Hateful 8 has always been one of my favorite Tarantino films as it feels like almost his spin on a locked room, Agatha Christy type story but with his signature violence and dialogue flair.
I liked your video. Makes me think, the only thing worse than listening to a person who doesn't understand figurative elements try to critique a movie, is listening to someone who wildly misinterprets figurative elements to support their own ideology while critiquing a movie. Reminds me of how as soon as Dune 2 came out, there were virtue signalers trying to claim that the movie represented Israel vs Gaza... which, upon thinking about for more than 10 seconds, it should be apparent that that analysis is entirely nonsensical. But I guess that's the dark side of the saying "art lies in the eyes of the beholder".
Just sounds like @archerfilm doesn't like when daddy Tarantino is criticized. Not liking his use of violence and slurs is a fair critisim of his work. Plus critics overall liked hateful 8 lol. I like how Tarantino and Scorsese are the only two filmmakers this guy talks about. Gives off real "I just had my first day at film school" vibes
Much worse in the 50s. At least you didn't have to undergo a struggle session if you didn't write blatant propaganda. There was also the critic who called Dirty Harry a fascist.
Film critics are essential… but there’s something deeply wrong going on with them constantly praising superhero movies. They’re the movies that have destroyed cinema. With actual films concerned, the hateful eight is arguably Tarantino’s worst.
"there’s something deeply wrong going on with them constantly praising superhero movies." I think that old Upton Sinclair quote provides the answer. "It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon his not understanding it."
I think that is a fair perspective to have, particularly when it comes to entertainment value. If you don't like it, then you don't like it. And I think there is something to be said in favor of Tarantino too. Tarantino seems to be far subtler than I think you give him credit for. For instance, look at the way he uses violence to identify and idealize or demonize heroes versus villains. Where a lesser director would not differentiate, Tarantino does. His villains get the over-the-top looney toons style violence, with extra blood and gore and viscera so outlandish that it is darkly funny. His heroes? His heroes get the gritty, realistic, and terrifying violence that one might see in real life. By doing so, Tarantino thematically takes the piss out of what would be downright evil characters while elevating and valorizing those who, in his stories, deserve to be valorized and elevated.
Most of the online "critics" really just want to argue about agenda politics and praise or pan a movie on that basis. Given that they're just trying to manipulate algorithms too, I don't see that they're any better, or more honest, than all the professionals you claim are paid off - and the same can be said about the "alternative" news media too.
I agree. He essentially does pastiche of cult B movies and turns them into main features. He is technically competent for sure. However he really doesn't advance these cult or B Movie genres. He cannibalizes them. I mean Neil Breen is probably a better innovator in this field.
If Quentin was a misogynist and hated women he never would have made kill Bill

masterpiece
ah, Hateful 8. A movie that could've been Django if it hadn't gotten distracted with allegory and female abuse
good point
Django sucked ass.
TBF the Robbie question came from a ‘journalist’ not a ‘reviewer’
true. that's what I meant.

guess you don't actually watch my videos. Ive seen more film in my life than you will for the rest of yours. nice try.

Dirty Harry was a fascist.
@@Archer_Film I think it's a little more complicated than that.
Iirc he only shot people in self defence.
The whole series has kind of an arc to it.

I like the way Hitchcock did violence. Tarantino is not so subtle. I have a hard time watching his films, not a fan. I do like Jackie Brown.
he copied a lot of Sam Peckinpah.
@@Archer_Film He copied everyone.

Tarantino is a hack.
you don't understand film.
@@Archer_Film I understand the film, and Tarantino is a hack.
Film critics have been the scum of the earth for a few decades now...
Most are in fact paid off for their film criticism....

Tarantino is overrated.
right...
So is your mom, but we still enjoy watching 😂!
Tarantino has done so much for the Film industry, Meanwhile... you have done nothing for your Trailer Trash Park Community....
