Leo she had pawns there just waiting for the signal and striking at their weakest moment. Unlike the other academies, his would have been the weakest link, no army, no overly cautious population, heck with the Branwen tribe playing around all the hunters would travel less too living major weak spots almost everywhere, I don't hate Lionheart I pity him
aw man I wanted to see the full fight
YES! THIS! THIS IS WHAT WE SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN!
I'm still waiting for the day they give Ren and Nora their own fight scenes it's always team RWBY and Jaune getting their own fight scenes with Villains and it's time for them to have their own.
Absolutely amazing I do wish the weapon was used like that or see what it could do
0:17 Shame that didn't happen & he died in the words of Dragon ball abridged Frieza "Like a Bitch"
This was great I need a whole fight now
This is as much as you're getting from us, I'm afraid. But if anyone else wants to continue the animation, that would be amazing! The models are all available on CGTrader.
@@combatreadystudios7418 understandable if unfortunate, this made me want to write a triple spy lionhearted fanfic where he is this good but I am way to scared I will disrespect a character if I write them badly to try to do anything
@@combatreadystudios7418 also the steel trailer was amazing and I can’t wait for more awesome animations from y’all
@@willwheatly6665 Go for it, write the fanfic! The only to get better is by doing it. If you stop yourself from writing stories because you're afraid it won't be good enough, then you'll never reach your full potential.
If you want to write a story, go ahead and do it! The only person you're competing against is yourself.
@@combatreadystudios7418 thank you for the encouragement! if I do write it I’ll still wait until school is over to start
beautiful dialogue and interesting choreo, nicely done
Oh man, now I'm sad this didn't happen
I imagine skills like these are part of what made Lionheart a headmaster and one of Oz's inner circle, at least in his younger years before he lost his courage.
Absolutely great you're very skilled!!
