The only ride that wasn’t damaged was the Batman clone, and it was relocated to Fiesta Texas where it now operates today as “Goliath” Edit: road runner’s express also wasn’t damaged and was relocated to Magic Mountain
Well I got god news for you. Sense this park was owned by six flags. Some rides where saved sense they didn’t have much water damage. Road runner and Batman where the two rides saved. Batman is at six flags fiesta Texas (@San Antonio) as Goliath, and road runner is at six flags magic mountain (just an hour and haft outside la) with the same name and and color scheme.
Formerly known as Jazzland, the park was washed out by Hurricane Katrina in late August 2005 and never rebounded. The park opened as Jazzland in 2000. Six Flags took ownership of the park in 2002. Due to the prolonged brackish water damage sustained by the rides and buildings, the park was shut down indefinitely without plans to rebuild, refurbish or reopen.
Hi Menachem, I would love to license this footage from you for a Discovery Channel show. I am happy to comp you for it too. Is there a way I can get in touch with you?
That’s a good idea. I’ve been trying to figure out how to ride an abandoned coaster. Was thinking a generator to power the original ride mechanicals but this would be a lot simpler.
@@Al_Patron361 if you are serious we should meet up at the park and try to ride jester. Although we would need to check the hydrolic locks on the restraints but if they are ratchet style we should be able to manually release the locks then have somebody hit the latch from the bottom to relock then. We would also have to cut the hydrolic brakes so the train would be able to roll out of the station. I actually did try doing this at geauga lake but before I went to ride I notice a big tree had grown through the track. Kind of ruined my evening lol
I don't have a pov of zydeco scream.i was there only for a couple of hours that day.these are the only coasters that I managed to take a pov on the couple of hours I was there that day.
No reason, they just didn't reopen, I don't think they just didn't though, I assume the hurricane did so much damage that the park was beyond repair, that could explain why some rides like Batman: The ride, Roadrunner Express, and their droptower were all relocated
I’m assuming due to the lack of people like in this picture that’s why they didn’t reopen. Maybe Busch Gardens should buy the property and give it a shot. They would probably be very successful there.
just so happens to be 20 years ago today! amazing rare footage. thanks so much for uploading this.
I like the Mega Zeph. Would have loved to have rode it and the Batman ride and Zydeco Scream. Cool coasters.

However, Zydeco Scream was a Vekoma Boomerang, and Boomerangs are the most common coasters. You can find them at Six Flags and other parks.
@@BetterCallMiles my home park Canada's Wonderland has one too. It's called The Bat. I love it.
can you even imagine what this park would look like if it was still open today?
Thanks again friend I never knew that there was a reverse steel corkscrew looper in that park
God I miss this place so much. Roadrunner was my first ever rollercoaster

I just made a exploring video there it will b out in 2 days It’s crazy to see this and then see how much it’s grown over 16 years later
Go get a winch and you can ride this coaster today. Just winch the train up the hill and enjoy your ride!

That would definitely kill you, considering not only has it been abandoned for decades, but it's been vandalized to hell.
Nice video

Really curious what would have happened if Katrina didn’t hit
Justice League would have replaced Jocko.
Permission to use this footage for music content, and Spotify canvas?
