- Inspired by a true story, Pierce Brosnan plays Artie Crawford, a World War II veteran living in a care home in Northern Ireland who has just lost his wife. On the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings, he decides to escape his care home and embarks on a journey to France to pay his final respects.
How special and fitting to hear John Amos speak one last time in a movie before passing away....
Aye....
Ray liotta has been in like 4 movies and a few shows since he died.
mr. John Amos...r.i.p.

Fair Winds John Amos!
Seeing my generation’s James Bond getting old like that makes my joints feel rickety as well. Can’t wait to watch this
They made him look much older than he looks IRL for this. He looks fantastic IRL.
@@philipsquire9056oh so it's all make ups??
@@guts-141 Yes mate, google him and do an image search, great hair, epic beard.
He's not that old. It's just make up. He's just in his early 70's.
yea, all my favorite actors and movies and seeing how they look today is shocking sometimes.
We don’t often get to hear Pierce Brosnan’s native accent, nice to see him still going.
That's an Ulster accent he's doing. Pierce is from the midlands in Ireland. There's many different Irish regional accents.
@@EoinLynch-v1y genuinely didn’t realise that, thanks.
Old soldiers never die, they simply fade away.
Lest we forget.
As a Dutchman working and living in Ireland for many years. There is much to like in Ireland (but lets not talk politics and economics for the moment). Hearing Mr Brosnan talk in his native Irish iso James Bond British is a delight to my ears. Definitely would want to watch this movie.
To be as blunt as a Dutchman, Brosnan is speaking English with an Ulster accent, he is from Co Meath which has a different accent.
@@pwrstn not blunt. Just straight forward. Appreciated. Thanks for the correction.
He has a northern Irish accent in this. His native accent is Dublin.
We're all living with ghosts.... great line. And so true. The scars we hide.
This man is 007 to me in Goldeneye, he is not supposed to get old😢
That almost makes him father of the first person shooter. Goldeneye was the beginning.
@@50Nobody50 wrong but go off
Took the words out of my head
@@50Nobody50 As far as I'm concerned, _Goldeneye_ is still one of the, if not *the,* best FPSs ever made.
@@AlbertaGeek totally correct. 🎯
Pierce Brosnan is aging so unbelievably gracefully, that even at 71, they need to use prosthetics just to make him actually look his age.
Let's how well you look at 75. Only problem is that WW2 was in the 1930's. That means the men would be well over a hundred. In 2016 he would have been a hundred. What kind of kids wouldn't take their great grandfather to a thing like that. How can the kids no care. Is there no VA thing to help with that.
He's actually playing someone who's 20 years older than his age.

The World owes these fine young men a huge debt of gratitude.
We did, yes. But instead we’ve let our nation go to rats**t.
There’s a reason you do not resurrect fallen warriors… because they might see that the future wasn’t worth fighting for.
yeah but europe has to unite and deport islamic immigrants
otherwise what's the point of making war films
@@EvgeneXI touch some grass bro
owe? what makes you think they haven’t shown gratitude?
They were not fighting aliens, buddy. They were all convinced their fellow man was the enemy.
Seeing John Amos in this as well.. Looks wonderful..
Was this Mr. Amos' last film?
Great to see Pierce Brosnan in such a role - a fine actor and a fine man🎉
This makes me finally want to go to a theater to see a movie.
The world owes this brave man more than could be expressed in this comment. The time he jumped off that mountain side on a motorcycle, then caught up with a plummeting airplane, climbed in the door, wrestled the controls and pulled up at the last second. Amazing!
"We're all living with ghosts". What a great line.
Hopefully this wonderful actor will be honored with an Academy Award nomination for this performance
Rest in peace to John Amos. He was an amazing actor and he will be missed.
It's such a shame that these brave men and women fought and died to rid the world of tyranny...just for it to rise up stronger than ever today.
May their sacrifices not be in vain.
Liberty around the world must be protected and defended!
The price of freedom, eternal vigilance
We let them down by letting the blue haired freaks get a toe hold. We are the cowards. We let them down.
There seems to be another mass awakening! Cheers to turning it all around… again!
Pierce is my idol as teenager. best 007 for the 90er /2000er
Everything Pierce Brosnan does is worth watching
James bond isn't allowed to get old!
Day come and go. But pierce is the most bondly bond in history
Can't wait to see this movie a compelling and touching story with a great actor.
This is going to be a tear jerker. ❤
Seeing John Amos one last time in a movie is going to move me to tears. Hell, I'm already moved to tears just seeing him for a second.
My emotions are ready
I'm not crying, You're crying.
How refreshing to see a movie related to WWII that is not American. Sure like seeing that chest full of medals! Reminds me of my Dad. These guys and girls were truly the greatest generation.
Carlos aqui do Brasil , cara Pierce Brosnan sempre um gentleman em suas atuações , amo filmes sobre veteranos , sempre carrega uma dramaticidade emotiva que nos leva às lágrimas sempre .
Lovely to hear Brosnan’s natural Irish lilt.
He’s actually from Navan, county Meath - whereas in this movie he speaks in a Northern Irish accent, which is quite different. He does it quite well though!
Legitimately brought a tear to my eye. Lest we forget...
D-day is the longest day in the Human history. Mr. Bond was also at this war. How touching !
Hope this film and story gets the reception it deserves
This is going to be Pierce Brosnan at his finest!
Already Oscar worthy.
Bless them all, The Greatest Generation.
