    The 18 videos you have made about the 07-08 600RR have been extremely useful as I'm a guy who hates taking my bike/cars to a mechanic and loves to learn how to fix/maintain things on his own. Thank you so much for all your help and knowledge passed on. This plus your prices are why I choose Partzilla for my bike parts.

    FYI. 2011 has two extra screws for the air cleaner main cover. They are in the back (tank side) below the wiring. Not too bad to get to. Used needle nose pliers to put the screws back in to place.

    how long will the air filter last before you need to remove it and clean it/replace it. For both the oem paper filter and the K&N filter

    • @PartzillaParts
      @PartzillaParts  7 лет назад

      Honda recommends replacing the air filter every 12k miles. For the K&N, they say clean it every 50k miles, but I generally clean and oil them around 12k-15k miles just to be safe.

    Video Idea: can you do a video on factor air filters vs k&n air filters and dyno them and see if there's a Hp difference?

    • @PartzillaParts
      @PartzillaParts  7 лет назад +3

      Hey Sam! We did a video pretty similar to what you're asking for not too long ago. Check out: Impact of a Dirty Air Filter on Horsepower >> ruclips.net/video/txtU8usYMIE/видео.html
      We assessed the impact a clean vs dirty air filter makes on your horsepower, and we also assessed how a K&N affected horsepower. We couldn't measure a difference and we actually found that -- in this instance with the CBR -- the clean stock air filter performed better than the K&N.
      We're about to get a GSXR up on the dyno soon. We'll re-run these tests then (stock/factory vs. K&N to assess HP difference.) Stay tuned....
      Thanks for the comment! Love hearing video ideas from viewers.

    Thanks so much for this! I recently picked up an 08 and am having issues realigning the 5mm bolts near the push pins near the front of the tank cover faring. I had to stretch the plastic forward cover forward, hold it tightly in place, and then bolt it in. Could the tank be sitting high after I reinstalled it after checking the fuel pump? Thanks-as always!

    Those fairings that clips on the tank scares me out. I had a tough time when changing the very same you hit with hand to pop in place. I shall try this next time, but now I am curious what is your way of removing it do you have it on video also? Most of the guys shows how to push the whole fairing in order to get it pop in, but you gave it a punch and it seemed so easy that is why I am asking about the reverse action.

    • @PartzillaParts
      @PartzillaParts  7 лет назад

      The trick is just lining up the tabs before you pop it. As for removing it, once all the screws and pop rivets are out, just pull them apart. Doesn't take much pressure.

  • @Drakers1993

    its not shown on the video how to remove this plastic tank cover, i've unscrewed those screws, but there is something holding it in front part

      You probably just missed a screw. Follow along the outside and there is one in the center.

    is there any problem riding without airfilter cover?

    • @PartzillaParts
      @PartzillaParts  7 лет назад

      The cover is designed to force air into the chamber and minimize dirt and debris, so while the bike would run without it, it's not recommended. It may not run as smooth as you would like.

  • @kristiangurholt59
    @kristiangurholt59 7 лет назад

    But there are bolts/screws on the of the orange tank cover at 0:53, how do you get the tank cover of without unscrewing the side fairings first? It looks like you didn't have the bolts in place to begin with.. I've unscrewed all the other bolts and screws around on the black plastic part around the seat, but still can't lift the tank cover.

    • @PartzillaParts
      @PartzillaParts  7 лет назад

      The editing kind of skipped over that. You can get the tank cover off without removing the side panel. You have to loosen the side panel and pop the top side out of the grommets. There is one screw and one pop rivet on either side of the tank cover. Once those are removed, the cover comes right off.

    • @kristiangurholt59
      @kristiangurholt59 7 лет назад

      Partzilla Thanks! I ended up removing the side fairings as well, and putting in a new air filter now. Holding the old filter in front of a lamp you can barely see any light coming through, so it was due. I just started riding my '' new'' 08 600RR, so I'm trying to get familiar with basic maintenance.
      Any idea when the video on coolant flush will be up?

    • @PartzillaParts
      @PartzillaParts  7 лет назад +1

      The CBR we worked on is no longer available to us. We will have to get another one in before we can do more videos on it. Unfortunately, we don't have an ETA, but it's on the list.

    • @PartzillaParts
      @PartzillaParts  7 лет назад +1

      You can't clean the stock filter with anything except air to blow out debris. The only air filters that can be cleaned with chemicals are the K&N type fiber filters. If you spayed any liquids on a stock one, you need to replace it before you ride again.

    • @PartzillaParts
      @PartzillaParts  7 лет назад

      Honda recommends changing it every 12k miles. If you upgrade to a K&N filter or similar, then you would just have to pull, clean and reinstall.

    • @DominicanOps
      @DominicanOps 7 лет назад

      Thanks for the quick reply. Is it true that if you use a K&N air filter with a slip on exhaust then you need to have a PC installed? Again, appreciate the reply :)

    • @PartzillaParts
      @PartzillaParts  7 лет назад

      It's a good idea. Anytime you add aftermarket upgrades that change airflow, the PC allows you to remap your air/fuel so it runs better.

    This video doesn’t work if you have a 2012, and if they say it does work well then they skip a bunch of steps cause he never unbolted the tank from the sides
