Hi, I just discovered the valuable resource you created here, with everything presented in such a logical clear sequence. I hope the lack of any further videos is due to you choosing to spend more time playing, rather than
any unfortunate circumstances. Thanks for all that's here.

Hi Don! firstly thanks for your videos, they have helped me a great deal over the last year or so. i had a problem which i since solved simply by trial and error and not really understanding electronics. I can really only follow instructions, so when a problem arises it gets pretty baffling. Im the sort of guy that likes to try and figure shit out. Anyways, was hoping you could simply shed some light on my most recent mod. I upgraded a friends strat. He gave me three individual silver lace sensors (3 wires, orange(hot), green and white(grounds)). I found your most brilliant mod, i think it was called the mod con, where not only did you have the blender pot but also a series switch for the bridge and middle pups. I followed the instructions and found that any position which combined the middle pup was out of phase (which i dont mind, but my friend didnt want). To cut a long story short. The only way i could get the middle back in phase was for some reason swap the hot back to the selector switch and the grounds back to the pot just like the bridge and neck pups. Also i had to rotate the middle pickup. I suppose if i had a magnet and knew how to use a multimetre i would be much better off. Now i couldnt really find any useful help with and of Lace's resources. I did notice that they do a reverse wound reverse polarity option though. should the middle pup on this upgrade always have been rw/rp for your wiring diagram to have worked without my changes? I hope this message finds you well and that you may be able to unravel this mystery for us all. keep up the great work

Damn, I just discovered this channel last night. Almost 3 million views, according to the "About" page. Last upload is over 3 years ago. I hope you return. I have an Agile AB-3500 (28” 6 string guitar) upgraded with active EMG pickups. Something doesn't sound right when I play it (I'm betting something is outta phase)
Forunately I believe I have plenty of electronics to have a little fun: 2 EMG 89 humbuckers w/coil split, EMG X single, 1 vol push/pull switch, 1 tone push/pull switch, one final tone knob, and a 5-way selector switch.
Can anyone help me find this guy?

Hi, Breja. I have an Epiphone Bob Marley, in which I put two gibson humbuckers pickups (490 model). I want to do this wiring in my guitar. I was told I would have to take out the pickup case. All right. My pickups have only two wires, the outer ground and the inner positive. Would I have to unsolder the outer ground from the plate of the pickup?
When I say "plate", I mean the metal base where the pickup is mounted, where the screws that regulate the height go. Thanks

I purchased an Epiphone Les Paul Custom Pro (model year 2010). It has two volume push/pull pots for coil splitting. I would like to add the push/pull switch to the bridge tone control so it is the same as newer models with phase shift or do I just follow this video. Do you have a video to correctly make this modification ?

I have a small problem that I was hoping you could help me with I just built a strat guitar and wired it with one p90 pickup in the bridge position with a volume and tone, it is a tremolo routed strat. It turned out great but unfortunately my wiring skills aren't the greatest I'm sure it's something I did wrong but it's my first rewire job. My volume control only works from 10-5 when I roll it off, at about 5 the volume is killed completely and my tone control has to be rolled down to get any treble instead of up and on top of that the treble doesn't roll off gradually rather it cuts all the treble off at once when it reaches 9. I was trying to go for a 50's les Paul junior wiring scheme where the capacitor is wired between the volume and tone pot. I can't find a proper wiring diagram to help me correct it any help would be appreciated.

Hi. My tech said he needed to use a superswitch to do:
    Neck Humbucker
    Neck Inner coil
    Neck and Bridge Humbuckers
    Bridge Inner coil
    Bridge Humbucker
Shouldn't this be doable with a normal 5 way switch?

    • @BrejaToneWorks
      @BrejaToneWorks  8 лет назад +1

Nope - you'd need a SuperSwitch to accomplish it. The grounding of the Coil Split wires for each HB and the joining of the two pickups for your middle position are your problems.

It's features seven string pick ups on a 6 string guitar. 3 way switches for each pick up provide options for series, coil tap and parallel wiring. What if seven string pick up/s and six string pick up/s combination on a six string guitar? Can you post (various pick up positions) using the Modern Wiring and adding a Phase Switch into the controls via a Push/Pull switch. Thanks

  • @mikesmith2

Sorry, but this just does not work! You have wired both the output from the pickups and the lead to the switch to the same lug on the volume controls. Hence, the volume controls will not work. Hey, but maybe you like playing at full volume all the time!