Pierce is a gem of an actor. 😎
I’ve already seen this. It’s called The Great Escaper. They should actually have had Caine jn the background of one of the shots, a crossover.
Why did they make two movies about the same thing in the same year, with almost identical scripts stories? I’m currently half way through the Michael Caine one - not sure I’d watch this one too…
Shut up
@@abulka It's a pretty common thing in Hollywood to try selling a movie script/premise to multiple studios. Oftentimes studios will see potential and "repurpose" a story for their own use
Some other examples are Olympus Has Fallen / White House Down, Antz / A Bug's Life, Armageddon / Deep Impact, Top Gun / Iron Eagle
Salute to these Seniors they command Respect and love
Rad!!! finally!! a film that makes me want to go back to the movies!!!
Finally a movie worth watching.
Holy moly, Jürgen Prochnow is back!!!
Pierce Brosnan is the best!
Oscar for Pierce.
Heroes never expire.
Nice seeing John Amos go out still relevant.
I'm definitely watching this.
Watching the most handsome 007 growing to be so old is just too heartbreakingly depressing. :(
He's only 70, the character is in his nineties
@@2adamast Imagining this is what he will look like in his 90's is even more depressing. :(
And here it comes the Oscar nomination!
Brosnan is the man.
I'm going to be crying this whole entire movie.
I'm not crying, You're crying.
ems ayoko umiyak 😳 i love Pierce!
ayun ohh hahaha same sya rin. yung fav actor ko
Our generation has grown up watching suave sexy Pierce Brosnan in Bond avatar, this character is a revelation and also how time flies..
And to think they had to use prosthetics to make him look his age he's one of the great actors that's unappreciated an underrated this movie looks like it might just get the attention of his peers Bravo Pierce Bronson Bravo 👏👏👏
This movie, reminds me of the film 'Trip to Bountiful', an 1985 American road drama film, directed by Peter Masterson and starring Geraldine Page, as an aging mother, goes on a bus ride without the permission of her adult Son, on trip to her childhood home, where her memories of life, youth, and happiness, endure to her last years of her life.
May these be Blessed.
Great cameo by Jurgen Prochnow! Definitely putting this on my watch list.
Is he in as 'ze German'?
@@fuerLutzi JA!
this man is the 007.
Seeing James Bond like this makes my heart hurt.
My man Clint Eastwood simply doesn't know how to fail at making hit movies; no matter which side of the camera he's on.
Looking forward to watching this movie.
This came out nearly a year ago??
Oscar Nomination!
Grande Pierce Brosnan. Lenda
This looks EXCELENTE ❤🎉
Can’t wait for this!!
Just give him an Oscar now, geez!
James Bond as a senior citizen!
To me this seems to be a sequel to Pierce's retired Bond ouvre.
The first was the wild ride of the Matador, depicting a asassin having second thoughts.
And now this one.
Gotta check it out.
Oscar for Brosnan
Two excellent movies with the same premise and both with excellent actors, 'The Last Rifleman' with Brosnan and 'The Great Escaper' with Michael Caine.
When did Brosnan got this old? In my mind he was always young and dashing.
crying my eyes out already
The thumbnail had me thinking this is a Joe Biden Biopic 😂
Damm right
Pierce Brosnan might be the last rifleman, but he was one of first FPS gun men in history.
brought a tear to my eye
likewise
Okay, this is in my watchlist.
Un film extraordinar !
He is one of the most handsome men in the last hundred years.
He's the best James Bond
Didn't Michael Caine just make this movie?
No,you are having a senior's moment. Tuesday is bingo and broccoli soup day.😅
@@pepelemoko01 Then I'm having a senior's moment as well...I saw Michael Caine in THE GREAT ESCAPER...same movie, same story...
The weird thing is that THIS movie has already been released last year. Don't know why it's 2024 in the title.
No you're not having a senior moment,
Great escaper is also telling the same story
@@pepelemoko01Twat...
Should get the nod for this one ☝️
Paramount brings you Pierce Brosnan as Joe Biden in "Asleep".
Exceptional movie
How many versions of this movie are they going to keep making
I’m getting those deja vu feelings again…
This film actually released last year, just a month after "The Great Escaper." In all likelihood, this is one of those cases where both production companies were bidding for a screenplay, and the one who lost decided to do their own version in an attempt to beat the other to market. It seems like this film had to do some recastings that slowed production, so they wound up on the losing end.
John Amos. Strength and Honor sir
Came to watch the trailer, stayed to read the comments 😂😂😂
It's sad to see the WW2 generation start to fade away
That looks like a great Movie.
Oscar nom...Oscar nom...Oscar nom...Oscar nom
Well that looks like a decent old fashioned movie with a trailer you'd expect to see for the first time in a cinema before the movie you were actually there to see.
Hope it comes with English subtitles.
When men were men.
Oh s**t!!! This looks amazing!!! Defo a watch!
The word is 'definitely'....😖
I'm in!
Way to go giving away the whole plot bro.
If im crying during the trailer....this movie is going to wreck me.
Bro its hard seeing my James Bond look old
it's can be the best role of Pierc Brosnan.
Can't believe James Bond has gotten so old nowadays!
The loneliness and greatest honor. To become “The last rifleman.”
The movies where old actors have to play senior citizens in nursing homes who are quirky and adorable but have dramatic, historically relevant pasts always depress me :P
There is always the same theme coming from old folks homes and the relatives of others: we need to keep you safe!
To the warriors who stormed the beaches of Normandy and iwo jima thank you for your service.
The bond finally retires
